## Community Q&A

**Q: Have you remodeled a fireplace? Let's see it!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Did you make over a fireplace in your home? We'd love to see where it started, hear what you did and see the end result.

A: Here's two fireplaces that we recently DIYed. The first is in our Victorian home. The mottled green tile was unfortunately cracked on the hearth and the summer cover was painted in thick black paint. I stripped off the paint and retiled the surround with small herringbone marble tiles. I also painted the dark wood white, but left the rest of the wood trim in the room unpainted. The second fireplace is in our ski condo. There we replaced the original outdated fireplace with faux stone for a more rustic, mountain cabin look.

**Q: love the bed :)** *(in Photo Questions)*

what fabric is the bed ???

A: The bed is called the Nailhead Upholstered Nailhead headboard and frame from West Elm in natural linen. The duvet and pillows are called Peacock by DwellStudio. Thanks for the question!

**Q: Where did the bedding come from? I love the peacock duvet.** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The bedding is by DwellStudio. The peacock pillow came from Anthropologie.

**Q: The ceiling looks very clean, what material did you use?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Looks to me like bead board (typically used for wainscot) was used to cover the roof rafters. Is that what was done here?

A: Ikea Pax wardrobe with Ikea Bergsbo doors.

**Q: The Wall Covering** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love that you can write and erase directly on the wall. Does anybody know what covering they have used here to be able to do this? I so prefer it to hanging some framed board because here you can use the whole space..

A: It's dry erase paint. There are a couple of different options available on the market.

**Q: Where did the hutch come from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where did the hutch come from?

A: I bought it from a local boutique store in Salt Lake City 11 years ago. Unfortunately they no longer sell them.
