I do believe that PCHB will avidly work on the communication, making for a better experience all around. > > We chose Precision after several meetings with Dan for the custom build of our home. We wanted and made it a point to hire a hands on builder, this was discussed in detail and was "sold" to us during consultations relating to the build process; however, once the contract was signed, we never saw or heard from Dan again. The communication needs much improvement, as well as transparency. A more truthful approach during previous meetings would have allowed us to make an educated decision on whether the builder was right for us and vice versa. There were expectations discussed early on that were simply not met, and we were blindsided by a 3 month wait after signing the contract before Precision was able to grade the property, sighting grader availability and a "we are in line," reply. We would have taken measures to prepare for this had we known ahead of time. Understanding trade predictability is often difficult nowadays; back up measures discussed prior were not delivered. As previous home builders, we are not novices to building a home and understand no build is perfect; however we felt many aspects of the process were handled poorly by Precision, and when proposed restrictions were put on us on who we could and could not communicate with in relation to our build, this accomplished taking an already poor builder/client relationship and turned it into no relationship. We know that our home design was a first for Precision, all the more reason for open communication. We are hopeful that Precision Custom Home Builders will improve in areas that may have gotten lost along the way of business. As a principal owner of Precision, Dan needed to be more effective at listening to us as his client, as well as be more forthcoming as to his role in the company, take an initiative to be involved in some small way, perhaps show up at the end of the build to say congrats, a congratulatory note or small gesture of appreciation to your client whose home now showcases your website. > > Our foreman, Ben Wells is to be commended. We met with some of the PCHB team (Dan, Katy, Brittany, Jared, Brandon) to review our plans and listen to their recommendations so that we could keep within our budget. They were most helpful, patient, accommodating, and professional, so we decided to contract with PCHB to build our new house--the Sagecrest design. It can be a bit intimidating to build a new, custom home, but PCHB "held our hands" throughout all the preliminary work of getting permits, surveys, etc., and meeting with vendors. All the vendors that PCHB recommends offer top-quality materials and workmanship, plus we have found them all very helpful in deciding which materials to use. > Our house is scheduled to be finished in about 2 months, which will be 2 months ahead of our contracted schedule. Throughout the building process, the PCHB team has been readily available to meet with and assist us with our many questions and walkthroughs. Their ability to schedule sub-contractors, who they trust, is very impressive, and there has hardly been a day go by without workers on site. We have met with many of them onsite, and we have always been impressed with their expertise. Their project managers, Jared and Brandon are onsite almost daily to verify progress and quality of work. PCHBs are very, very good at scheduling and making sure all the work is finished right. Any building project runs into some field changes and mistakes, but PCHB always corrects any shortcomings that come up on site. I can't emphasize how very important their teamwork on getting it right is to provide us with full confidence in knowing, it will be done right. > This building time period has presented many difficulties for the PCHB team, and us, because of the current supply chain delays and backorders caused by all the Covid-related economy issues.
