> I work for a commercial interior design firm in town and we were out looking for tile for one of our projects. After stopping at two other showrooms and coming out empty-handed we popped in to Timeless Interiors and were able to find several fantastic options thanks to the friendly sales staff there. Everything was beautifully displayed in the showroom and in our opinion it's the best showroom in town. Our sales person was Todd and he was super knowledgeable and was able to help us find the perfect product for our application. We will definitely be using them on future projects!

> We were looking to do a little light remodeling on our home in Austin. While looking on Houzz, I stumbled across Timeless Interiors page. I was inspired by the beautiful pictures, and decided to go into the showroom as they are right here in Austin where I live...how convenient!! Wasn’t sure what to expect as I have never shopped for tile or flooring before, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful showroom that was easy to shop. The staff was super helpful, and I was able to find some great deals on older inventory they were trying to clear out…AND they sell countertops too!! That was one thing I definitely wanted to update in our home, but wasn’t expecting to be able to get all my surface selections in one place. It was a great experience….I love the way our home turned out. I would definitely recommend Timeless Interiors to all my friends and family!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Do you prefer multiple finishes for your kitchen cabinetry?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Many homeowners/designers are choosing multiple finishes in their cabinetry. There may be a painted and glazed perimeter and a mahogany island in the kitchen. Do you prefer this approach with your kitchen cabinets or do you lean toward uniform finishes?

A: I love the look of multiple finishes, personally. I like the look of a different surface material on the island vs the main counter space. I also love the idea of painting lower cabinets a different color than uppers...and likewise if all cabinets are uniform in color...I love the island base painted a different color. To me, it creates so much more depth and interest.

**Q: Coffee Table vs. Ottoman, Rectangular vs. Round?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

In a space where the thing in front of the sofa (coffee table or ottoman) is most likely to be used as a foot rest while watching TV, but there's not quite enough space for more than one end table...

Which works better, an ottoman, a coffee table, or some sort of hybrid?

Thoughts about rectangular vs. round in a small space (for same purpose as above)?

Some tables and ottomans I'm considering (paired with a grey sofa):

A: Love the printed ottomans you are considering. You can always use a tray on top to hold any drinks you may want to set down as well. Like in the grey printed ottoman photo. This is the set up I have at home and I love it. AND I LOVE that wooden sofa-arm table! Genius!!!

**Q: How close do I need to match chandeliers.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have a large crystal chandelier In my foyer. My dining room is off my foyer in a very open floor plan. I have a Restoration Hardware dining room table and upholstered chairs. The table is more rustic and I feel a crystal chandelier wouldn't match the style, but the foyer is just a few steps away. How close do I need to match the two styles in my lighting fixtures? I attached a picture of my foyer chandelier which I love, but I'm confused as to what to do I'm my dining room. Advice would me wonderful!
Thanks!
Disregard the horrible yellow walls I'm planning on wallpapering.

A: I just looked at a RH catalogue...and they have some awesome lighting! I personally love rustic furnishings with a splash of "bling" on the lighting fixture. I would not choose ALL crystal, but a few accents would be nice! I don't think you need to worry about matching the foyer. That is a pretty "modern" shape for a chandelier, meaning it doesn't not have a traditional cast metal frame, so It can adapt and blend to many styles. LOVE the third picture that Maureen posted for you ...the 2 orbs are awesome!! It you feel they are too industrial (I don't!)....then RH has a few similar options that have a little bit if crystal embellishment. Pottery Barn had great lighting options as well. Don't be afraid to mix it up! Choose what you would want for that space, and don't worry about the foyer. They are 2 separate spaces, so you can treat them that way. there are no rules...go with what will make you happy to look at over dinner on that beautiful table!

**Q: Selecting a granite countertop** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Installed new white maple cabinets in my townhouse kitchen and am now shopping for a countertop. The floor is red oak (see photo) and the appliances are stainless with black trim. The cabinets have slab doors with stainless bar pulls. The kitchen is only about 150 sf and there are no windows. I am looking for a granite countertop that will have re-sale appeal since I plan to sell in a few years.

A: I like the idea of something darker like a charcoal grey or black as others have suggested. A quartz material would be much less expensive than granite and look more modern. In either case, I would select something with low movement in it to appeal the most for resale. Here is a link to check out quartz options...

**Q: Hardwood floors or tile floors for living room?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Fort Myers , Florida what is best to use.

A: Tile is more durable. If you have pets/children, hardwood can get beat up pretty quickly. You can choose a tile that looks like wood. There are many manufactures that are digitizing tile to have the look and even the texture of hardwoods.. I LOVE it! I think it gives you the best of both worlds. You should check out a local flooring showroom to see it in person. Eleganza, Marazzi, and MS International are a few of the vendors who carry this.

**Q: What's Your Bathroom Renovation Must Have?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We'd love to know what's your bathroom renovation must have?!

A: Good lighting and lots of storage!
