We initially dismissed this option as we were more comfortable with the traditional, but each time we reviewed a further iteration of the original, she quietly drew our attention to the other design. It would have been very easy for Anne-Marie to give us what we asked for, and we would have been happy. But, she went a step further and helped us realize what we really wanted, and we are thrilled. Exquisite! A: Hello and thank you for the question \[and for the kind words!\]. We studied a few options that would have provided large pivoting openings to a possible south-facing outdoor terrace. However, a few concerns weighed in on the decision to not have doors to the garden directly from the pool. The first concern was safety because the children were young and we wanted to keep access to the pool to a single door so that it was easier to monitor. The other concern had to do with the mechanical system that would have become more complicated if natural ventilation became a variable. I hope this helps. A: Hi and thanks for the question. The only way to get a useful number is to contact a local contractor or 2 to give you pricing. The cost will vary quite a bit depending on where you are, the size of the pool and whatever else is within that structure \[bathroom, sauna\] and what materials you use. The stone was purchased from Stone-tile International in Toronto. This treatment did ensure a non-slip surface but there are many off-the-shelf products that are sufficiently 'skid proof'.
