Judy helped us to downsize homes and instead of buying brand new furniture, she was able to help us repurpose current pieces and add window treatments, pillows and rugs to make them look like new! We want to put backsplash tile and a friend tells me I must remove the piece of granite there and run the backsplash tile to the counter. I want to get it right but it looks like they left the piece of black granite here. A: It has been my experience that it is done both ways. if the 3-4" rise is already there I would be inclined to tile above it as shown in the picture.
