> I'm a finish carpenter that worked with TCH with Mark rising. I helped trim out x3 of his remodels and some other projects during the summer of 2021. Just need to vent some frustration so other homeowners/contractors don't work with this company.
> \- never paid on time, would get partial checks on the amount owed, and he would dodge me afterwards this went on for the entire summer.
> \- all of the customers had questions pertaining to the job/ time frame they all had bad things to say about the professionalism or lack there of from Mark.
> \- send in my final invoice before Christmas was roughly 5k total, mark sent me a check for 2k \[partial\] not like im a small starting buisness with a child that had no Christmas presents under the tree. But I'd imagine the rising family had quite the shindig of a party. Needless to say I never did receive the remaining 3k owed. He acted as if I had made a mistake in my billing or something, so I gave him the benefit of checking my invoices. Long story short he never paid.
> \- many of the other trades were not paid aswell
> Electrical/painters/carpenters beware you may get a \[partial\] check and they will act like they paid in full.

> We are beyond satisfied with our basement bar. It is exactly what we wanted and Mark and his team were incredible. We would 100% recommend them for your project and will use them in the future.

> We hired TCH in Sep 2016 to remodel our kitchen/living room based on their amazing reviews. Reality failed to live up to the hype. If you’re working with Paul on a custom home, go for it, but I cannot recommend them for remodels, especially if Mark is leading the project. His service was unprofessional, unreliable, and incompetent. And let’s be clear, TCH provides a SERVICE not a product. I am certain another company would’ve provided us an equally amazing space without half the headache. We had misgivings during the design phase and I wish we’d pulled the brake then. Mark and his team repeatedly diverted our budget away from functional necessities in favor of superficial design elements. They also couldn’t seem to comprehend the concept of giving us a pantry, again sacrificing functionality for “design.” My husband finally sketched the design we used and threatened to take our business elsewhere if they kept trading out the high quality appliances we’d picked for expensive cabinet finishes. Yes, we wanted the space to look great but, more than that, we need it to function without worrying about replacing appliances in 2 years. Once construction started, Mark assured me it would take no more than 8-10 weeks. It took nearly 16 due to his failure to communicate with us and his subcontractors. We were promised weekly email updates on progress but never received them. When we asked Mark about the days when nothing happened (sometimes the site would sit untouched for a week), he promised progress but fail to handle the issue until we’d asked half a dozen more times. I would recommend any of the subcontractors (they did excellent work), but they also suffered from Mark’s failure to communicate. The painter wasn’t given a complete list of what needed painting and thus didn’t have the necessary materials when he arrived. The tiler had to come back three times to do our backsplash because Mark initially failed to inform him the countertops weren’t in. Then, because the upper cabinets weren’t in and Mark failed to tell him what area to tile, he had to tear out a day’s work and do it again in the proper place. The electric work was a nightmare. I specifically asked Mark if the electrician needed to run wiring before the floor was laid. He told me no and that, as I am not a contractor, I don’t understand how things work. Apparently he doesn’t either, because he didn’t tell the electrician what kind of microwave/oven combo we were installing, which required specific wiring to keep it to code. This meant, since the flooring had been laid by this point, the electrician had to cut a gaping chasm in my office ceiling below the kitchen to run what he needed. To top it off, Mark didn’t bother to tell us about the office construction, so I arrived home after a long day with the intention of working on my master’s thesis and instead had to contend with an entirely avoidable mess that took weeks to resolve. I could give a hundred other details about how horrible this experience was but, in general, all you need to know is that I hired Mark so I didn’t have to babysit the project myself. I’m still not sure what I paid for since I ended up babysitting him. When we were a month past the promised deadline with no end in sight, I brought Mark’s father in to finish the project so we could get back to our lives. I expect TCH to respond and say some delays were our fault due to some of the materials we chose. But when Mark gave us decisions to make, he neglected to tell us how long it would take to receive certain things, making it impossible for us to make informed decisions. I also expect TCH to say we love our new space, which is true. However, as I said above, this is a review of the service provided, not the final product. We have a year-long warranty on the work but, frankly, I wouldn’t trust TCH to change a lightbulb in a timely and professional manner, much less resolve any larger issues. Technically, the project isn't finished as TCH has yet to close the permit, despite the fact that we completed our construction 5 months ago.

> Mark Rising was our general contractor for our recent, large exterior home remodel; which included adding a patio cover, stucco and stone (which was done over our existing siding) and a new driveway. The finished product turned out FANTASTIC and we continue to get compliments from people in and around our neighborhood. Mark met all of our specific needs as the project progressed and addressed to our satisfaction any of our concerns. Everyone who worked on the project was polite and respectful of our privacy and property. Mark knew our budget parameters and advised us accordingly when making specific selections. When he was with us at our home, he was always patient and we never felt rushed into any decisions. Thanks, Mark, for an exceptional job on our home of over 36 years!

> Working with Mark was very enjoyable from the design to the finish of our remodeled bathroom. He helped us design a bathroom which fit our needs and was within budget. Mark was very hands on and his team was very professional. We love our bathroom and would highly recommend Mark.

> I am a home owner who decided to finish my own basement. Things were going fine until I hit the drywall finish phase. After searching for a contractor to assist in finishing the drywall I happened upon Tara Custom Homes. Up until this point the no contractor was willing to work with me. Tara took interest in my situation and quickly provided an estimate to complete the drywall from my point in the process. To my surprise they were able to pick up where I left off, repaired all of my issues and completed the drywall task in a week. The end result was a wonderful drywall installation to include texture.

> I would highly recommend Tara to any DIY-ers who get stuck on a job like this. Their staff was very professional, and they went well above and beyond what I expected from a contractor.

  - Description: This Master Bath was created by reusing existing 100yr old Dressers and reinventing them for use as vanities. We then put Barnwood from a Dairy Farm in Minnesota on the wall to give some warmth. The Shower was created by laying the custom tile down on the floor, creating a custom piece on the bench and then a custom framed tile piece above the tub on the wall. The rest of the shower is lined with glass mosaic on the floor and the walls are granite tiles. The custom Shower Panel has a waterfall f…
