I feel like I want to cry. Wood beams** *(in Design Dilemma)* So the contractor installed wood beams all the ceiling and kitchen doorway. The stain is sooooo much darker than my sample I showed him. I gave him the mini wax Early American stain and sampled it on the pine he would be using. This is what he did. He did offer to restrain it but this means all upper cabinets will get removed and date pushed back. He said he used the same stain but I think he never wiped it off or left it on too long. Any thing that can be done without removing them? Distress, chalk paint etc. ? 1st pic inspirational kitchen 2nd pic my sample wood 3rd and 4th the current look A: I think you should have it redone to have a lighter stain. You do your kitchen once in many many years, so make it right. **Q: Living room** *(in Design Dilemma)* This is my Living Room. Should I leave it neutral? Need advice on maybe what color rug or go with a jute rug. Or no rug because I do have a cat and a dog. Plan on a black/white art between the two windows. Maybe a large Ficus tree in the left corner. Should I change curtains to a more oatmeal color fabric. Just thought I would get advice from you. Thank you A: I love your living room! It's very unique, but it's missing some personal touches. I like an idea of a large ficus tree. Rug will definitely add some coziness to the room, I like someones idea of changing to iron rod, in addition to black iron picture frames or artwork. Try styling thr coffee table with some colorful books or magazines. I don't know why but I would like the coffee table legs to be black for better contrast with the top. I hope that helps. **Q: Help picking out front door entrance color** *(in Design Dilemma)* We just bought a house that has green shutters. Would like to paint our front door with a color that pops. Thinking about the colors below that I got from my neigbors (please see the 2nd and 3rd pics) Would either of them work? Or any other color suggestions appreciated! A: I also would suggest repainting the shutters as well I think red door will look great with the brick and black sutters. **Q: Looking bare... ?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I feel as though my walls are looking bare.. any suggestions?
