> Shan and Carmen have been a joy to work with. They are excellent communicators! They showed up when they said they would and worked hard at hitting the different completion dates in an industry that is struggling for supplies and good help. Straight shooters and even responsive after closing. Super fun to work with!!

**★★★★★ — Nancy Collard, June 2026**

> We were very happy with the work done by Built Right in Montana on our addition. They started the project in a timely manner and completed it as quickly as they could - delays were due to supplies not delivered in a timely manner. We really liked working with Zayne as project manager and they were willing to do additional things upon request. My only regret is we should have been more specific on the quality of the doors and windows. We specified Anderson windows as we replaced all the windows in our existing building with high end Anderson windows. Built Right installed Anderson windows and doors but we should have requested a little higher quality to match what we had in the rest of the building. We've been moved in now for almost 3 years and I can't say there is very much I would have done differently. That's on me as I submitted the design and they constructed it according to what I submitted to them. Thank you Shan, Carmen, and Zayne.

**★★★★★ — Carrie Ranger, April 2026**

> From start to finish, our experience with Built Right in Montana was a great one. We absolutely love the finished product and are so happy with how our home turned out. The staff were always friendly, professional, and a pleasure to deal with, which made a big difference throughout the build. We felt well looked after and couldn’t be more satisfied. Highly recommend them.

**★★★★★ — Michelle McGrath, Oct. 2024**

> Carmen and Shan did an amazing job with our build in Kalispell. The work was done timely and professionally. Shan and his team respond immediately to any questions or changes and were easy and accomodating to work with through the process. We were out of town for most of the build and they willingly worked with onsite utilities and contractors for a coordinated, thought out and professional build. We would highly recommend this team, especially when trusted work is so hard to come by these

**★★★★★ — Marc and Teresa, Oct. 2024**

> Good experience with Shan and his team. We did run into some delays but that is to be expected. We weren't on the jobsite often, so that may have played a role. Communication regarding delays could have been improved on both sides with regard to timeline expectations. It would have been easy to give four stars for this but each time an issue arose, it was handled in a fair and professional manner which was important to us. The house was a custom design and the Built Right team was respectful to our ideas and added their own with no pressure to change our vision. No issues with workmanship, we ended up with a what we feel is a quality product we are enjoying.

**★★★★★ — Brendan Stafford, Oct. 2024**

> Shan and the team took great care of myself throughout the entire build process and completed everything in a timely manner. The house turned out looking great, quality work and minimal punch list items. As a first time home buyer they helped me where I needed it. I would recommend Built Right to anybody.

**★★★★★ — Jason C, Sept. 2024**

> The Built right team did a fantastic job on our home remodel. They effectively turned a 1 bedroom with one bath into a 3 bedroom with 2 baths and we are very happy. Thanks Built Right we love our new home!

**★ — Bud Lavery, Feb. 2023**

> Terrible experience! Their follow through with the punch list was terrible. We had to finish the work with other contractors.

**Comment from Built Right in Montana LLC:**

> These clients have lived in the home since August 1, 2021 and were satisfied with the finished product at that time- but for a few minor punch list items which needed attention. In the time they have had possession of the home they have done absolutely no maintenance to the home.
>
> The initial siding was entirely replaced (at OUR EXPENSE) due to an issue with the paint in the summer of 2022. At that time we hired a painting subcontractor to repaint the siding. Absolutely, the painting job is not acceptable- however, the early arrival of cold weather (very much a Montana problem) prevented the subcontractor from making the appropriate repairs. He has been scheduled for months to return and make the repairs as soon as weather permits.
>
> The rock pile that they referenced came from the septic trench lines- there was no landscaping budget as this couple was building on an extremely tight budget and declined the option of landscaping. There was a clause in their agreement that specifically excluded removal of soils or rocks from the property- something they were aware of. It should also be noted that they requested one of our employees move the rocks to block a public access to public lands that runs adjacent to their property. That request was refused at that time.
>
> The wood beam was slightly damaged by the crane during installation. It was filled with wood filler and stained. No complaints were expressed with regard to the repair until December 2022.
> The tub was chipped and patched- on two separate occasions, unfortunately due to the fact the tub and home are almost 2 years old- and exact color match is difficult to achieve.
> The whole home was cleaned by a professional cleaner prior to the homeowner moving in and no scratches on the floor were identified at that time. The scratches in the floor occurred after the homeowners moved into the home. They did not hire a moving crew but moved their furniture and boxes into the home themselves. Additionally they have an indoor cat which the manufacturer states may account for micro scratches in the flooring. This is a manufacturer warranty issue not an installation issue. The homeowners have been provided the contact information on multiple occasions in order for them to file a claim- which they have not done.
>
> Their assertions that we failed to meet current energy efficiency standards is inaccurate. The energy code was adjusted on February 17, 2021 and a 90 day implementation period was given. All homes under construction prior to the implementation fell under the prior energy standards- which did not require blower door test. As for the blower door test- it was completed on February 7, 2023 more than 18 months after the home was competed. Weather stripping around windows and doors can deteriorate over time and doors may need adjustments to continue to close tightly. The company that conducted the blower door test stated that a rating of 5.8 vs 4.0 is a total accumulation of an area less than 18 square inches in the entire home that may be allowing excess air exchange. He also stated that it could be something as simple as an exterior vent not closing completely or a door that is not closing tightly. This is not a defect in construction but a lack of homeowner maintenance.
> It should also be noted that these clients have an unpaid balance on their home and on multiple occasions have stated that they do not wish to pay the balance owed and have threatened to file negative reviews, which they have now done.
> This was a quality built home that was built well below current market costs. We are confident it has appraised for well in excess of the homeowner's costs.

> Carmen and Shane worked a literal miracle and got a log cabin built for my new husband as a wedding surpise for us, and it was magical. They went above and beyond at every point, even staging the home for our honeymoon and getting a sign printed congrtulating us. The home is beautiful beyond measure and something we will treasure for the rest of our lives. Beyond being capable, fair, honest and extremely skilled contractors, they are an indelible part of our love story and helped create an actual fairytale for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

**★★★★★ — Terry Charles, Oct. 2021**

> I highly recommend Built Right in Montana. Shan and his team did an excellent remodel of my home. They were always professional, on time and the communication was great. Start to finish was five weeks as promised.
> What I really like they cared and the price was within my budget. I love my home. Call them you will not be disappointed.

**★★★★★ — Kendal Bortisser, Sept. 2020**

> Shan and his crew did an outstanding job building a patio cover on my Mom's house. From the very first day that Shan and Carmen came to look at the project, I was impressed. They gave ideas and suggestions that I didn't even think of. When the project started, Shan and Carmens son Zane took the lead and oversaw the entire project. It was very impressive to see such a young man with so much knowledge and skill. He knew what to do from the beginning and made sure the project was done correctly. With so many companies these days "cutting corners" it was nice to have someone do work that that ensured "attention to detail". The entire crew made sure that their workmanship was top notch. The crew was friendly and cordial. I highly recommend Built Right in Montana for any of your construction needs. Whether it is a patio cover or an entire house, I have no doubt, the job will be done correctly and you will be completely satisfied when it is done. Thank you Shan and Carmen!

**★★★★★ — Cathy Weber, Sept. 2020**

> Built Right in Montana is building a vacation house for us in Martin City. Our past experience with building a house was not a very good one. This time, the entire process has been so much better! Shan and Carmen have been so helpful. We live out of state and they have not only helped us by designing the perfect house, but also went out and looked at several properties we were considering buying. They were instrumental in helping us find just the right location for our new home. So far, they have been great at keeping us in the loop with pictures and communication every step of the way. We recently got to visit our home in progress and there is not one thing I would change. They helped us choose just the right materials to make our vision come to life. We are completely within the projected budget and do not expect any surprises once the home is finished. I highly recommend Built Right in Montana...they are great!

**★★★★★ — sean white, Sept. 2020**

> I first contacted Shan Davis regarding the build of a pole barn. The initial contact was professional and friendly. The remainder of my experience was the same. I was very impressed with the work provided as well as any follow up work. Soon after the build start of the pole barn, it was decided we wanted him to build a horse stall as well. That was easily incorporated into the build timeline and was completed without any complications. Very pleased with the service

**★★★★★ — lisa\_moody888, July 2020**

> Shan, Carmen, and their team are amazing. They build us a custom $500K-ish home. We are thrilled. The quality is superb, and the value is high. It was not an easy house to build — lots of modern elements — but they did it perfectly.
>
> Maybe most important, they came back and did \*everything\* on our knock list after the build. No questions asked.
>
> You really want to work with these folks!!!

**★★★★★ — HU-4429245, June 2016**

> Shan is an exceptional craftsman and energy efficient builder. I was on a number of his jobs and his work was above and beyond the quality of anyone else in the area. I highly recommend Shan and would use his services if I was building.
>
> I was a supplier to Shan for a number of years of prefabricated building systems and materials. I visited most construction sites and Shan built some exceptional homes of complex design. Shan was always competent, very professional, detail oriented, and honest.
>
> My recommendation of Shan is honest and from the heart as I am no longer in the business.
>
