**Q: Erosion proof french tile exit** *(in Irrigation)*

Hi,
Two years ago I installed a few hundred feet (several lines) of drain tile, stone, and mesh.  I live towards the bottom of a hill with shallow water tables.  Most of the runs have water flowing year round into a ditch.  Since the PVC pipe has stone under it the water tends to flow under not through the pipe.  I am starting to see the area around the pipe erode.  I may also see if there is a way to collect the water into small plastic ponds.  What would be a reasonable way to get the draining water to flow through the pipe.  The best I'm coming up with is damming the base and sides of the pipe with clay to cause a temp backup and force it through the pipe like I desire.

A: What about catch basins?

**Q: Refusal to provide references -- a new trend?** *(in Basements)*

I'm on the tail end of interviewing crawl space encapsulation companies. What has become clear is that there are multiple possible approaches to solving a damp crawl space. No matter which way we go, this is going to be an expensive project. The highest bidder is refusing to provide any references out of "respect for our customer's privacy". I ran into this same excuse recently for an entirely different (non-construction related) project that was going to total mid five-figures.
Is this a new trend? Is there any other way I should interpret a refusal to provide references other than "we don't have any satisfied customers for you to talk with"?

A: IMO-It seems as if they are willing to walk away from jobs or over price said job because they have enough to keep them busy. We need more trade driven professionals.

**Q: Run off from driveway to yard** *(in Irrigation)*

The two pictures are showing from my yard to the driveway and driveway to yard.
When snow melts or it rains, a lot of runoff from my driveway ends up in the yard.  That's fine.  However it creates a very muddy area are you can tell from that second picture.  I'm looking for a way to basically help divert the water from the gate area and bring it farther to the left, along the fence line.  
First idea was a small pvc pipe cut in half and laying it along the cement, but that runs the risk of getting clogged.  My Dad-just going off the pictures-wonders if pea gravel could work.  I feel like anything that lets the water soak into the ground like that will not be stable.  
End goal is to not have a muddy area right there (lead up to the gate on an incline-it's not great).  
Anyone have an idea?

A: I think you will need more than a grate, you need to actually contain the runoff and direct it some place else.

Would you use the same treatments through out in an open concept home with connecting kitchen, dining living space?

A: We like the idea of keeping the treatments the same and allowing the decor to flow throughout. It looks like Smith & Noble has a few different options for window treatments.
