The initial project meeting was friendly, transparent and honest about the scope and cost of the renovation. The schedule was updated daily and I had access to view it through Buildertrend, which alleviated any confusion about when specific tasks were being completed. When we discovered substantial water damage, Heather took time to find the most cost-effective solutions without compromising the schedule or quality of work. We finished on time despite the broader scope, which was really a feat! My home turned out beautifully and I am very happy with the quality of work. > > The team at large was responsive, professional and respectful at all times--even to the ever-present HOA president. I would highly recommend Tankersley Build Co. **★★★★★ — Sarah Shuman, March 2026** > After a very difficult experience with our original builder leaving our ADU project unfinished, our family was left in a stressful and uncertain position trying to figure out how to move forward. The project had been sitting incomplete, and we didn’t know who to trust or what the next step should be. > > Tankersley Construction stepped in and changed that. > > From the beginning, they were honest, professional, and transparent about what needed to be done to complete the build. They took the time to evaluate the situation and clearly explain the path forward, which brought a sense of relief we hadn’t felt in a long time. > > We are especially grateful for Steven Tankersley. He stepped in to help fix a situation he didn’t create—and didn’t have to take on. That alone speaks volumes about his character. During a time when we felt stuck and overwhelmed, Steven showed up with integrity, compassion, and a genuine willingness to help our family move forward. His guidance and steady approach made an incredibly difficult situation feel manageable again. It is truly hard to put into words how thankful we are for everything he did for our family. > > The entire team demonstrated quality craftsmanship and treated our situation with understanding and respect throughout the process. > > Because of Tankersley Construction—and especially Steven—our family was able to finally bring this project across the finish line. Our family would recommend them to anyone looking for a dependable, honest contractor who truly cares about the people they’re helping. **★★★★★ — kristi Dillingham-coffman, Nov. 2025** > I loved their project management approach as well as their excellent communication. Even a few years out from my kitchen remodel I can count on them to direct me to their trade partners that deliver the same level of excellent service. **Comment from Tankersley Build Co:** > Thank you Kristi! We loved working with you, and thank you for the kind words. **★★★★★ — Jennifer Ramsey Interiors, Aug. 2025** > I have worked professionally with Tankersley Construction, and have even used them on my own home, and to say they are the best in the industry is an understatement. Their extensive pre-construction process gives you an accurate and detailed bid that you will not find anywhere else. Their ability to schedule their jobs, and have them all end on time, with the most extensive attention to detail is award worthy. To top it all off, they have constant communication with client's through their app and through in person meetings, so as a homeowner, you never have to wonder when someone will be at your house, or what happened while you were at work all day. I can keep going, but if you want a thorough and well thought out build process - this is your team! **Comment from Tankersley Build Co:** > Thank you Jennifer! We love working with you, and looking forward to building many more amazing projects together! **★★★★★ — Jennae Leisey, Aug. 2025** > All I had heard were amazing things about Tankersley Construction from past clients and other friends that were building. It wasn’t until the opportunity arose to work with them did I realize what an incredible company they are. Their attention to detail is unmatched, the care they have for their clients is next level, and the feats they go to achieve the vision of a designer or homeowner is extraordinary. The time, effort, and energy placed in making sure the entire Tankersley team is on the same page and running parallel to our trade partners is such a cool process to be a part of. Hands down I’ll always recommend Tankersley Construction. **Comment from Tankersley Build Co:** > Thank you Jennae! We appreciate you, and look forward to building greatness together! **★★★★★ — Icon Tile, Aug. 2025** > They are a great team of people all trying to achieve the best results for the clients. They are organized and have a very high standard for every project. Terrific to be part of their sub team and we look forward to working with them for many years to come! **Comment from Tankersley Build Co:** > Thank you Adam, we appreciate you and the high standards you and your team bring to every project. **★★★★★ — HU-112166436, Aug. 2023** > We are so happy with our Tankersley kitchen remodel. We were surprised that a custom home builder would do a kitchen and we were impressed with the process, the people and the finished kitchen. We appreciated the tenacity and eye for detail from our Project Manager Pam. Josh constructed the perfect pantry for us with such care. The team worked so well together. Brian took care to prepare our space for construction, making sure it was comfortably set up for us. Every employee was professional and seemed to enjoy working there. Our kitchen is everything we wanted it to be. **Comment from Tankersley Build Co:** > Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to bring your dream kitchen to life! We appreciate the kind words! **★★★★★ — David, May 2023** > Tankersley construction did an excellent job as the lead contractor on our whole house remodel! This project was the first time my wife and I had ever done a renovation and we were very apprehensive about the cost and the process. From the beginning Steve and Heather put an emphasis on communication and planning, clearly laying out the different phases of the project, from developing plans to finalizing finish selections. They were transparent about the budget and minimized the need for change orders by identifying potential issues during the pre-construction phase of the project, which helped keep the costs down. The staff they had on site during construction were excellent. Josh, Tyler, and Brian were very skilled, knowledgeable, courteous, and maintained a very clean job site. The design advice Jennifer provided was prompt and helped push us through our decision fatigue as we neared the end of the project. After we moved back in, the Tankersley team was great about following up on any minor issues we identified as we started using the house. Josh fixed some of the dings we put into the new walls when we were moving our furniture and Eric was great about scheduling subs to come out and fix the issues we identified. Overall Tankersley got the project done on schedule, on budget, and provided quality craftsmanship throughout and made the whole process fun. If you are looking for a firm to lead your home remodeling project we could not recommend Tankersley highly enough! **Comment from Tankersley Build Co:** > Thank you David for giving us the opportunity shine! We appreciate you and Jenna! **★★★★★ — Doug Peckham, Jan. 2021** > After living in our comfortable tract home for 41 years, we wanted to update our kitchen and adjacent living spaces. We worked with Bree Steele at Design Shop Interiors for the design, and Tankersley Construction for the renovation. > > Steve and Heather made a great impression during our first meeting. We continued to be impressed by their professional and talented team of builders and craftsmen throughout the renovation. Our project involved removing two walls as well as our original kitchen and dropped ceiling, which was rebuilt to tie in with the existing vaulted ceiling. The original fireplace was removed and rebuilt to incorporate an electric insert. Doors, windows, flooring, cabinetry, moulding and lighting were replaced. > > We appreciate that the construction areas were sealed off, allowing us to live comfortably and safely in the back half of our home during construction. We are grateful to Tankersley’s highly organized Project Manager, Amy Bertram, who ensured that the project flowed as smoothly and stress-free as possible. We are thrilled with our stunning new open kitchen and living spaces. We highly recommend Tankersley Construction. **Comment from Tankersley Build Co:** > Doug and Brenda - if you could rate our customers, you would be 5 stars as well! Your project looks amazing, and you are both so much fun to work with! **★★★★★ — HU-261850151, Nov. 2020** > We’re loving our kitchen remodel done by Tankersley Construction! This is our second project with them and we have another one in the works. Shout out to Brian Stammler for being an awesome project manager! **Comment from Tankersley Build Co:** > Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to shine! **★★★★★ — Alex Rodriguez, June 2020** > We contacted Tankersley Construction earlier this year to remove a wall in our home. We were instantly impressed. > After deciding to proceed, the entire process went smooth. We appreciated the transparency throughout planning, design and construction. As a home owner I can't tell you how awesome it is to be in the loop with the schedule especially when your living room area is closed off during construction. > The attention to detail was also amazing. They made it feel like the renovation was meant to be. I would recommend them to anyone. **Comment from Tankersley Build Co:** > Hi Alex, thank you so much for allowing us to work in your home and be a part of the transformation! Cheers to many years in your beautiful home! **★★★★★ — Lynn Bruna, May 2020** > Remodeling our kitchen was something we had been dreaming of doing for years but just didn't know how to start. Steve was able to take our vague ideas and assemble a team that executed the perfect transformation. We feel like we are living in a brand new home. We were so impressed with how organized and detail oriented they are and it was helpful to know with the Buildertrend App what would be happening every day of the remodel. We would highly recommend working with Steve and Heather and their team, they are professional, reliable, and stand behind their work. We could not be happier! **Comment from Tankersley Build Co:** > Hi Lynn, thank you so much for selecting us to be your contractor. Better yet, thank you for the friendships we have made as a result! Looking forward to the next projects! ## Selected projects - [The Wyndgate Retreat: Timeless Living in Wilhaggin](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/the-wyndgate-retreat-timeless-living-in-wilhaggin-pj-vj~7946966) - Location: Sacramento, CA - Photos: 19 - [Loomis Country Revival](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/loomis-country-revival-pj-vj~7859307) - Location: Loomis, CA - Photos: 21 - Description: Country Revival began when our clients set out to find their dream home in Loomis, California.
