I upholstered the chairs off-white leather and replaced the hutch with large artwork to try to make it more contemporary. My area rug has gold and silver in it. I will be painting the walls Wind's Breath colour to lighten them. I want to replace the chandelier next. A clean look. My first preference is to have the walls finished in drywall, but my husband insists on having the two walls circled in something different. The two choices are a rough cut white lumber or a smooth shiplap look. I’m leaning towards a smooth board because it’s less busy . We have put in a new floating vanity sink and faucet and toilet. The mirror is the old one, thinking of relocating mirror to sort of where it is standing but higher. Or a different new one? Also it is all so white, was thinking color behind the toilet? A greenish gray or blueish gray? Also a framed pic. Floor is a warm beigeish limestone. Also wondering whether to put sconces on the sides of mirror or what... there is natural light from a glass on the ceiling. The whole house has white walls so a whole lot of color in it I think would make the bathroom look like it does not belong... Much of it is from when water drips on floor from sink and then someone walks across the wet floor with shoes. What type of rug would look good here? Should it just be a runner in front of the sink or a large area rug that fits in center of room? A: You just need a solid rubberized mat, it will allow the water to dry out under it, and also avoid contact of shoes with tiles. **Q: entrance into play room** *(in Design Dilemma)* We have this 8x6 entrance space we never use! A: Actually, it doesn't seem like a good idea because there are too much corners, jambs and doorways - may be very traumatic.. **Q: Is this ocean blue quartzite?** *(in Remodeling)* Hi had new quartzite installed called Manhattan. from brazil, tested and true quartzite from reputable fabricator ive used for many years. upon install there was large discoloration along island perimeters and back of counters in spots. installer said its just water absorption from cuttting and will dry quickly. it never did.. they tried drying it with a hand held blower, poultice for a week; nothing worked. they are happy to replace it. He is stumped as to what happened. we love the stone color - light blue/ grey/ cream/ white and have yet to find another quartzite like it. The pics look darker than what it really is. we are apprehensive to try the same material again for fear of an issue, but looks wise, the only other stones we like are marble, which is a mixed bag of experience and opinions. i have searched and searched for posts and experience with Manhattan Quartzite and cant find anyhthing. Fabricator said he doesnt know it by any other name. However, I stumbled across a few posts and pics quartzite of what looks identical to my Manhattan quartzite called “ocean blue ” anyone with ocean blue quartize out there that can share their experience? we would be willing to replace it, but not if others have had similar issues or find it to be problematic stone. thanks !
