Paul was very knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with. In order to check if it is load bearing, he advised he would need to cut an 8" square on the top of both sides of the wall which I understood and was OK with. He came over after arranging a quick appointment and right away saw that it was an older house and had the original molding. In order to not destroy the original molding, he took more time out of his busy day and thoroughly inspected the floors above and below to determine if it was a necessary wall or not. It turned out to indeed be a load bearing wall so was very grateful that the molding was not destroyed. Paul asked me what my budget was and my renovation plan and provided me with his recommendation. He even followed up afterwards with a drawing plan if I wanted to move forward with altering the wall. The husband and I decided to hold off on renovating the house due to other maintenance needed but would not hesitate to contact Paul again. My project started with another architect that turned out to be a nightmare. Paul took on my project corrected all the flaws and totally redesigned and got my plans passed by the DOB. It's beautiful! **Q: Kitchen Seating Area** *(in Photo Questions)* Can you please tell me how many inches the kitchen counter top hangs over the cabinets for the seating area. Is it 12" or smaller? A: Well, if you take into consideration that many people pull there chairs beyond the edge of the counter-top while seated and or eating it is then clearly obvious an average person of 6' or someone smaller with long legs will not be comfortable. I would agree that you could situate your chair/legs at an angle to gain more room for your legs under the counter but it's not the most desirable condition. I still say 16" works best if space permits..........that's my final answer :-). **Q: What finish is on these beautiful doors? Satin? Semi?
