> I did a two-hour in-home consultation with Ashley for a remodel and second story addition of our home. Prior to reaching out to Ashley, we'd submitted our plans to the city for permitting and had decided to hit pause before resubmitting for corrections. A few things about our design just weren't sitting quite right, but neither I nor my husband had the expertise or language to pinpoint the exact issues so we wanted some help.

> I went into the consult with a ton of slides and questions prepped, thinking we were at 95% and would drive the last 5% home with Ashley's help. I had super nitty-gritty questions about things like how many pendant lights to put over the island or whether or not to remove a wall between two spaces. We didn't end up getting to all of those kinds of questions because in truth, we weren't ready to talk about the last 5% yet. I'd say that we went back to 75% in the consultation, with Ashley identifying some major opportunities to improve our plans – things like flipping the kitchen and dining space for a design that better optimizes natural light, reorienting a bathroom in order to move the laundry room to a space that would work better for our family, etc.

> It takes serious skill and confidence to be able to zoom out to the forest level and make the kinds of suggestions Ashley did. I was incredibly impressed with how quickly she spotted the problems and offered solutions. She had no context coming in but was immediately able to provide value. She also frequently asked "why," digging into the choices we'd made before making suggestions, then leading with a balance of functionality and creative design moments in her recommendations.
