> We underwent a massive remodel of an untouched 1967 home. We had multiple walls removed and completely revamped the space creating an open kitchen/dining/living space. As first-time remodelers, we really wanted a lot of support throughout the process because we didn't even know where to begin! Mountainwood met and surpassed all of our expectations. We also remodeled in a time during the pandemic when tradespeople, supplies, and the whole industry were so backed up. Despite this, Mountainwood was able to get everything done on a super reasonable timeline and budget. The best part of the experience was the people and customer service. All the Mountainwood team members were kind, genuine, and helpful people. Same goes for the subcontractors and tradespeople. We overall had a wonderful and smooth experience even though this was a huge project (to us at least!), and I 100% recommend Mountainwood!

**Comment from Mountainwood Homes:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience! Your home looks beautiful and is so much more open now. We enjoyed working with you!

> We engaged Mountainwood Homes for a whole house extensive remodel. We had very high standards and very specific requirements, and Mountainwood's team of professionals met and exceeded every expectation. The finished product is stunningly beautiful and exactly what we envisioned. The team at Mountainwood was always professional, responsible, and on top of all that, cheerful and courteous at all times. That is remarkably rare and very valuable to homeowners! We would hire Mountainwood again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

**Comment from Mountainwood Homes:**

> Thank you for sharing your remodeling experience. We appreciate your collaboration and partnership throughout the process. Thanks!

> These guys were great to work with all the way around!! I highly recommend Mountainwood Homes for your remodeling needs!!

**Comment from Mountainwood Homes:**

> Thank you for the nice review! Your kitchen refresh turned out great, and we hope you continue to enjoy the improvements!

**★★★★★ — M H, May 2022**

> Mountainwood homes, and every employee I interacted with, made me feel safe and confident as I undertook a huge remodel to a master bathroom and another full bathroom. This project required we empty our closets and move out of our bedrooms during construction.
>
> I investigated 6 different companies/contractors for my project before choosing Mountainwood. The deciding factor was not price (Mountainwood came in in the middle of the pack) but comfort and confidence that they would take care of my home and my project in a professional manner.
>
> My concern with security and confidence stems from a 2014 remodel where the contractor cut corners and my home suffered a catastrophic flood (which resulted in our family being out of our home for much longer than planned, caused a lot of negative consequences on family relationships and brought a lot of stress and anxiety--it was awful).
>
> When we finally found the courage to tackle another remodel in 2021, Mountainwood was by far the most thoughtful, detailed, careful and attentive contractor we met. Our entire experience was positive and the finished bathrooms are wonderful and add significant value to our home. I cannot recommend Mountainwood highly enough.

**Comment from Mountainwood Homes:**

> Thank you for sharing your kind words. We're glad you had a great remodeling experience. We enjoyed working with you!

**★★★★★ — stacey fisher, Oct. 2020**

> Just finished our 2nd remodel with Mountainwood Homes and we couldn't be happier. We had to remove all the carpet due to allergies so they replaced and matched the current hardwoods and they are gorgeous, like "how did we not do this sooner?" gorgeous! They also replaced our old smokey wood burning stove with a new gas fireplace that we spend all of our time in front of! Our Mountainwood designer Darby designed the most beautiful mantel with a "smurf tube" to hide the cables that went from the back of the tv to new hidden built-in shelves where we now keep the cable box and gaming systems. It's now our favorite room of the house just in time for the holidays, can't wait to decorate for Christmas!
>
> The craftsmanship is so beautiful. but the people are what made us come back to them for a second remodel. From the owner Robert to our project manager David and designer Darby to Gaspar who was here every day working hard with a huge smile - we're huge fans and recommend Mountainwood Homes to everyone who asks. Check out the before and after's: https://www.mountainwoodhomes.com/radio/ CALL THEM. You'll be so happy with your new space!

Their design team to not only assisted with design choices and detailed selections for construction -but keep us on budget. This Mountainwood process along with their proven experience allows for excellent communication, meeting of deadlines and budgets and the best final results.
> Our 30 year old homes looks and feels brand new. Our first dinner party, allowed us to show off the results and our friends were so impressed with he quality construction and innovative design selections but best of all we are so pleased and happy with our new remodel thank you Mountainwood Homes.

**★★★★★ — Rick Lewis, Sept. 2019**

> We choose Mountainwood Homes to do our window replacement because of their great reputation. They did not let us down, Our project manager made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. Every one of the crews was professional and polite. We enjoyed having all of them around. While it could have been a major inconvenience and major mess, they were careful to make sure everything was clean and neat. We love the new windows and we feel like they were perfectly installed. I would recommend Mountainwood Homes for any remodeling project.

**Comment from Mountainwood Homes:**

> Thanks for the great feedback! New windows just in time for the cooler weather!

**★★★★★ — brenmiles, Aug. 2019**

> They did an excellent job on our bathroom and kitchen remodels and continue to exceed my expectations. I called to ask if they had a handyman that they would recommend to install some hardware in my home. Adam from Mount Wood called me the next day and set up a time to look at it and schedule an install time. I never expected they would take care of it for me.
> Rich

**Comment from Mountainwood Homes:**

> Thanks for the kind review, Rich! Hopefully Adam can get everything taken care of for you. Please let us know if we can help with anything else. Thank you!

**★★★★★ — Sharon Hocking INTERIOR DESIGN, Feb. 2019**

> I am an interior designer. When I design a space, typically an update or remodel, it is crucial to find a contractor who can make the design come to life. My client is trusting me to bring them the best resources to get their project completed. How thankful I was to meet Heather from Mountainwood homes. We have collaborated on two remodels so far, with more to come.
> Mountainwood homes has restored my faith in contractors. The team at Mountainwood homes knows how to get a remodel completed on time, on budget, and with open communication.
> I highly recommend Mountainwood homes as a company that works like a family to complete beautiful spaces for their clients!

**★★★★★ — K Wilson, May 2018**

> We highly recommend Mountainwood Homes. Their team did terrific work remodeling our house and we are very happy with their work.
>
> The designers were super at guiding us through all the selections and decisions for the remodeled master bath, laundry, updated lighting, paint, new doors and more. The team's attention to detail, organizational skills and clear communication kept the project on schedule with great results. Everyone we met was professional and courteous. They patiently answered questions throughout the project, which went very smoothly. They are very good at what they do.
>
> We will certainly call them again for our next project. Thank you, nice work!

**★★★★★ — Nicki Ulrich, Oct. 2017**

> We could not be happier with the entire project start to finish. We've had other projects done, and now wish we had used Mountainwood for those projects, too! They are the best of the best, and we have found our contractors for life. Every single person we worked with or that came into our home was truly happy to be working for Mountainwood, and it showed. The level of expertise, knowledge, courtesy, and craftsmanship was incredible. If you are searching for a contractor, then search no more. This company is amazing!

**★★★★★ — Tierney Kraft, April 2017**

> Mountainwood Homes did a downstairs (kitchen, floors, powder room) remodel for us in early 2017. We highly recommend them! Not only was the final outcome beautiful and high quality, but the entire process was very smooth. The design that was created was absolutely brilliant...it really gave us a nice open feeling to our kitchen while still providing a huge area for entertaining, lots of cabinet space and an efficient work flow. The designers who helped with selecting materials were wonderful...they were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and patient. The selection process was really a fun experience and we love everything we chose. We had an amazing project manager and he ensured that the actual work on our house went smoothly. He was there every day and had great communication with both us and the contractors. We were always comfortable with the contractors Mountainwood chose and they all were very reliable. An important part of a remodel is sticking to the original schedule. Mountainwood Homes did an outstanding job with this...the proposed schedule was 10-12 weeks and they finished in 9 weeks (even after some big snow storms at the beginning of the project). Mountainwood Homes is a class act! We would definitely use them again and/or recommend them to friends.

**★★★★★ — larryhelmke, Sept. 2016**

> Robert and Heather Wood started this business 8+ years ago, with a tag line of "Building Clients for Life"....we might be their poster children!! Started with a kitchen remodel, then a Master bedroom/bathroom "spa", then an outdoor dream deck...then a start from scratch, wonderful full-scale beach house along the Oregon Coast. Obviously we love their work, and consider them friends, but it is the intangible word TRUST that defines our relationship. Conversations occur weekly (daily?) day-or-night, and no item is too small to discuss and "get right". But the best example isn't one of the various projects....on a Sunday morning, we noted a small trail of water coming from our hot water heater in the garage. We called Robert to get a recommendation on who to call to investigate....and he said, "let me stop by after Church"....and fixed it!! Truly the BEST!!

**Comment from Mountainwood Homes:**

> Thank you so much for the nice review. We treasure our friendship with you both, and could not have grown our business to what it is today without your continual support for all things Mountainwood. Whenever we receive a referral that you've sent our way, we know they're going to be awesome clients. The word 'partnership' comes to mind when we think about the various projects we've collaborated on over the years because you both have been alongside us the whole way to come up with inspiring, dream projects for us to execute. Thank you, thank you!

**★★★★★ — jeaniev57, Dec. 2015**

> We have only wonderful things to say about Mountainwood Homes, after hiring them for 3 projects between May 2013 and Sept 2015. The work is high quality craftsmanship and we really appreciated that work was completed on time! Compared to our neighbors who complain about contractors who don't show up when they are supposed to - Mountainwood was excellent at communicating with us and over 3 projects we always finished on schedule. The staff at Mountainwood is top notch, from the design team to the project managers! The designers gave us confidence in our product choices, and the project managers were truly gems in their patience and thoroughness in the day-to-day questions and problem-solving that come up with large projects. Since completing our first project (our biggest), we knew that all future remodel projects would be done by Mountainwood. Projects include: kitchen, powder room, laundry room, entry way, wallpaper removal & painting, and flooring. Can't wait to tackle more with Mountainwood's help!

**Comment from Mountainwood Homes:**

> Thanks for the great feedback! We appreciate your partnership and are so glad you've had a great experience with our team. The remodels sure do get easier when the relationship is established and strong! We look forward to working with you both again soon! Thanks for being awesome clients and trusting us with your home.

**★★★★★ — etoyama, Nov. 2015**

> Mountianwood Homes recently finished what we call our "House Face lift". We are the original owner of our home that was built in the early 90's and had not done more that paint a few rooms over those 20+ years. We love our neighborhood and our house so it made sense to remodel.
>
> There tag line of "On time and on budget" as well as the "Building clients for life" originally caused me to seek them out at the home remodel shows. We attended the 2 big remodel shows here in the Portland area. We found the Mountainwood booth at the first show we met Jean, a designer, and Robert the owner. They took our information and we went on our way. At the second show, a few weeks later, Jean remember our name when we came up to the booth and the projects we wanted to do. We were very impressed and moved into the bidding phase with them. We did have multiple bids out for the work, but our job had a hard 7 week time frame that was not movable. Mountainwood was confident they could deliver what we needed in our time frame.
>
> We updated our kitchen with new counter tops, backslash, sink, and appliances. They refinished the hardwood floors downstairs that were severely cupped due to an issue before we bought the house. The floors are so flat and smooth now it is amazing. We also did all of our bathrooms. New custom cabinet in the powder bath were a pedestal sink was, our guest bath got new flooring, granite counter tops, backslash, under mount sinks, and lights. However, our master bath was the biggest and best transition.
>
> Being built in the early 90's our master bath had carpet and a huge built in jetted tub with a tiny dark shower stall. Now we have an amazing modern, spa like bathroom. Huge shower, soaking tub and tile floor. We also put a cabinet in were there was wasted space. The transformation was amazing.
>
> Our lead project manager/contractor, Greg, is now like part of the family. Our dog gets excited to see him. I can't say enough about the people we worked with from Mountainwood and the subs they hire. The whole team worked together to make sure to do the best work possible.
>
> How was our experience? Mountainwood did exactly what they said they would do, they were on time, on budget, and made a client for life. I look forward to our next project with them.

**Comment from Mountainwood Homes:**

> Thank you so much for your review! We loved working with your family on the home updates and hope you'll enjoy them for years to come. The home looks beautiful! You are part of the big Mountainwood family as well!

**★★★★★ — harrison0102, Oct. 2015**

> Mountainwood Homes was the right company
> for my remodel. The remodel of my kitchen and bathrooms was well orchestrated beginning to end. The planner, estimator, Ivan listened to my vision and diligently communicated his understanding to the designers, Heather and Sierra. They made my

> the answers. The subcontractors were on time and extremely competent. Each phase of the work was over seen by Greg and each day closed with detailed cleanliness. The granite cutter was precise, what skill! The tile
> man, the plumbers, everyone worked tirelessly.
> Everyone I came in contact with was professional, well mannered, kind and enthusiastic. It was a pleasant experience,
> done as I wanted. A job well done, gorgeous!
> Mountainwood Homes has my highest praise
> and I plan on working with them again!

**Comment from Mountainwood Homes:**

> Thank you for your kind review! It was such a pleasure to help you through the process, and your kitchen turned out gorgeous! We can't wait to collaborate with you again on your next project! Thank you!

**★★★★★ — Colleen, Aug. 2015**

> We met the staff of Mountainwood Homes at the home and garden show. We liked them immediately for their professional appearance and engaging interview style of determining our needs. They asked many questions, took notes, and by the time we got home from the show, there was a follow-up call on our answering machine. We talked to many other re-modelers that day, and this is the one we liked best and the one that followed up with us.
>
> Our goal was to rejuvenate our kitchen. We had our house built in 1991 and wanted to upgrade and replace appliances, sink, and faucet; add an exhaust hood over the island cook top, refinish cabinets, refinish hardwood floors throughout the main level, add a couple cabinets, add french doors, add a water heating pump at the kitchen sink, and replace counter tops. Within a short time of meeting with the Mountainwood Homes owner, project manager, and designer, we had a plan and cost projection. After signing the contract we were eager to get started. We met with the designer several times to select all replacements and the demolition started as soon as everything was on site.
>
> The project took two months to complete which was one month longer than originally anticipated. And most of the delay was related to our dissatisfaction with the products we had selected. Granite and tile the issues. Another issue was a discovery of dry rot when baseboards were removed to refinish floors. The entire team was patient as we changed our minds, selected new granite and back splash and expanded the project to include the dry rot repairs.
>
> And the end result was worth every extra minute it took and every dollar we paid. They were as interested in our satisfaction as we were and constantly checked in with us to make sure we liked what we were seeing. We are thrilled with our new kitchen. The appliances add a professional dimension to the kitchen that matches our style of cooking. The cabinets are classic with their modified design and updated color. The granite provides the solid surface counter top and blends so beautifully with the back splash and cabinet stain. The refinished floors look new again. The new french doors keep the warmth of the fireplace in our family room during those cool winter evenings. And the professional exhaust hood is perfect for letting the neighbors know that we are cooking gourmet!
>
> Thank you Mountainwood Homes for the wonderful work!

**★★★★★ — portlandfamily2010, July 2015**

> Mountainwood Homes is an outstanding team of professionals from start to finish! We couldn't be happier with our kitchen and powder bath remodels, new mudroom, and staircase. They provided accurate estimates of both total cost and completion schedule. Everyone on the team was super nice to work with as well as professional and reliable. All of the contractors they hired were top-notch. They arrived on time, were respectful, and cleaned up their messes. The ONE exception was handled professionally and timely to ensure the job was completed correctly and still on schedule. Lee did an extraordinary job of managing the project! And Heather was invaluable in making design choices. We can't imagine having done this project without them!

**★★★★ — Carol Fenton, July 2015**

> The kitchen has turned out lovely and we're enjoying our custom wine bar that was previously a desk that was never used!

**★★★★★ — Jaymi Elford, March 2014**

> We contracted Mountainwood Homes to help us redesign our kitchen. They were amazing! They listened to every thing we saw wrong with that space and then they took our information and improved upon our ideas. Everyone who visited our house to work with our space was a professional and made sure we were satisfied. When our Project Manager left our house for the last time, my husband and I were bummed; they became part of our extended family. We definitely hope they'll work on other projects soon!

**★★★★★ — Jason Ball Interior Design, Dec. 2013**

> As an interior designer, it is important I work with companies I can trust to implement my designs. My clients hired Mountainwood Homes to remodel their home and I could not have been more pleased with their involvement in the project. I was able to communicate my designs to the construction team and know they would be built as designed. I would highly recommend this company for any construction needs.

**★★★★★ — tomichtd, Aug. 2013**

> My husband and I were impressed with Mountainwood Homes from the start. Robert came to our home to look at the bathroom we wanted to remodel. He did a lot of listening, asked questions, told us about the company, and left us a professional brochure with information about Mountainwood. Surprisingly, this was already more than we had received from the previous two contractors who had been out. When he came back, he had rough plans and a detailed estimate, which was less than the previous contractors, neither of which were even going to move any walls.
>
> Another big selling point was assistance from their design team, lead by Heather. What worried me most before we began was making so many decisions, large and small, especially with regard to materials. I actually enjoyed the process! Heather was so organized. She made appointments for us at the different suppliers, kept track of our choices and kept us on budget. Most of all, she helped me make decisions that kept the room in harmony overall.
>
> Throughout the process, we had a good experience with every encounter of every member of their staff.
>
> Our project manager, Ivan, was always courteous, on time, respectful, helpful and resourceful. We trust him completely. He managed the project according to the timeline and was very patient when we had a few changes of mind along the way.
>
> They hired excellent subcontractors who were also polite, timely and considerate of our home and family while they were here. Their work was outstanding.
>
> We cannot say enough good things about Mountainwood Homes. We highly recommend them for any project!

**★★★★★ — Jackson H. Interiors, LLC, Feb. 2013**

> Mountain Wood renovated our Master Bath and Guest Bath and we love them both!! We relocated here from Atlanta less than a year before our renovation so we were really at the mercy of the few people we got to know here to recommend a good contractor. Thanks to Kreig from Cutting Edge Custom Cabinetry we found Mountain Wood. Before my second career of motherhood I was an engineer and project manager for a very large commercial construction company for nearly 20 years. Needless to say I have worked with contractors and subcontractors that were great, horrible and everywhere in between and to say I am aware of the details is an understatement. Mountain Wood is one of the best I have worked with both professionally and personally. Did I mention this is the fifth house I have renovated??? Their knowledge of the trades and their ability to execute our plan on time and within budget was nothing short of fantastic. The guys were amazingly respectful of our home and the fact that we were living through a renovation with two year old twins. We were able to live in our home for the duration of the projects without feeling like we were living on a construction site. They did a great job of keeping the mess and materials contained in the actual construction area. I would and have recommended them to anyone looking for a contractor. Whether your project is one room or an entire house Mountain Wood is the best contractor for your space. We are looking forward to spring when Mountain Wood will be back with us to rebuild and expand our deck.

> Mountainwood Homes performed magic on our 1986 galley kitchen. On Joel's first visit, he saw what the other contractors missed: what we thought was a bearing wall was only holding up the balcony. Reducing the size of this underused space allowed expansion of the kitchen below and removal of an unnecessary hallway. The dated drop ceiling and recessed light panel were replaced with a vaulted ceiling and hanging track lighting. Even though the original attic space above the range had access to the roof, the hood was not vented. The old electric range had a downdraft that never worked well and a small oven. The new kitchen sports an island gas cooktop, overhead vent with a chimney extending up through the vaulted ceiling, and a 30" wall convection oven. Heather provided great design with granite, backsplash, paint, and fixtures. Cabinetry by Cutting Edge was a perfect fit. We also extended the hardwood flooring into the dining room. The Mountainwood team was flexible as changes were needed, finished the project on time and produced great results.
