> Janice and Sara are a fabulous team! They helped me do a full-house remodel from design through construction. They have beautiful design ideas and can accommodate various styles. Throughout the design process, they listened to my opinions and tweaked selections accordingly. They truly wanted me to enjoy the process and be happy with the end result. I appreciate that they were there during the entire construction process; they saw the project to the end!
>
> My top favorite thing about Next Level Austin, apart from their gorgeous designs obviously, is that they hustle. They are extremely responsive to phone calls and text messages, very rarely did I get their voicemail. They were always in my corner and found solutions when problems arose. I would highly recommend them for any interior design needs from furniture to a gut remodel.

> Over the course of a two-year whole-house remodel and expansion, we had the pleasure of working with Next Level Austin and, in particular, Janice Hanks. From the very beginning, Janice and her team demonstrated exceptional creativity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
>
> They collaborated seamlessly with our architect, builder, and family to create a cohesive vision that unified every aspect of the project. From selecting exterior and interior color palettes to roofing, flooring, cabinetry, tile, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and hardware, Next Level guided us through every decision with confidence and remarkable taste.
>
> What impressed us most was their ability to balance beauty with functionality. Every recommendation reflected our personal style while elevating the overall design beyond what we could have imagined ourselves. The final design book they created tied the entire project together and became an invaluable roadmap throughout construction and furnishing.
>
> Even after construction was completed, the Next Level team continued helping us select and place furniture, rugs, pillows, and dining pieces that completed the home perfectly. The standout feature of the entire project is our custom coffee bar, which has become the centerpiece of our home and a favorite of every guest who visits.
>
> We could not be more pleased with the results and highly recommend Next Level to anyone seeking outstanding interior design services.

> Kicked off a couple of projects with NLA and have been so happy to have their expertise, project planning, design skills and support. They coordinated everything from start to finish - design ideas, selections, coordinating bids, timelines, contractors, install dates, and came onsite during construction to make sure everything was on schedule and being executed according to the vision we had laid out together for the project. We're already working on the next project (master bathroom), and as you can imagine that's a huge undertaking but it has been extremely seamless. I can't actually imagine getting any of these home projects done on my own. I'm very happy with my choice to hire NLA for my projects and would recommend them to anyone looking to do some work in their home. They are professional and their fees are reasonable. They are diligent in the amount of time they spend on tasks for your project. Give them a call if you are looking for a full service design firm

> Janice and her team have created unique livable spaces in multiple rooms in my home. The living spaces are comfortable when I am at home and welcoming when filled with friends and family. The rooms are elegant with just the right touch of charm. Janice listened to my ideas and used them to create spaces that I truly enjoy. She has insightful design ideas and a great eye for colors and textures to make the spaces snap. Janice is dynamic, creative and a pleasure to work with.

> My design consultant at Next Level Austin was Stacy Draper, and I can honestly say that I could not have completed my project without her consultation. This was my first renovation, and I decided to go all in with a complete home remodel. Stacy was so helpful and patient as she helped me redesign my entire house. Stacy is a genius at picking the right materials and having them all work together beautifully, and going on shopping excursions with Stacy was not just educational and informative but fun! If you are considering a home remodel, you can't go wrong with Next Level Austin and Stacy Draper.

**★★★★★ — Dana Jones, Jan. 2023**

> Hiring Next Level Austin was one of the best decisions we made in building our new home. They turned our very "generic" design into a beautiful home on our modest budget. The "pops" of personality in the mantel, ceiling fans, fixtures, and wallpaper are what people compliment most when they come to our home. We had no idea where to place light switches and outlets and Sara handled all of that for us. From the first stages of designing our home to the final light fixtures, Next Level Austin reduced the stress of building a new home and gave us a more beautiful home than we imagined possible.

**★★★★★ — Susan McBrayer, Oct. 2021**

> Janice Hanks is either a magician or an artistic genius. Her vision for renovating and furnishing a home we purchased during this crazy Spring of 2021 has been completed, and we have the home of which we DREAMED! Janice's vision, along with Anne Potter's, our Project Manager, has been a work in progress for 6 months, but even during a pandemic, the hard work paid off. Sometimes the finishing touches on a home (like built-in drawers in a wall with space behind it) are the key to making it distinctive. We found that Anne and Janice's vision of color, texture, and furniture placement was exactly what we needed to make our home unique and one-of-a-kind. Our dining room wall-to-wall built-ins give our home something particularly valuable in adding storage that is uniquely beautiful as well as functional. To our surprise, the vision even fit within our budgetary restrictions. Having been in Austin for years, the Next Level team knows how to find the sub-contractors who do beautiful work for an affordable price. Additionally, knowing where to place our Steinway grand piano was challenging, and Janice continued to insist on her magical vision. With lighting suggestions to highlight artwork and the grand piano, we are happier than ever with her vision. Anne is a terrific Project Manager, and Kourteney Petroski rounded out the team with both administrative and drawing talents. We are WOWED!!!!!!!

**★★★★★ — Cathy M, Sept. 2021**

> When I was contemplating a major home remodel I knew I wanted Janice Hanks’ expert eye on the project. Years ago she had worked her magic on our master bath addition and created a beautiful area that still looked fresh when we sold our home sixteen years later. Our new home was built in the early 80’s with a dark paneled living area and a closed-off kitchen. In just one visit, Janice and her assistant Anne had a vision for ways to open up the space and make it more suitable to our lifestyle. They also had the contacts and resources to make it a reality!
>
> Janice and her team provided support, guidance and suggestions throughout the remodeling process. From the layout of the tile to the placement of the lighting, their experience and know-how was crucial to the design outcome. There are so many questions as a project unfolds and Janice and Anne were always ready to guide me to make decisions for the best possible outcome. The creative talent and positive energy of this team made the process a pleasure.
>
> Janice and Anne worked closely with me to select beautiful colors and finishes and my husband and I are delighted with the look and function of our “new home”. Now they are helping me pull it all together with lovely furnishings. If you are looking for quality design with timeless style then Next Level Austin is the design team for you!

**★★★★★ — Chase Kuentz, Aug. 2021**

> My wife and I were really excited to build a house, but realized after construction started that we had no idea how to stylize the house. After calling around for a few design specialists, we decided to go with Next Level Austin for their design expertise, their design styles, and professionalism. We worked with Janice (Principle Designer) and Sara (Project Manager) to come up with a plan about the time our framing started. We were really impressed how efficiently they worked. We had regular meetings in show rooms and at the property to make selections and brainstorm ideas. Both Sara and Janice were receptive to our feedback and also were really flexible working with our builder. Sara kept the project moving all the while staying super organized with the selections. Both Janice and Sara were very methodical and thorough to make sure everything was correct. They helped point out errors and helped rectify solutions. One example being a wrong fan down-rod size. Sara helped by sending us a replacement rod that was the correct size. Janice provided decisive design choices that made it easy for us to give thumbs up or down on different choices. Both Janice and Sara worked with our tile, lighting, painting, and flooring sub contractors to ensure things were being installed correctly. Overall, we owe a lot on how the house looks and overall appearance quality to Next Level Austin.

**★★★★★ — Pamela Hardwick, Sept. 2019**

> Janice Hanks and the design team and their subs did an amazing job on our kitchen remodel! She has such a wonderful innate sense of picking just the right paint colors from the cabinets, to the walls, beadboard on peninsula, dining room, living room, and exterior paint and trim. The design and workmanship are superb! They were definitely able to work within our budget in a timely fashion. I am still "in love" with my beautiful kitchen...certainly the heart of my home!

**★★★★★ — Kelly B, Aug. 2019**

> Janice and her team at Next Level Austin are fabulous! We have worked with them on two separate occasions, and each time they have demonstrated a commitment to understanding our wants and needs and creating a beautiful space that works for our family. Beyond that, they have deeply respected our time and budget. We highly recommend them!

**★★★★★ — Linda Connor, Dec. 2018**

> I must admit nothing is perfect, and since there isn't a say 4.5 rating I'll go all the way. If you want an excellent eye for painting - Janice Hancks has that incredible eye. Don't be afraid to let her do her magic. Janice's energy and enthusiasm for her work is contagious, she is a delight! This team of professionals have the ability to encourage you to step outside your comfort zone, at the same time as incorporating what you want in the final design. Judy Daffer has the patience of an angel, getting frustrated from time to time with rules condo living impose, Judy would figure out way to accommodate all the schedules in order to stay on track as best we could. She is also very skilled assisting with design options. We hadn't done a major project like this before; so I would recommend that you know your budget, if it is strict, or has limited flexibility that you let them know up front.

**★★★★★ — Meghan E, April 2018**

> We have been nothing but impressed with our experience with Next Level Austin. Janice and her team have worked with us during the remodel of our entire home, and have made the process as smooth and stress free as possible. Janice has been such a pleasure to work with- she picked up on my style immediately and can determine things I like before I even know I like them. I continue to be impressed with her eye for color, flow, and detail, and her energy is contagious. She is efficient and always conscientious of my time. Sara, our project manager, is organized, detail oriented, and extremely knowledgeable in both the construction and design aspects of our project. She is in constant communication with me and spent a ton of time on our job site so that I didn't have to. Danna adds invaluable insight and opinions, and even Amelia and Lauren behind the scenes have been instrumental to making this a smooth process. NLA has excellent relationships with vendors in town, and as a result always find the best options to fit our budget. Because of this team, decisions were easy and straightforward, and I never had to take a single measurement, determine a quantity, or place an order. We are so thrilled with the gorgeous house that resulted from our decision to work with NLA. We recommend this group wholeheartedly!

**Comment from Next Level Austin:**

> Meghan,
> On behalf of our entire team, thank you so much for your kind words. You and Matt have been a delight to work with, and it has been an honor to help you create your dream home!

**★ — Bethany Waldron, March 2018**

> I met with this company for a consultation but knew within minutes of their arrival that I could not hire them; Not only did they not provide an estimate for the work to be completed yet wanted me to blindly sign a contract but also... there is no nice way to say this... I found the owner to be incredibly rude. I knew exactly what I wanted as part of my remodel but she found a way to repeatedly insult me, talk over me and ignore my questions. Honestly, I found her assistant to be much more helpful and wondered if this is how the owner treats everyone how in the world this company retains any business. Having this experience with the owner, for my remodeling needs, I will always look elsewhere.

**Comment from Next Level Austin:**

> I’m sorry that Ms. Waldron felt that her complimentary design consultation was a negative experience.
> As a design professional with over 30 years overseeing complex remodels, I appreciate the financial and emotional investment that a client makes in deciding to work with Next Level. I work hard to gain my clients’ trust and to exceed their expectations in terms of both design and customer service. When a potential client contacts us as Ms. Waldron did, I offer an initial consultation at no charge. Ms. Waldron contacted our office on a Friday and, due to her limited availability, I arranged my schedule to meet with her on the following Monday. During the consultation, I remember spending over an hour walking through and discussing possibilities for the space, including the kitchen and master bath layouts, ideas for two living areas, and determining the best location for a home office. While it is always my intention to listen and respond to a client’s wishes for their home, I also offer multiple perspectives based on my experience with design, timelines, and budgets. Our clients are usually pleased to receive so much information and expertise at no cost. Often they are delighted to be presented with options that they might never have considered. While I regret that Ms. Waldron felt unheard, I do not believe that my manner was in any way disrespectful or dismissive of her wishes.
> Ms. Waldron noted in her review that Next Level did not provide an estimate for work to be completed. I take my clients’ budgets very seriously and am determined to provide clear, accurate assessments of project costs. This takes time, and in the case of a major remodel like Ms. Waldron’s, a general contractor would be required to provide an estimate for the majority of the work required. When I learned that Ms. Waldron did not already have a general contractor in mind, I explained to her that Next Level partners with several trusted local contractors and that the next step, should she decide to work with us, would be to meet with a contractor and begin getting estimates on the work.
> Once a project’s scope of work is clearly defined, Next Level does as standard practice estimate the number of design and project management hours that will be required and include that figure as part of a client’s personalized contract. We also create detailed proposals for all materials or items to be purchased by Next Level on behalf of the client, and no purchases are made without prior approval by the client. Our clients appreciate the transparency of our processes and our close attention to established budgets.
> Ms. Waldron also states that Next Level asked her to “blindly sign” a contract. This is simply not true. Two days after our meeting, I sent an email to Ms. Waldron expressing gratitude for her choice to contact Next Level and for the opportunity to meet with her. I attached a PDF version of our contract, as many of our clients appreciate the opportunity to review our policies and operating procedures in detail before they finalize their decision to work with us. My email stated, “I’m attaching a copy of our standard client agreement for your review. Should you decide to work with NLA, we would collaborate with you to turn the notes taken during our meeting into a project memo that would be attached to your contract.” As was explained in my meeting with Ms. Waldron, we never request signature of a contract until the final scope of work has been determined and we have compiled a comprehensive project memo. Only after a client has decided to hire us do we create a contract, attach the project memo, and email it to them to be docu-signed.
> Unfortunately, Ms. Waldron never responded to my email following our consultation. I certainly take very seriously her complaints, as one of the guiding principles of Next Level is to provide not only excellence of design, but also an unparalleled customer service experience. As our multiple five-star reviews, awards, and repeat clients attest, our team works hard every day to ensure that our clients are beyond pleased with their decision to hire us and with the results of their projects. I regret that Ms. Waldron was disappointed with her experience and wish her the best with her remodel.

> Janice, Judy and the entire NLA team did a superb job of guiding our transformation of our new Austin home! Their exceptional network of contractors and suppliers, their expertise with colors and materials, their thoughtful suggestions large and small, and their sense of humor made what is always a stressful experience (particularly as we were living in the home throughout the process) manageable. We are absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out and have already hosted two events to rave reviews from friends and colleagues! We are very glad we retained NLA and give them our highest recommendation to anyone in need of their services - true to their name, they absolutely helped us take our new home to the next level!

**Comment from Next Level Austin:**

> Thanks Knox and Debbie! We enjoyed working with you too.

**★★★★★ — Colin F, Dec. 2017**

> A big thanks to the folks at NLA for their energy, ideas, network and their direct support in a complete renovation of our kitchen and living room. After we talked through what we were looking for, they brought all the pieces together to make it happen including the architect, the contractor and the design to bring it all home, ultimately culminating in a beautiful result!

**★★★★★ — Leslie Fears Bollier, Dec. 2017**

> Janice and Judy at Next Level Austin (along with Dana and the entire team) are simply amazing!! I really needed help redecorating my home. I needed an update to blend in with my favorites and special pieces. Janice and her team worked tirelessly to make my new pieces, eclectic taste and old pieces work together and we now have an amazingly decorated home! They simply have done a remarkable job. They listened and also provided exceptional design experience and also service. I needed my project largely completed by the holiday and Janice, Judy and Dana went above and beyond to make it happen. They are so detail driven and customer driven- truly professional. The entire team is also simply delightful to work with. I simply cannot give them a higher recommendation.

**★★★★★ — Linda Shafer, Jan. 2017**

> Recently, both full bathrooms in my house were completely remodeled. I chose NextLevel Austin to create the design and oversee the contracting. They did an outstanding job. Janice Hanks and Judy Daffer are talented professionals and a joy with work with. My husband and I are so pleased that we are considering another project with them. I highly recommend NextLevel Austin!

**★★★★★ — Churchill's Fireside & Patio, Nov. 2016**

> Janice at Next Level Austin is the BEST! I have an several opportunities to work with her on different projects and each one is simply flawless. Constantly on the cusp of progressive design; next level is able to create modern, contemporary, rustic, traditional, any design that is out there Janice and her team have done. Definitely a must-consult for your design needs in austin.

**★★★★★ — Lisa\_Dow1, Nov. 2016**

> Next Level has helped with several projects over the years including remodel of most rooms in my home. They are always very responsive and are careful to work within the budget I have set out. They also have a great network of people they work with and always stand behind their work. I have worked with them since 2004 and have been very pleased!

**★★★★★ — good\_and\_happy, Nov. 2016**

> I've worked with Janice's shop before on an occasional room or two but this is my first major full-house renovation. So pleased! She has assembled a skilled, responsible, communicative team, and steers it with forthrightness, accountability, and a creative, practical scheme. She's a genius at color/light/texture and first-quality products, but respects a budget as well. She listens to our ideas and takes our taste seriously, nudging us toward the adventuresome but keeping me out of trouble when I venture too far into whimsy. We wouldn't have considered launching this project without her. \[No photos yet because several finishing tasks are still underway.\]

**★★★★★ — Rodmance, Oct. 2016**

> I hired Next Level Austin to bring my family room to a more sophisticated style. Starting carte blanche and from some ideas I had, they are in the process of creating a beautiful room, with custom furniture, antique mirrors, beautiful light fixtures, cabinet and more. These ladies are an intrinsic team, in which Janice throws a fountain of wonderful ideas up in the air and Dana catches them and makes them work,. Their collective eye for color, fabric, texture and material choices is always exciting and their sense of spacing is spot on. They both listen to what you say, and follow up with inspiring ideas. They're very fun to work with but professional and efficient with their time, hire excellent sub contractors and have a very proficient and friendly team to back them up, enabling them to proceed in a timely manner.
>
> I have been so pleased with their services, that I referred them to my mother-in-law, to redecorating the kitchen and master bedroom of her mid century house. It's in the very early stages at this point but is promising to look stunning!!
>
> I highly recommend them - they're awesome ladies to work with.

> Janice came in to totally redo my house. it was a 2006 house with no paint or updates since then. this was in preparation of selling it. The house is over $2 million and this was not a small job. it involved most every trade. She did an excellent job and I believe greatly enhanced the sales value. She dealt with numerous trades -- sub contractors. Everyone who has seen the house definitely was super impressed. She has a great sense of what goes together and what will look good. I would whole heartedly endorse her to anyone and everyone.

**★★★★★ — HU-137026, Sept. 2015**

> Really enjoy working with Janice and her staff, they helped me totally renovate my kitchen, sitting room, dining room, master bathroom and bedroom.
> She really listened to what I wanted and gave me a home that suited my budget, style and personality. I always felt this was a partnership not a designer doing her own "thing"
> She has an amazing eye for color and her finishing touches are what really make the room special.

**★★★★★ — kristynik01, Jan. 2015**

> I highly endorse Janice Hanks and the entire Next Level Austin team! This is the second home that we have worked with Janice and team to design and they don't disappoint. Both homes had very different styles. The detail, creative recommendations, color palettes, selected furnishings, lighting fixtures etc. were spot on with my vision and made our home come alive. The Next Level team managed my project to our tight timelines, provided additional organization services that I could not have done without and made our home stunning. I would recommend Janice and the Next Level team to anyone looking for a quality designer with superb taste.

**★★★★★ — West Austin Properties, Jan. 2015**

> We use Next Level Austin in our real estate business to consult with our clients before they sell a home, to prepare it for the market, or with our buyer clients to see the design potential of a home they are about to purchase. Janice and her team have excellent taste and can oversee any design project large or small. Many of my clients use Next Level to personalize their new homes. They can do everything from suggesting paint colors and ordering new flooring to a complete redesign. They will even oversee the project start to finish. I highly recommend Next Level Austin.

**★★★★★ — tedstew, Aug. 2014**

> I cant say enough about Next Level Austin. I looked at many interior designers when we moved to Austin. I instantly fell in love with Janice, Dana, and her team. They were very professional and I felt like she immediately captured the vision of what I wanted. Janice was able to give me many options on how to keep the cost down without sacrificing the quality I was looking for. Another thing that really helped me was that she was able to bring the items to my house and I was able to see what it would look like in my house before I even purchased the item. I originally hired her to design my living room. I loved the finished look so much that we went on to redesign my dinning room, my kitchen, my entryway, my staircase, and we are currently working on the flooring in my master bedroom, stairs, and upstairs landing. I love working with Janice and Dana. I feel like they know how to design with class and sophistication. I plan on using Next Level Austin for years to come.
