> We have worked with Daniel Builders on several projects. We've used them repeatedly because of the quality of the work they've done for us. Additionally, at the end of each day, they clean up, so you never walk into an enormous mess. All the subcontractors they use are polite, respectful of your home, show up on time and do fabulous work. Daniel Builders may not give you the lowest quote, but they don't play any games with their numbers either and often come in under budget, which they pass on to you. There are never any surprise overruns and they always finish on or before the deadline they give. Their team make you comfortable and you can trust them. If they find an issue, it's not made up, they walk you through their findings and work with you to find the best solution. They are craftsmen who take pride in their work and care about their customers long term relationship. We've been more than happy with our experience with them and would strongly recommend them for any project, large or small.

> I began communications with Daniel Builders to renovate a five bedroom home. They initially approached me to decide on a budget and I told them that the range could be so drastic that I really wanted to figure out designs for three areas that were up in air and could end up costing a lot or a little depending on how much work was done and how many changes were made. I entered an agreement with them to come up with designs for those three areas.
> Meanwhile I had asked them for estimates on repairing two areas of my roof and for fixing my front steps and drainage in front of my house. The quote for the roof was $2200. I was on a deadline to get it fixed and ended up calling another roofer who only charged me $150 for the repairs. Half of the details that we spoke about weren't on the estimate for the front steps which made me start to have concerns. They also didn't break down any of the details of the prices.
> The 1st draft of the design didn't include my requests for what I wanted for two out of the three areas that we discussed and only one of three revisions was done. I spoke to Daniel about being unhappy with the fact that two of the three things I requested were completely left out and requested to meet with another person to try to get ideas for a new layout. After meeting with the alternate design person who did offer some good ideas, I told her my concerns about them not including any details. Her response was "they simply don't have time for that". I.E. they weren't willing to tell me the price of replacing cabinets and floors versus not replacing cabinets and floors.
> Daniel contacted me the next day saying that he felt like I wasn't happy and maybe they weren't a good fit and he would speak to the designer about refunding part of my money. I agreed that we weren't a good fit and was open to the possibility of a refund. They decided to keep over half of my money for less than a third of the work promised.
> Be prepared to give them free reign on your wallet if you decide to work with them.

**Comment from Daniel Builders, Inc.:**

> Your honest feedback is greatly valued. While we sincerely regret being unable to clarify and fulfill your expectations, we deeply desire to build trust. We recognize building trust is a process that sometimes requires simply acknowledging when a client or project isn’t a good fit with Daniel Builders. In this scenario that was the case. We also recognize the higher-than-average cost associated with the level of planning, quality, and warranty characteristic of Daniel Builders.
> Regarding our process, there is a fee associated with Design services. This fee ensures a client receives architectural plans, a detailed scope, an accurate quote and the right information to confidently move forward with construction. Midway, through the Design process, we regretfully realized your expectations and our expectations did not match.
> Our sincere hope is your project turns out well! We wish you all the best moving forward.

> We recently renovated our master bathroom and two other bathrooms at the same time. It was no small feat. We had interviewed seven companies and Daniel Builders earned our trust through our months of search. They patiently worked with us until we were comfortable with every detail on our scope and quote as well as spending time to really listened to our ideas and worked closely with us to bring our visions to reality. Our project manager Wendi Carson, took great care in protecting our home during the renovation. Everyone who came through our home treated our home with respect. We were well-informed each day with each progress and our questions and concerns were always addressed immediately.
> Most importantly, Daniel Builders cares as much about our experience throughout the process as the quality of the final product they deliver and the company stands behind its work. The final product is beyond our expectation. We love and enjoy the beautifully-built bathrooms that have now become great retreats in our home.

> Why there was a minor hiccup in the beginning matching the brick color for foundation, everything else was excellent. David was always communicative in scheduling and coordinating the project and a pleasure to work with. I know we were very patient with planning the end result and are extremely pleased with everything. Thank you very much.

> I have used Daniel Builders to provide services on several residential projects at my home. I was delighted with the work done and decided to use Daniel Builders to handle the work for a business project.
>
> I own commercial property in Downtown Anderson, South Carolina. I needed to renovate a second story and meet the building code and meet the requirements of the lessee as well as maintain the "look and feel" of an historical property. I contracted with Daniel Builders as my one-stop provider of services. They have great standing and relationships with the City of Anderson and that, in addition to my own experience, was a deciding factor in choosing Daniel Builders.
>
> Their team inspected the site and outlined a detailed scope of work and timing and cost. The scope included lead paint remediation, “real” plastering, painting/staining, new electrical service/wiring/lighting, rough-in and finish plumbing, door installation/lockset, exterior hand rails, and some minor structural work.
>
> The services were completed on time even though there were many “discoveries” which are part of working with and old structure (can you say possum skeleton in an old utility chase?) Daniel Builders assigns a Project Manager to each job. The Project Manager visits the site, works with the subs and is the source of a continuous stream of updates. I had two one-week trips during the course of the work and I was very at ease knowing that the Project Manager understood my needs and expectations and was not only supervising the work but was my “eyes and ears” on the tasks at hand.
>
> The building is a 100 years old and and an historical property. Daniel Builders found a way to bring the building up to code and retain its “personality” and all at a reasonable cost.
>
> The lessee moved in on time without a hitch and I am enjoying the upgrades to the building (not to mention positive cash flow.) Downtown has an excess of office space but my building was made very desirable based on its history and the renovation work. I had no shortage of folks wanting to lease the space.
>
> Daniel Builders handles challenging jobs extremely well and will my “go to” professionals for future work!

**★★★★★ — tay5885, Oct. 2016**

> Love Daniel Builders!! David Bass was our project manager and he couldn't have been more professional and kind!! Goes above and beyond the call of duty and takes his job very seriously; and even though he had several other projects going on at the same time, he treated ours as if it was his only one. Extremely impressed, and will definitely use DB again for future projects! You definitely get what you pay for.

**★★★★★ — Adair Powell, Oct. 2016**

> After meeting with several contractors, we hired Daniel Builders to remodel our kitchen. Daniel was the only contractor that showed up on time and in a timely manner to give me a quote. He showed professionalism right from the start! His customer service team and our project manager were knowledgeable and caring. The workmanship of our kitchen is outstanding and is guaranteed for life. I am so pleased with the outcome and the process to get there. Wendi Carson, designer and project manager, was helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. The team showed up on time, were courteous, and cleaned up after their work for the day. The whole process was easy and seamless. They strived to stay on budget and did! No easy task in a kitchen overhaul. I would use them again in a heartbeat! Outstanding company!

> In 2015 Daniel Builders added a 10'x6' addition to our master bathroom. This involved a very complicated roof connection. We are extremely pleased with the meticulous attention they paid to every aspect of the project. They utilized our existing cabinetry and put in a tile shower and floor. They worked with us to get every detail the way we wanted it and helped us in the design/layout. They also replaced our entire roof and gutters and did an excellent job. (A previous roofing contractor did a terrible job only 12 years ago.) The job is outstanding. It turned out even better than we imagined and exactly within the budget we estimated.
>
> A big plus was the fact that they were there when they said they would be and followed up on every phone call, usually the same day. All of their employees were respectful and showed care to get things done the way we wanted. We trusted all of them to be in our house when were weren't there.

> Daniel Builders first project for us was after we had water damage to our home. Their expertise and guidance were a lifesaver for us. Our kitchen was totally redone. ( hardwood floors, granite counter tops, marble subway tile backsplash, cabinets, light fixtures, new laundry room floor) Hardwood floors in living/dining were refinished to match kitchen. Daniel Builders moved all furniture and took down window treatments. The attention to detail was greatly appreciated. ( special covers were ordered for kitchen table legs to protect hardwood floors.) Next project Daniel Builders renovated our bathrooms. ( granite countertops, new sinks, faucets and hardware, tile floors regrouted to look brand new, new toilets, light fixtures and mirrors) Painting throughout the house and new den carpet were also done. Daniel Builders has done deck renovation and a French drain for our driveway. Our latest project has been new French doors and doors to our deck and garage. Work has often been done while we are out of town. We appreciate David Bass as a project manager.( great communication and attention to detail ) We highly recommend!

> My wife and I began an extensive remodeling job a few years back which another contractor did for us—we didn’t know about Daniel Builders at the time we signed the contract. When we considered phase two of our remodeling, we chose not to use the former contractor. We asked Daniel Builders to bid on the phase two project and we liked both Daniel Builders' price and their professional presentation. They went out of their way to please us in every respect. Exceptional workmanship, expertise and knowledgeable, can-do attitude, respect for our home, a cleaned workspace every day, timeliness of work, trustworthy, amazing customer service, and professional workmen. The overall job exceeded expectations. They demonstrated to us that this was not just a job for them—they took pride in doing the tasks with excellence. They did everything well and then went above and beyond. Some of the tasks they performed in our home involved carpentry, painting, hardware, light construction, garage floor coating, electrical, cabinetry, creative and artistic interior work, plumbing—each of these were exceptional. The entire crew was a great pleasure to work with. David Bass, the foreman on our home remodeling project, was as professional as they come. David actually performed many tasks personally and did an outstanding job. Warm, respectful, friendly, and thoughtful every single day. All of the members of the team were excellent workers as well. We greatly appreciate the work they did in our home even after all years have gone by. Daniel Builders truly cares about their customers and their employees take pride in their work.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Love the ceiling!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Are those sound absorbing ceiling tiles? If so, who makes them?

A: Thanks for the comment dough71. They are not sound absorbing. They are 2'x2' pvc tiles. The exact specs are unknown but easy to find online.

**Q: Did you guys build this whole house?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Everything right of the tree was an addition.

**Q: what color is that on the walls of the bedroom** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Doug,
Appreciate your question. This project was completed in 2011, and the painter was unable to recall.

**Q: My kitchen** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'd love to know more about the lights in this kitchen. Brand, where can I buy them, etc.

A: Good Afternoon lisasnead2. Thanks for the question. The lighting for this project was provided by the designer. I am afraid we don't have any info on them. Are you considering a kitchen renovation? We would love the opportunity to explore this with you. Our design/build team can assist you with selections such as lighting, and ensure you get everything right from fixtures to a finished product you love.

**Q: Cabinet color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Could you tell me the cabinet color, brand and name? We are going to paint builder grade cabinets and love the color

A: Thanks for your question realmeg51! The cabinet paint is Sherwin Williams Pussy Willow semi-gloss

**Q: Looks like downdraft** *(in Photo Questions)*

Is it a downdraft cooktop? Who makes it? Great kitchen.

A: Hello rlstaley, thanks for your question. This range is not a downdraft. It is a part of the Cafe Line from GE. Here is a link for more info. http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-specs/CGS985SETSS
