Adam Jeselnick is an architect, designer, and urban planner in Carmel-By-The-Sea, California. As a student at the University of Notre Dame, Adam studied classical design and traditional urbanism in Rome, Italy and have traveled to Argentina, Japan, New Zealand, and throughout Europe. After starting his career in South Bend, Indiana; then moving to Scottsdale, Arizona; he discovered his “inevitable place” in Carmel-by-the-Sea to pursue a shared passion for the arts and sustainability.

As a legacy LEED Accredited Professional (since 2006), Adam has made sustainable design an integral part of his work. Adam's experience has included golf and community clubhouses, offices, and luxury homes. As a Senior Project Manager for Troon Golf, he specialized in hospitality design and development for exclusive private clubs and resorts around the world.

In 2011, Adam became a founding member of Sustainable Carmel, a local action group created to inspire, create, and guide sustainable thinking and conscious action. As an appointed member of the Mayor's green building committee, and a Monterey County planning advisory group, Adam helped to introduce a City ordinance to foster sustainable construction and has provided recommendations on new development projects.

**★★★★★ — Alex Moha, May 2024**

> Worked with Adam Jeselnick on the Full design of a carmel contemporary house. We were very happy with the project and the partnership with Adam

**Comment from Adam Jeselnick Architect:**

> Thank you Alex and I very much enjoyed working with you on your beautiful Carmel home.

**★★★★ — Carroll & Strong Builders, Inc., May 2024**

> Adam is creative and easy to work with. We completed a project in Carmel where he was able to keep the original appeal of the home while arranging walls within the original footprint and adding bit more space outside it that allow the home to feel much larger and efficient.

**Comment from Adam Jeselnick Architect:**

> Thank you Randy! Always a pleasure to work with you and your team. The house turned out great!

**★★★★★ — User, May 2024**

> Adam designed a beautiful new house for us in Carmel. His design was very thoughtful, incorporating the ideas and wishes we had and turning them into reality. We still discover design elements that Adam added to the house several years after we moved in. Adam was also a joy to work with throughout the process. We would use him again in an instant if we ever had another project.

**Comment from Adam Jeselnick Architect:**

> Thank you so much. We took an empty lot and turned it into something beautiful, that will be a part of Carmel for many years to come. I enjoyed working with you both!

**★★★★★ — Nicholas & Debra Jewell, Sept. 2018**

> In initiating a complete remodel of our 2-bedroom cottage in Carmel, California, the very best decision we made for the entire project was to hire Adam as our architect at the outset. We immediately had a great rapport, and Adam was a joy to work with, incorporating many key architectural improvements from the very beginning until the end. He had enormous influence on our ideas and was very communicative and clear with his design intent throughout. An important part of his early work was introducing us to Harlan Bradley of Masterwork Builders, Inc. (reviewed elsewhere on this site). We were so lucky to find this great team! We couldn’t be more pleased with the final result—we love the completed redesign! We highly recommend Adam and will happily give an in-person review if needed. We were honored to have Adam as our architect, and to develop such a warm relationship over the course of our project. We give him the highest recommendation possible.

**Comment from Adam Jeselnick Architect:**

> Nicholas & Debra, thank you! The process of re-imagining this Carmel cottage was truly a joy from start to finish, and our collaboration with Masterwork made for an inspired and integrated design team. Every detail, including many of the custom furnishings and finishes carefully sourced by the owners, works together to create a warm and serene coastal retreat. I am thrilled that you are so pleased with the finished home!

**★★★★★ — HU-670073, Sept. 2016**

> Our remodeling involved conversion of a two-car garage to a one-car garage plus living space, redesigning a bathroom, and improving a laundry area. We worked with Hare Construction of Pacific Grove, and they linked us to Notre Dame-trained architect Adam Jeselnick. We thought that this would be a simple just-do-it task, but we were wrong. Adam guided us through the intricacies of layout, planning for windows, lighting, electrical outlets, rerouting of heating ducts, and the need for a three-step staircase. We are extremely grateful for his guidance, and the end result is perfect.

**Comment from Adam Jeselnick Architect:**

> Thank you very much for your kind words! I enjoyed working with you to update your home after navigating the permit process through the City of Monterey.

**★★★★★ — cameraeye, Aug. 2016**

> Adam did an amazing job on what essentially was a complete remodel. The house is now very modern with clean lines, plenty of light and efficient use of space.
>
> Adam is extremely knowledgable, professional and helpful. He takes pride in his work and even assisted us in resolving some issues that had nothing to do with him. We highly recommend him!
> Cary Ostrie

**Comment from Adam Jeselnick Architect:**

> Thank you Cary! Wishing you many years of enjoyment in your home and I hope we have a chance to work together in the future.

**★★★★★ — Hare Construction, June 2016**

> Adam is a consummate professional. Easy to work with, his style is always offering solutions rather than roadblocks.
>
> We have worked together on, large, small, residential and commercial projects. He works diligently to turn things and information around quickly while keeping client wishes and budget in mind.
>
> We look forward to working with Adam for years to come.

**Comment from Adam Jeselnick Architect:**

> Sincere thanks to the entire Hare Construction team for many fun years of working together to create successful projects around the Monterey Peninsula and beyond.

**★★★★★ — HU-474429, June 2016**

> Working with Adam on the remodel of our house was a very satisfying experience. Adam has a strong sense of design and he carefully listens to understand the clients’ perspective. He was able to balance design and functional considerations within our budget and achieve an overall aesthetic that compliments the entire house. Adam was available for questions and very supportive throughout the project. We would definitely choose to work with him again. Arthur and Loretta Traum

**Comment from Adam Jeselnick Architect:**

> Thank you Arthur and Loretta for your kind words and the opportunity to work together. The best project is a collaborative one, and I enjoyed our shared commitment to bring your home up-to-date while enhancing its original and unique character.
