We gutted and redid the entire kitchen, moved some walls, and installed new hardwood floor matching the existing floors. The project involved a 3rd party designers for the kitchen that Mike Howell recommended, and lots of trades (plumbing, HVAC, electricians, drywall, flooring, painter, tiler). > > Mike Howell met several times with us, and his initial proposal for costs turned out to be accurate. We went over, but it was 100% because of our choice to upgrade cabinets during the design phase, and everyone was clear with us what the outcome of our choices would be. His estimates on everything was, on average, accurate (we spent over our allowances on some things, less on others, but the big picture number was correct). > > Mike was actively engaged in the design phase that went on about 3 months or so, meeting with us and the designer, coming to the house to take measurements and assess the mechanicals. He was a huge help and comfort in this phase, letting us know what would work and how. During construction he was around, assessing and informing the work and answering our questions. > > Mike Buechner was our project manager. He took a real interest in the job, was always around and was willing to communicate with us pretty much at any time. He di a lot of things that helped us out that probably weren't his job, including moving some furniture. From framing to construction of the cabinetry, we felt they took their time and were careful to get things right the first time. If you value your home, and are considering a Home Renovation project, you owe it to yourself to sit down with Carpentry with Integrity to explore the possibilities for your home. Mike Howell’s team have completed two such projects on our home. The most recent was completed this spring after 15 months of effort, now this may sound like a long process and you’d be right, except for the fact that a Pandemic Supply Chain was less than cooperative! Any project requires the involvement of products from many different brands. With all of the challenges CWI faced, we were never once surprised about a delivery date, nor were we wondering if we would have someone from the team on any given day. The communication was rock solid and if there was bad news, Mike delivered it ASAP and with possible solutions to any challenge faced. I have not once yet mentioned Craftsmanship. Look, there are plenty of good craftsman in the world! What you do not find, are companies that are great at craftsmanship AND project management! > Our project began with very modest goals, unfortunately The City of Geneva had other ideas! Setbacks enforced in an ununiformed manner, pages of Arbor Studies / Requirements that created weeks of delays only to find out the city was mistaken, yah we saw it all! During all of this, Mike and his team were always present, flexible and a calming force during a time when manufacturing was a veritable Minefield! What did Carpentry with Integrity complete for us? New front door, Custom Palladium window above the door, replace the balance of windows, Cedar Siding, New roof, complete redesign the outdoor living space on the back of the house including a large screened in porch, additional decking with lighting. All of this work was done by collaborating on what we wanted to accomplish, creating the plan, communicating the plan, and then executing the plan. > Did the project take longer than planned? Yes. Did it cost more than we originally planned? Yes. Were there delays? Yes. It was also being done during a Pandemic! Are we satisfied with what we spent vs. what we received? Yes. A: Niki, I apologize. I looked, but seem to no longer have these paint colors on file. **Q: vertical slats** *(in Photo Questions)* How wide is the gap in the slats and what materials did you use? It really turned out nice. A: Thank you! From memory, I believe this was made with standard 3/4" Treated materials with a 1/2" or 3/4" gap. **Q: Size of porch** *(in Photo Questions)* What is the size of this back porch?
