In addition, we added an eating area off the kitchen and redid the adjoining deck and landscaping. The latter was assisted by a great landscape architect that Peggy found for us and with whom she works. The entire process was great and highly professional, at the level expected of a commercial architect. All plans were fully drawn and specified. Complex building techniques were also specified. The design was excellent and creative. She also tracked the project along with frequent inspections and notes. Unfortunately our initial contractor turned out to be a disaster and could not build the project, and he ultimately abandoned it, taking my money. Peggy helped us recover from this and found us a contractor to complete the work who truly was great. She also helped us find an interior designer and coordinated that aspect of the project very well. In the end, the overall result was great and it worked very well. A major structural support beam for the house had to be moved and recreated. All water pipes, heat ducts etc had to be re-routed and hidden. Great attention to detail was required to make code specifications for ceiling height and electrical wiring. The design aesthetics were highly creative with differential lighting throughout the spaces, use of mirrors to enhance the natural light. Peggy helped with color choices for wood,paint, flooring, etc. Crucial to the success of the project, Peggy worked very well with our construction company to make sure the job was being done correctly. Peggy was very easy to talk to and was timely and available. We couldn't be more pleased with the result. I like that it is not simply a box but a statement of a beach home with exploring possibilities. Ie. endless room to walk around the decks and boat storage and play areas beneath.
