We were searching for someone who could look at our inspo photos -- accumulated from trips to Napa Valley to the Caribbean to the Mediterranean -- and synthesize them into a cohesive backyard outdoor design that worked with our home's architectural style. Singleton simply nailed it. He listened, challenged, and ideated in ways that gave us the confidence we would end up with the backyard outdoor living space we could see in our minds, but couldn't point to in a single photo. He was extremely patient with changes, he searched for the exact materials we wanted, and developed a balance between hard- & soft-scapes that we'll enjoy for years of high school & college graduation parties, family reunions, and warm summer nights to come. No improvement project is without frustration, and when things did go wrong or moved too slowly, Singleton was responsive with the goal of setting realistic expectations that would deliver the end result we envisioned. He was even able to work with a conservative homeowners' association with traditional design parameters and still achieve the look we were going for. What are the trees and grasses on the right along the fence? A: Thanks so much for your compliments! The pavers are Banas Stone, a line of natural stone pavers and steps. The screening plantings are Dwarf Fountain Grass (Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Hameln') and single stem River Birch (Betula nigra). **Q: Firepit?** *(in Photo Questions)* Do you know the diameter of the firepit? Is it wood burning only or can they install gas logs? We are in the process of building an outdoor living area and are going to have a very similar semi-circle with firepit. You were able to transform the client's dream into a reality. This is the main door we built for a client in Rio Vista, in the city of Fort Lauderdale. Seeing this project come to live was out of the ordinary. Seeing this in design plans you can realize the door is big, but in person, its completely breath-taking. This door is custom built, 19 feet tall pivot door, hurricane proof door, which is Miami Dade County approved. Even with the door's is large size it is extremely easy to maneuver and safe.This door is a must have for any custom home and the client that wants to stand out from the rest.
