Every phase of my project was excellent! I guess I can start at the beginning but leaving the best for last: > First, Alex came by to measure the counter top area in the kitchen. High tech stuff and the quartz top fit perfectly when installed! They installed my sink, faucet, disposal, and dishwasher. Then, Vlad painted the entire inside of the house with 7 colors used throughout the house! Perfect trim work! Next, Merab and Vlad put up the oak window trim and did perfect sealing work around the wall and trim. The downstairs bathroom needed ceiling work done and Vlad more than met the challenge. Merab and Vlad cut the interior and exterior oak doors, stained them, and were put up in the new door frames. A hall fan was adjusted to the correct spacing. Special cuts of wood were made and stained throughout the house. The upstairs bathroom was done so beautifully with new mirror, toilet, shower doors and floor tile. Vlad did most of the work of this project and you would be lucky to have him working on your house project. Viktar the foreman is the one who brought all of these wonderful craft persons together to create the magic. Anastasiya is the project manager from heaven. Her attention to detail is extraordinary and was vital to the success of this project. Finally, none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for Rob Rathbun, the Senior Design Consultant of America’s Dream Home Works. It was because of him that this project happened at all. He listened carefully to what I wanted to do room by room. Then he would tell me what would and what wouldn’t work within the budget or structurally. Rob is a godsend! He is the perfect first representative to meet from this wonderful, professional, company. Top notch artists of their crafts, and the paper side of the company is right there with them. I cannot say enough about all the people at ADHW. Alex, Vlad, Merab, Viktar, Anastasiya, and of course, Rob! You won’t be disappointed! We worked with Mark Groveman who drove some distance with samples. Instead of traditional templates, the measurements were taken with a survey style laser system (my best guess for what it’s called); very precise for our tight corners. The turnaround time for fabrication was impressive at about 4 weeks and installation was scheduled by Vera a day or so after the order was placed. The installation team was terrific; can’t remember their names, but a father, his brother and his son. As a research queen, and extremely finicky, all roads kept leading back to AMERICA'S DREAM HOMEWORKS. We loved the idea of a one stop shop, no middle man! They realized this was not a planned remodel and everyone from the owner down went the extra mile to make sure we had the bathroom we wanted and that it all ran smoothly. We cannot say enough about our main installer, Slavik. He is one of the hardest workers we have come across for ANY work we have had done. Peter was painstakingly detailed about his trimwork and painting (he set a standard for masking our front door prior to painting that I'll certainly never live up to). The framing crew was amazing, they framed the addition in just a couple of days and took our paper plans and turned them into something really beautiful. The concrete team knocked out the foundation in just a couple of days (from excavation to pour) and then came back to add a very nice little porch toward the end. The drywall, texture, and HVAC teams were also spot on. What's amazing was how coordinated everything was. For this, I thank Mark and Mike. Admittedly, Mark did say that the timing of things was particularly good, but come on... 12 weeks from first demo to sign off? That's a QUALITY team... Fred, Alex, Serge, Tanya, and Mark became like family, I can't say enough about the quality of the craftsmanship. There are no shortcuts taken by this crew. Fred does not do anything unless it's quality. Recently a plank in my engineered wood floor delaminated. Several folks described a "glue injection with a needle" as a correction. While this was a manufacturers issues, Fred repaired by removing the plank and replacing. The house stayed on schedule, when the schedule slipped it was because of decisions or changes we needed to make. The first two projects were a dream so I am not sure what happened with the last but must warn other potential customers. This company has grown and forgotten that every customer counts. They have more work than they need and the idea of making sure they complete what was contracted does not seem important anymore. Bottom line, we paid $20,000 for windows and have a window that has never even had a window screen on it. The ADH employee took it off the truck damaged and said they would request a new one and install it but call after call and we still have no screen! They ordered the wrong windows and ADH promised to compensate by installing the missing grids as long as we purchased the materials and painted them! The materials have been sitting in my garage, painted, for 18 months with nothing done despite repeated calls and promises. They did not finish the door installation as contracted to include paint inside and out. They did not even finish caulking the trim (see pictures)! If you hazard to sign a contract with them, make sure you include every single, little detail and do not pay them until everything is absolutely done, even if they promise it will happen later. In our past projects, they were great so we just weren't concerned but now, we have just been taken advantage of! The other contractor used lines like "if anyone tells you they can do it for less, they're lying..." and "are you sure you want to..." or "this is how you need to do...", which I find to be demeaning and condescending as an educated female that knows how to do her research, how to build things herself, and knows quality work. ADHW treated me as an equal and also treated me and my home with respect. > > Having done many home improvement projects on my own, I had many questions during the estimating process and some changes before we solidified the contract. Mark was great at getting back to me within a day or two and answered all of my questions in detail. They accommodated my changes without issue. > > As with any construction project, during construction there were a couple of snafus that arose. No matter how much you plan, this just always happens. However, the team was able to take care of everything by talking through things with me, answering my questions, and by resolving the task in a timely fashion. > > The crew worked fast and efficiently but also took the time to do the job right. Not having seen a siding project up close and being used to handling projects on my own, I had several moments where I was nervous because I wasn't sure of the process. If I mentioned something, Vadim would walk me through and tell me the next steps. And, in the end, all the final finishing touches like the caulking and trim painting just polished it all off. My house looks amazing and I get excited every time I come home. > > If I have to say one thing, which I feel is very minor and wasn't a biggie to me at all, was that there was just a couple of times where I didn't expect the crew/staff and they showed. I think once was just a miscommunication between the construction crew or I misunderstood and that was when the normal lead let me know he wouldn't be there on the Saturday so I didn't expect the crew, but the crew did come on the Saturday. To me, this just showed me that they're hard workers. The other time was when the alternate lead stopped by to rehang stuff without giving me a heads up. I was home, so it didn't bother me and it was great to get everything hung up, but it could have been a wasted trip for him if I hadn't of been home. So that could have potentially been a bummer.
