> We worked with Smith Builders on a new construction home for our family. Trey and Cary are warm, responsive and truly professional. From the beginning, meeting with Trey to discuss project scope, budget and timeline was great. Trey provided us with honest input and was quick to respond to our questions. After a few initial meetings, it became clear to us that we'd be in good hands with the Smith builders. Once demolition and construction began we worked closely with Cary on the day to day details. He made sure that the trades and subs followed the construction documents and facilitated communications between the architect and the subs. Trey and Cary were always ready to answer my call or meet on site if there was an issue. In one instance a quote from a vendor came back way over budget but, using their extensive network, they were able to get the same item from another vendor for much less. It is this type of putting the client's needs first that exemplifies the Smith brothers. We always felt that our family was the priority in the project.
> Now that construction is done and we are living in the house, the relationship with Smith Builders continues. Cary has been on top of tackling punch list items as I raise them. He is still quick to pick up the phone when I call. The customer service and dedication to clients is what sets Smith Builders apart from the others.

> I've worked with dozens of contractors, both personally and professionally, and Smith Builders is at the top. The quality of their work, responsiveness, and employee caliber are stellar. What's more, they're great people — trustworthy and kind. Two thumbs up!

> Trey and his team are extremely professional and focus on every detail to ensure an excellent outcome. He listened to us and our needs, and we couldn't be happier with our home today.

> Please do yourself a favor, stop looking and hire Smith builders. I have on five occasions over the last seven years and have always walked away happy! I've used them for everything from substantial remodels to teardown and start fresh projects. Having had some horrible experiences working with other builders, working with the owner Trey Smith was very refreshing. His experience helped me through all of the ups and downs that can occur during construction and he never walked away from any problem he only brought solutions and first class results. The contact I had with all his support staff was also top notch! They are your guys...

> I have worked with Smith Builders on many high-end residential and commercial design/build projects. Their professionalism and ability to understand my clients needs are outstanding. I have been in the interior design industry for over 25 years and I have worked with thousands of general contractors from Texas to NYC. Smith builders would absolutely rank in the top 3!

> There are not enough nice words I can say about Trey! He is even keeled, kind, honest and completely respectful of the process of building or remodeling a home. We had the pleasure of working with Trey and his amazing subs when we remodeled 5.5 years ago. He has been accessible in the last 5 years with issues that he didn't even have a part of, that is just the kind of guy he is. As a builder, I think it is crucial that they can manage your expectations, in particular with time and budget, and he does this very naturally.

**★★★★★ — GREER Interior Design, March 2015**

> We have had the pleasure of working with Smith Builders on a number of projects and it has always been a great experience. They are professional, trustworthy and easy to work with. We also really appreciate their attention to detail and ability to make design decisions in the field. We recommend Smith Builders without reservation.

## Community Q&A

**Q: How did you do the stepping stones?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Interested in putting in stepping stones like this between the pool and spa, could you share with me how it was done? Thanks.

A: Hi,
This walk space for the stepping stones was built into the pool from the beginning. There is actually a wall under the stepping stones separating the spa and pool. The stepping stones are sitting on top of that wall with raised sections under them, so they appear to be floating.

Our Modern Home Tour Austin home featured on FOX 7 Austin!

A: Great spot! Great House!! I love the concept of "Responsible Modern".

**Q: Exterior Materials** *(in Photo Questions)*

If you please, would you share what the exterior material is?

Thank you!

A: Hello HR! The house exterior is a smooth-finish Stucco, painted two different colors. The porch is Travertine tile, while the steps and pool coping are Lueder Limestone.

**Q: Wondering about the windows - is that a window treatment or frosted?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This looks to be a cellular shade with top-down, bottom-up functionality. Alternatively, window films have come a long way and could be applied in a similar band for a frosted glass effect.

**Q: Glass** *(in Photo Questions)*

Beautiful House!! Can you tell me the name of the patterned glass used in the sidelites? Thanks!

A: This looks like cast glass. It's likely pretty thick (1/2") to be suitable for use next to a door. It's definitely a custom piece of glass. A local glass shop could likely order something like this for you/your contractor. Expect to pay top $$ for the glass and shipping. It's a beautiful design and the repeat of the pattern in the railing looks great!

**Q: Great mirror, what is its source?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Isn't this beautiful?! It is the "Root Round Wall Mirror" from Crate & Barrel.
