ACTWO Architects is a new firm committed to excellence in all phases of architectural practice.  ACTWO Architects is also a firm that draws on the thirty years of experience of the award-winning firm of Andrew Cohen Architects. ACTWO Architects is the evolution and expansion of Andrew Cohen Architects,  a full-service architectural firm that since 1982 has been providing innovative design solutions to a diverse clientele.  In 2012, Andrew Cohen and Thomas White established ACTWO Architects, a professional corporation with principals committed to overall excellence in design, excellence in client service, and excellence in project management.
We intend to be a generalist practice with expertise in a number of fields, with work encompassing buildings for arts organizations and other non-profits, several types of multi-family housing, interior office design, medical office facilities, restaurant and retail store designs, custom residential designs, and adaptive re-use, historic preservation and renovation projects. We strongly believe it is vital to work with all building types as part of our responsibility to continually evolve as contributors to the built environment.  This range of work allows us to explore all facets of design at a multitude of scales and to continually develop compelling architectural solutions for our clients.
We are proud of the fact that, as Andrew Cohen Architects, and now as ACTWO Architects, we have maintained working relationships with clients over many years. We have successfully completed multiple projects for repeat clients, consistently delivering the highest level of design, while providing comprehensive service and careful attention to the details of the overall project from conception through construction supervision, all the way to successful project completion.

Was there a reason you mixed two woods in the room?

A: There was!  And there's actually only one wood in this image: the flooring below the living room furniture is the same (finish) wood as the ceiling and back left wall.  The circulation path, which extends past the foreground of this image, is done in tile, to delineate the path from the back patio to the kitchen and beyond.

**Q: kitchen's white rear wall - what is it made of?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The kitchen backsplash is back-face edge lit white frosted glass.  The light is concealed below the counter top behind the glass.

A: The desk is a custom designed piece, conceptualized around a very specific set of requirements for how the client prefers to work.  We're glad you like it!
