Ingrid has relationships with reasonably priced and high quality cabinet makers. Namely we went with Columbia Cabinetry. They offer cabinets that meet the California Air Resources Board (CARB) standards. This was important to us as our entire remodel used low formaldehyde emitting materials. Ingrid was very patient guiding us through decisions about configurations for a kitchen, two bathrooms, a laundry room, a built-in dining room cabinet, and a small “butler’s pantry.” Additionally she helped with door styles, color choices, and moldings. I love the stainless steel and the width. A: The sink is a discontinued Kohler sink that has three basins of varying sizes integral into a stainless counter top. I'm not sure if they have anything like it at this time. **Q: Beautiful, warm kitchen!! Looks like cork floors?** *(in Photo Questions)* Could you tell me what the countertops are.? Thank you! A: The counter tops are Cambria Quartz "Aragon" and yes, the flooring is cork. **Q: Love your kitchen - who is the cabinet maker** *(in Photo Questions)* Hello, Could you tell me who made these cabinets? I love the style. Thanks. A: Cabinets are manufactured by Columbia Cabinets in BC Canada. **Q: Love the kitchen. What kind of sink & wood and finish on stained cabin** *(in Photo Questions)* A: The cabinets are by Wood-Mode. The white ones are an opaque stain on maple and the dark ones have a burnished stain finish on cherry. The sink is a Kohler stainless sink with the sink area integrated into a stainless top. Sorry, I don't remember the name of it, or the model number. **Q: Mixing different colour appliances** *(in Design Dilemma)* I need to buy a new fridge and really want stainless steel, will it look bad if I have the black stove & over the range microwave? A: Unfortunately your range and microwave/hood don't have any stainless accents. I think it's going to look strange to put a SS fridge in there. Maybe if the fridge has black accents like handles and base you could get by until you replace the other appliances. Sometimes it is okay to mix colors , i.e., a cherry red stove as a focal point and the rest of the appliances stainless. **Q: Kitchen Countertop Help** *(in Design Dilemma)* I originally planned on using a 2cm thick Caesarstone countertop in my kitchen because I like a lighter, less massive look. Some of the cabinets are 10" off the floor in an alcove and having a 2cm countertop would make it look more streamlined in my opinion. I've just found out that the 15" overhang I need/want on the seating side of my island, plus waterfall sides, require a 3cm thick slab. Can I make the island 3cm and the countertops on three sides surrounding the island 2cm? Or will it look too weird? A: Regarding the 2 cm, I have seen it on a vanity as well, but usually needs support when it's going a longer distance, spanning several cabinets.
