**★★★★★ — Colletti Doors, Oct. 2013**

> As a subcontractor, I have the opportunity to work with many general contractors in the industry and Joel is one of the best. He is well organized, creative, easy to communicate with, and ensures his projects are on budget and on schedule. I would highly recommend J. Andrew Development for any project whether a small remodel to a new grand custom estate.

**★★★★★ — Jorja Leavitt, Sept. 2013**

> Joel is a serious, committed professional with high standards. You will see that Joel's projects are done on time, and his client's experience little stress due to his ability to organize, communicate, etc...
> I fully endorse J Andrew!

**★★★★★ — Lee Burton, Dec. 2012**

> Late in 2011 we planned an extensive redo on our kitchen. Our neighbor recommended J Andrew. (Good for her!) The project was extensive; walls had to be moved, soffits raised, etc. Joel's input and patient understanding were invaluable in the project. The quality of his subs were, for the most part, top notch. There was one that didn't quite meet our expectations but he made the situation "right". We would be happy to recommend J Andrew to anyone.

> We hired J Andrew Development to do a complete remodel of our back yard. We were continually impressed and amazed at the level of service and professionalism Joel provided throughout our very complicated job. Joel worked well with colleagues and clients, provided excellent work at a reasonable price, did what he said he would do (and more) on time, and is a bright, creative, and likable individual with patience throughout the process. We highly recommend his work! Did I say he was awesome? He is!!

**★★★★★ — EvMark Corp, Dec. 2012**

> I hired J. Andrew Development for a framing job which included groin Vault, a “Double Barrel Vaulted ceiling,” and some Segmented Arch’s with corbels. Joel Johnson and his crew did a great. job and where competitively priced. They were nice and cleaned up after themselves. Joel was easy to work with, accepting last minute changes and requests.

**★★★★★ — Ottilie Interior Design, Dec. 2012**

> As an interior designer I've worked with many builders but j Andrew Development has been by far one of the most professional. Ive worked with them on several high-end residential projects. They are straight forward and honest communicators, so you always know where your project stands. I have also found them to be very fair and responsible. I appreciate their high building standards, they don't take short cuts and expect the same from their subcontractors. Overall I am very pleased with their services, I highly recommend them to clients and trades alike, they are a pleasure to work with!

> We had a difficult remodel project on our new home we purchased in Oct 2012. It was a beautiful home but very outdated. We heard that J Andrew had specialized in higher end homes from others who used their services previously. The changes we were needing to make required someone who understood the quality and look we were needing to achieve. Joel Came to our home and worked diligently to help us meet a specific budget, look and timeline. We were very happy with the results. Our home was transformed and we stuck to our budget. Very happy with the quality work.

**★★★★★ — Visionmakers Custom Stone & Steel Doors, Nov. 2012**

> J Andrew Development is a young, upcoming, performance driven construction company that architectural firms such as mine enjoy working with. Every detail is carefully considered and executed. Joel and his firm are great team players and we have been so fortunate to work with them on some rather complicated renovations that they have effortlessly build. We highly recommend them.

  - Description: Here we utilized boulders from the site that were handpicked and set aside early in the project as we exported thousands of yards of material. We were the only contractors the Town of Paradise Valley allowed to blast. This site is on the West side of Mummy Mountain and is considered hillside. Because once the house was built the backyard would be completely inaccessible to any equipment we built the pool and then filled it back in with clean planting dirt. This was done so we could build the ter…

  - Description: Was asked by my clients here to add a new structure that could be a "duel" use space. A batting cage when the owner was in training and as a pool/cabana house for when he was in season. Notice the door systems, a total of 8 panels pocket out of the way to allow flow of air and a completly open feel. The net had the ability to pocket out of the way behind a set of 3 sliding doors where it, the pitiching machine, and other equiptment was stored. In addition to the batting cage I was contracted to…

## Community Q&A

**Q: Rebar** *(in Photo Questions)*

Did you put anything on the rebar to prevent it from rusting?

A: In this instance we did not use anything to prevent the pipes from rusting. The client wanted it to rust, that was part of the design. FYI they do have rust preventative products that can be used both to prevent steel from rusting and to stop the process once the steel gets to the look you want. There are also special steels (Corten http://www.corten.com/frequently-asked-questions.html ) that rust to a certain point but then slows the process.

**Q: How tall is the ceiling and how tall is the cage?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: We had height restrictions from the town that we had to deal with but the plate height at the exterior walls is 10 feet with approx an 18 inch rise to the center. With the 6 inch step down it gave us approx 12 feet. Hope that helps

**Q: How long is the batting cage?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Great question. I would have to pull out the archived plans to get exacts but I believe the entire length of the building was 68 feet long with 10 feet to store the net and house the pitching machine on the backside and 16 feet on the opposite end for the bar/entertaining area. Although my client was a MLB player (at the time for Oakland) we could not make it standard MLB length from plate to pitcher due to setbacks in the Town we were building in.

**Q: Siding** *(in Photo Questions)*

Stunning. Can you tell me about the siding please? Thanks.

A: Sure. The siding is made from a steel product called Cor-Ten. It's a great product because it will rust only to a point. It's much more expensive than just a regular type of raw rustable steel. It's done in a hat channel style with panels approx. 16 inches wide. Let me know what more you want to know!

**Q: What is this metal siding?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Please tell me what this siding is and where to purchase. Thank you.

A: forgive me for the delay....been out of town. The siding is a pre-rusted steel siding. It is what is know as Cortan which is a type of steel that will only rust so far then stops. It was purchased locally in the valley from Western States Decking.

**Q: were to get disign for the pool** *(in Photo Questions)*

I want to buy design for My pool

A: This was a custom designed piece in collaboration with the home owner, the pool subcontractor and myself - the Builder
