We got a chance to see displays of over 20 different bedding groups, and photographs with fabric swatches of dozens more. We purchased a contemporary design based on a photo and swatches, and received the set in 2 days at our home in Phoenix. Does a coverlet do what a pillow case does but for the comforter, can you get like a a down, comforter and put inside it, I feel so unintelligent. A: To answer you question on what a coverlet is, its very similar to what people call a comforter. Its generally quilted together with a polyester filler and a basic cotton type backing. The most common type of bedding in todays market are a duvet cover, which is like a giant pillowcase for your duvet and a coverlet.
