> I initially reached out to Andria for guidance in picking paint colors for my kitchen cabinets and walls.  She is so knowledgable and patient that I quickly confided I would also like to update my lighting and just need general help.  As a non-design person I know I am having a positive or negative response but I struggle to know what elements are causing my reaction.  Andria helped me to identifying a number of changes that could be made for maximum impact and provided guidance on what they might entail regarding cost and skill level.  Andria made excellent product suggestions while balancing design, quality and price point.  She not only found a perfect new dinning table for me but also a new toddler table for my grandchildren (that shares the space).  Andria was frank about what could be improved without ever being pushy or making me feel judged for my prior choices (some of which were questionable). Andria's hourly rate was very reasonable and she added so much value that I feel I received a great deal! I would highly recommend Andria and will definently be calling her again when I need help.

**Q: NYC Rockette's Living Room** *(in Before & After)*

I recently finished designing the Living Room of a NYC Rockette. We changed the flooring, modernized the fireplace by removing the stone wall and painting it in a Farrow and Ball paint. A marble fireplace surround was added to the fireplace. How do you like it?

A: What an amazing transformation!  Beautiful space, I'm sure she's thrilled!

**Q: Master ensuite feature wall advice, please!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are going to
renovate our ensuite soon, and I need to decide on tile for the feature wall as
a jumping off point for the rest of the bathroom. We are going for a
updated classic/timeless look...but not too traditional...maybe transitional. There will be a
freestanding tub in front of the feature wall, and the main colour will be a creamy white (vs a grey/blue white). The vanity will be black walnut (shaker
doors as per last pic) with a light quartz top.
Some
options for the feature wall are (pics below - colours are more grey than we want, but the pics show the effect):
1\)
small marble chevron
2\)
large porcelain tiles or stacked quartz
3\)
large porcelain chevron
4\) very large (16" x 30") more modern wall tiles
Would
love input on which would stand the test of time as we will be selling in 6-10
years. Also happy to hear other ideas.

A: My apologies, after looking more closely I realized the large porcelain chevron tiles photo was actually the one I was trying to say I loved :) Might be fun for you to add some polished brass fixtures, or at least accessories, love how it warms it up.

**Q: Is having 2 bath rug tacky ??** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Debating if I should have two bath rug in my new master bath

A: I agree with removing the one in front of the sink! Perhaps just a smaller white one that you can hang over the edge of the tub like they do in hotels, then place on the floor when you shower?  I like using white...it gives a cleaner appearance, and you can bleach it.

**Q: Master Bathroom tile/cabinet selection help** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm picking out finishes for my master bathroom and as usual am overthinking things.  The home will be very modern with lots of Blacks and whites and cedar tones.  I guess I'm a little concerned with everything being too monochromatic. I know I can add color with a backsplash for the vanity, towels, etc. but I'd still love some advice.
My question here is for advice on the bath finishes for tile, countertops, and cabinets.  My original thought was to do white penny tile on the floor of a curbless shower, with the dark smoky tile for the shower walls.  White reflective cabinets and off white quartz counters like in the photo above. Also do an off white quartz shower bench. 
The next photo plays with a couple of ideas like replacing the penny tile with the small square and mixing in the brown cabinet.
The last one lightens up the shower walls as an option which I like but I've been told the brown cabinets don't go with anything else. What about using the same shower wall tile for the floor?
Any votes or advice from the experts out there.  Sorry I know there's a lot of choices in there. Thanks a bunch Houzzers.

A: I agree with Moico, last pic on the right! You were asking about doing the same shower tiles on the floor...I wouldn't. I like the warmth the wood look tile provides.  Nice job, it's going to be beautiful!
