We’d long dreamed of upgrading our own 90-year-old shabby kitchen and so we found out that it was Sabine Provo who had created our friend’s dream kitchen. . . From May 2021 to August 2021 we worked closely with Sabine and her outstandingly skilled crew to transform our frumpy old kitchen into the kitchen of OUR dreams. Because she somehow manages to keep her own costs to a minimum, we were able to include the remodeling of the adjoining breakfast room, laundry room AND guest bathroom in the project at the price we’d budgeted for just the kitchen alone. We gave her our budget and somehow she managed to complete the project exactly on budget. (Any additional expenses were entirely design and appliance choices my wife and I made on our own in the course of things.) The crew Sabine assembled was uniformly great — top quality craftsman who took great pains to keep their work spaces clean, show up exactly when they said they would, and were always willing to discuss any and all issues we had in the process of doing their work. Like virtually all home remodeling projects, there were certainly a few unexpected and consequential glitches or, as Sabine puts it, a few “hiccups” along the way. But it’s not whether or not there are surprise problems to deal with that matters — what matters is having a captain at the helm of your project like Sabine who knows exactly how to manage the challenges which inevitably arise in a professional, effective and winning way. It was a matter of honor to both Sabine and her entire team to make sure that Lilly and I were 100% happy with the fruit of their labor. No detail was too small for them to fix or adjust or correct. In the beginning, when we first signed the contract to officially hire Sabine to make our kitchen dreams a reality, we shook hands professionally and agreed we all looked forward to working together. She was also recommended by the Pacific Design Services at the LA Pacific Design Center, one of only 10 designers to receive that honor. After hiring her, we continued detailed conversations, e-mails and texts covering all of our requirements and budget, which was critical, since we were going to renovate bathrooms, kitchen, lighting/electrical, floors and many more design elements, down to little details like pillow shams. Sabine was able to put together a fantastic crew from the general contractor to a complete team of vendors. And on our trips to LA, took us to amazing stores to shop for tiles, fabrics, furniture, fixtures, carpets and even a stone fireplace mantel. The shopping trips were not only extremely productive, but a fun, learning experience. Her tireless detail and drive, as well as a focus on budget and monies, allowed for us to accomplish this complex task in roughly 5 months, with only three 5 day visits on our part, to pick and decide on all aspects of the project. Sabine’s taste is impeccable, extremely creative, in addition she is a complete problem solver. She is completely reliable, trustworthy and efficient. With all of this she also remains flexible to allow our taste to come through, while maintaining a high level of excellence. Oh, and Sabine is also an absolutely delightful person and a joy to work with! We are so lucky to have found Sabine.
