## Community Q&A

**Q: Ceiling beam help in mid century ranch** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are getting ready to close on this 1963 ranch, and I can't decide what I want to do with the beams. The first photos show them exposed before the current owners bought the house. 
I'm pretty sure I want to expose them in the future because I love the warmth and richness of the wood. However, not in the budget now. The all white photos are how the house looks today. I plan on painting the walls... Likely a light grey, but enough contrast to see the difference.
I'm thinking the beams should be painted the same color as the walls instead of the ceiling , but would like advice.

A: I agree strip the paint and then I would offer the suggestion to stain the wood to match the floor.
