> I hired American Home Can,ontractors to solve a very difficult leak with the roof of my garage. The job required work on the chimney flashing and replacing half of the garage roof. It's unfortunate that this review is not completely positive, because Jon was really very good. He was very responsive and had a fair price and took the time to explain everything and really did want to solve the problem. He and his crew did a good job on the roof and flashing work, aside from there being nails and other debris left on the property (I'm still finding nails 6 months later). Unfortunately all of this work didn't solve the leak. Jon did come back and make an effort to figure out what was causing the leak and thought he had figured out that the problem was with the siding, and told me he needed to send his siding crew. This never happened, there were many delays, and the problem was never resolved.

> I had an excellent experience with American Home Contractors. I needed both my roof and gutters replaced - both were old, and a mess. Honestly, I don't expect much from contractors. In my experience, many don't show up, or call back, or you have to chase them down to finish a job. That was NOT the case with American. Dave DaVeiga, the project manager, was extremely responsive - in fact, he followed up with me, almost daily, about the job, even on weekends. I knew exactly what was going on, what materials, they were using, and why. He did a full inspection of my house, showed me samples of the GAF materials they would use, explained all warranties thoroughly, and followed through on everything he said. The job foreman, Patricio, was a gentleman and extremely knowledgable. He knew all the problem spots of my roof just by looking at it for a few moments, before I even said a thing. He and his crew did a first-rate job, excellent craftsmanship, on time, and actually left my home neat and clean afterward. This is the first time I actually offered a contractor to write a review for them. I was very happy with the process and work.

> From the 1st visit to the end of the project Chris and Travis were great to deal with. We are not always easy customers, but they listened to any concerns and made adjustments as needed to make sure that we were happy with the final product. The house looks amazing and we are very pleased. We have already recommended them to several people.

> My experience with American Home Contractors was nothing short of fabulous from beginning to end. I dealt with Corey and found him to be professional and knowledgeable. He kept me well-informed from date of hire to project completion. I would gladly recommend this company.

> My experience with American Home Contractors and with Dave, specifically, was exceptional from start to finish. After having been "stood up" by another local siding contractor for a small job, I called AHC - and Dave was at my house the next day, on time, with samples of products, tons of helpful information, and a solid list of references that I could contact. He answered all of my questions and concerns, met my schedule for getting started, arrived on the construction start date with an awesome team of hard workers who completed by job quickly, and then came by afterwards to make sure I was happy. I can't wait to work with Dave and team again in a few months on our larger project!

> American Home delivered everything as promised-
> Excellent quality , fast completion according to schedule, pleasant and conscientious Workers, and pricing as quoted despite some unforeseen additional problems with our roof and gutters which were not anticipated. I recommend them without hesitation; this is the best value in home improvement I have ever encountered.

> We had our siding replaced on a bi-level home in July of 2017. While looking for quotes, representatives from American Home Contractors were the most detail oriented and knowledgeable about their product and the service. We signed the contract and we were asked to give very small deposit. The full payment was processed after the job was done and we were satisfied with the work. The work was done quick and well. The communication with the company was excellent during the project. Any questions or concerns were answered and addressed promptly. The site managers showed up at the site to check on things multiple times each day the work was being done. I would highly recommend them, especially Travis and Chris, who were in charge of the job done at my house.

**★★★★★ — Connie Hansen, April 2017**

> American Home contractors replaced 13 windows in the sunroom, living room and kitchen of our 1940's home and I couldn't have asked for a better job or product. Dave DaVeiga spent as much time as needed to help us decide on just the right windows and they turned out wonderful and at a reasonable price. The installation was seamless with very little disruption to our lives in the house.
>
> Because of the great experience with the windows, we worked with Dave and American Home Contractors to replace the front entry door. Same as the windows, we worked closely with Dave to select just the right door and love the style and quality. The noise and weather are now remaining outside the house where it belongs and the look of the home has been greatly upgraded.
>
> We will check with these guys next time we have a project - highly recommend!

**★★★★★ — Karin Fernandez, March 2017**

> American Home Contractors just completed installing a new roof on my house. I must say, dealing with Travis Iradi has been a delightful experience. He is so very nice and handled all my requests professionally. He even came back after all the work was done to make sure I was completely satisfied. Great job! Thanks, Travis!!
>
> The work itself was done quickly and professionally. Everything was cleaned up as soon as they were finished each day and that made for a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend American Home Contractors.

**★★★★★ — Laura Truitt, March 2017**

> It's been a pleasure working with the American Home Contractors team. My first meeting with Dave was handled professionally and with care and consideration. This treatment carried over through my entire experience with American Home Contractors. We replaced the old stucco and cedar siding with James Hardie planks and shingles. All of our windows were replaced with new Beechworth Windows. We also replaced all soffit and gutters. Our house looks like a brand new house! We are so happy with this new transformation.
>
> AHC completed our project in about two weeks. They are very efficient hard workers, perform quality work, and they are neat and clean.
>
> If we had any questions throughout the process, Dave was always available via text or a call to answer our questions.
>
> Thank you American Home Contractors! I highly recommend!

**★★★★★ — Maryhope Zitelli, Nov. 2016**

> Replaced the cedar shakes on my cape cod home with beautiful Hardie Board siding. All work was done in a timely and professional manner and the finished product makes it look like a brand new house. Great attention to details.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Was the siding a matte finish or glossy?** *(in Photo Questions)*

We have two samples we're trying to choose between, and the iron grey from the standard collection (cedarmil) arrived with a glossy finish that we don't like, whereas the dream collection (Black Diamond) came in a matte finish that we would prefer.

A: This project features an 8.25" (7" Exposure) HardiePlank Cedarmill with Color Plus finish in Iron Gray. I would describe the finish as having a light sheen when exposed to direct light, but definitely not matte. This picture was taken when it was cloudy, so the plank may not be reflecting much light back, which may contribute a matte appearance. I advise evaluating samples on one sunny day, and on another overcast day, both in the AM and PM to see how the colors appear under different lighting conditions. Thank you for your question!

**Q: What color is your siding on this house? Thanks** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi stephaniemh,
Thank you for your inquiry. We did the roof on this property several years ago, not the siding. I do not have information regarding the specific brand/color.

**Q: Roof color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Could you please provide the name of the roof tile manufacturer and the color?

A: Hi Lisa,
This is a GAF Timberline HD shingle in Oyster Gray.
Thank you for asking!

**Q: do you have a picture of the whole house? Please** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi Mama Bear,
I sure do:
http://www.houzz.com/projects/680545/full-exterior-remodel-east-hanover-nj

**Q: What color roof is this?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hello NP,
The shingle is GAF Timberline HD and the color is Pewter Gray. Hope this helps.

**Q: Would you keep these doors?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are remodeling our kitchen and my husband built the cabinets. He came home last night with the upper cabinet doors. He put a frickin' arch on them. I cried when I saw them. I feel bad because h
e has worked so hard on our kitchen. I never thought about discussing the door design. I assumed he was going to do straight lines like the lower cabinet doors. So, if this was your forever dream kitchen, would you keep these doors? (Please don't comment on the maple. That's a different discussion.)

A: While it might not be exactly what you envisioned, I think you should keep them and here's why:
1\. Your husband poured blood, sweat, and tears into your kitchen, I am sure. This kind of craftsmanship is very arduous and expensive. It's evident he made them with Love. People dole out a lot of extra money for that arch!
2\. They're beautiful!
