> I highly recommend Karin and NoBox studio!! Her insights and approach allowed us to get the best of her great style ,unique ideas, and extensive experience, yet still keep everything feeling as our own. We've since hired Karin for several projects and recommended NoBox to anybody that is looking for a professional design!

> I was so glad i found Karin of NoBox Studio. My apt would not have been completed without her absolute support, work ethics and professionalism. She have gone over and above her required work to make sure the contractors and building management liaise with the project on hand even though this is not part of her job scope. All these were done while she was nursing her newborn baby!
> We have enjoyed renovating this apt from absolute scratch. It was simply amazing for her to co-ordinate the work between Boston and Asia where i lived. I am enjoying the fruits of her labour till today had received many compliments and offers to buy my place.

> I had the pleasure to work with Karin Sharav-Zalkind, from NoBox Studio twice.
> Both time it was a residential project and the outcome exceeded expectations both times.
> She is easy to talk to, she "gets it" when you describe a vision, and she knows how to make it work. She was a perfect liaison between me and the other people involved in the project, from the general contractor to the different vendors involved.
> She has a wonderful understanding of color and color in different lights, through out the day and how it would look at night depending on lighting. Something it never crossed my mind to consider when I envisioned a particular color for a wall.
> Karin is very organized and that helped a lot to navigate this complex renovation of a historical house in a historical neighborhood in Cambridge, Ma

## Community Q&A

**Q: lighting dilemna** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Are there good battery operated "art" lights? spotlights, etc to highlight significant art where wiring cannot be updated?

A: @lights online - do these light turn themselves off? In search of battery operated lights that stay on.

**Q: Should I change my kitchen knobs?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I've had the white knobs forever- can't change the appliances or counter-top at this time- I was thinking of changing the knobs to bronze- since we now have bronze light fixtures. Would that help or make it look un-finished?

A: I think any change is helpful in making you feel that you have created a new space

**Q: We need help deciding color of living room and living room drapes** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Enclosed are pics of living room rug and couch colors. We are putting plantation shutters on either side of fireplace . The couch is a buttercream yellow color and the rug and chair have porcelain blue . I picked a beautiful fabric for dining area which is open to living room. Enclosed a pic of the fabric. Would prefer to stay neutral in color and maybe a small pattern like a trellis pattern on drape.

A: I'd use Benjamin Moore Oc-17 Cedar Key http://noboxstudio.blogspot.com/2015/03/color-splash.html

**Q: I have similar living room should I get the same rug in the living room and under dinning room?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Thnx

A: Yes I think that would be the right choice
