Parker Interiors, LLC, Jan. 2024** > We engaged Woods Design Builders in 2017 to do a remodel and addition on our historic home. We did so based on their reputation and our experience when the company was owned and managed by their mother and co-founder, Sharon (Sensitive Information Hidden). During our project, the management of the company was taken over by Sharon Woods’ two sons, Shane and Rob (Sensitive Information Hidden). The process was an absolute disaster. We have been left with a home where many of the major systems have failed or are failing. In addition to shoddy work, their accounting is highly questionable. On top of that, much of the work was not permitted, inspected, or to code. I would also like to point out that all of the reviews on this page have been left prior to the change in management. If you are considering doing work with this builder, please do a background check on the current owners as well as the company. These are three of many positive adjectives we'd use to describe Sharon Woods, her sons Shane and Rob, and their entire team. We had a part-time place in downtown Santa Fe starting in 2005, but had purchased a lot near the Opera when we decided to sell our Chicago-area home and move to Santa Fe full-time. Over several years, we had visited many homes, talked to multiple builders and interviewed three seriously. We had to do our homework, but there was never a doubt in our minds that Woods was our choice. Number One, Woods listens to the client. Number Two, their subs are the best they can find and they hold their feet to the fire. Number Three, they meet their deadlines. And Number Four, they never say goodbye. As is inevitable, you will find a problem down the road. Woods tells you -- and follows through on the promise -- that they will not desert you, even after the customary year-long responsibility. We have not had major problems (and only few very minor ones), but a poorly-drawing fireplace (not their fault) has grabbed their attention and we've had immediate attention and proposed solutions 2 1/2 years after we moved in. And the design talent of the founder, Sharon Woods, is just amazing. She made our home what it is and I bless her every day. We had a wish list, albeit on a challenging lot. She and her (our) architect, Lorn Tryk, met every challenge and way more. Yes, Woods is high-end. But they were also conscious of our budget, and when things got tight, they (with we) figured out where to compromise. They are honest and they are pleasure to do business with.
