This is the most miserable, unabashedly apathetic, false faced gas lighters that I have ever had to endure in any service, in any industry. > > Issue 1: They just plain sent the wrong sized shades - short by 3/4 of an inch. End of discussion. Why is this a debate? It's not like I just blindly took my old measurements for the 6 windows I correctly measured for the last shades, NO - I measured carefully again. I did precisely what their instructions said. And they made the shades too small. > > Issue 2: I proved it with numbers. I proved it with photos. I proved it with their own responses that admitted culpability. But they would NOT accept that their production was at fault. They just kept telling me "you measured wrong." I know how to use a ruler and follow directions. Again, this is the second time I have ordered shades for these windows, and the first ones from Blinds.com fit perfectly. > > Issue 3: They were more than happy to extend their "Fit Protection", which is their flimsy front for making you accept responsibility for their manufacturing error. You get one of these. Then after that I guess they just keep your money, and you get a shade that needs a block of wood to fit. > > I'm ashamed and embarrassed that I fell for this. Every fake cheerful interaction is more painful than the last. But at this point, I would rather lose the $283 than do business with them, in any way. And it never had to be this way - that's the worst part. **★ — Customer Care Nightmare, Dec. 2024** > A few years back I remodeled our first home and got all the blinds from Select Blinds. The experience was good since everything fit or was close to the ordering dimensions. Recently, after my 4 year-old took a pair of scissors to the blinds in the master bedroom of our new home, I ordered three blinds to replace the old ones. I wrote in the dimensions and not long after I received my blinds but this time each blind was narrower by 5/8 of an inch. That is almost three quarters of an inch narrower. I needed to mount these side by side to cover a large three pane window. After multiple attempts to resolve this with customer service, the final answer was pretty much, “we can’t replace them or give you a refund, since they were within our margin of error of 1/2” for inside the frame and +/- 1/8" adjustment. That's almost three quarters of an inch of an excuse not to replace these. If this is what they mean by “custom blinds” then the idea of “custom" can be thrown out the blind-less window. Their best customer service solution was to promise store credit after donating the items and providing them with proof of donation. So the best solution to a botched “custom” order is go find a donation place, donate your blinds, and then, maybe then we will give you store credit to order another set of blinds that we won’t guarantee they will fit. I offered to return their blinds for a replacement or refund but they won’t accept returns and will not do refunds. If you choose to purchase from SelectBlinds, my advice is read the fine print and hope for the best. My recommendation to you and what I will do in the future is to go to a more reputable company that has quality customer care. **★★ — Pepper, Oct. 2024** > We ordered blinds for our house from Select Blinds on July 2, 2022. Since that time, we have had to file warranty claims on three of our fifteen sets of blinds, with the latest warranty claim approved on June 28, 2024. After the second warranty claim, I called customer service, and they extended our warranty to five years. Now, with our third warranty claim, we are realizing even a five-year warranty isn't sufficient compensation for the rate of failure of this product. It is the Cordless Light Filtering Cellular Shades that have been failing, and they fail in the same way every time: one of the two internal cords breaks when pulling down the blinds. We don't have pets or young children. These blinds are being used by two adults who treat them gently. At the minimum, blinds should last seven to eight years. Some blinds, if handled gently, can last as long as ten to twenty years. I did have to use their FIT guarantee due to my mistake on entering the measurement into the order system, and I was able to call them up and have a new blind created and shipped to me all with in 5 minutes. They are always very helpful and nice when I call. At this point I have had the top down bottom up blonds installed for 4 years and still going strong. **★ — Missy Ackerman, Oct. 2023** > Blinds I received arrived fairly on time. Surprisingly the blinds were all labeled as a different color than what I ordered. When I contacted the company, they sent a sample of the material I ordered, and the comparison was similar enough to live with. The frame of the blind, the PVC plastic hardware was clearly beige/tan when I had ordered white. The company responded that they choose a color that coordinates with the material color (which was white...) Their resolution was to offer me 10% off the price of ordering all new replacement blinds. Not acceptable. > > Do your homework and find a different company. **★ — Julie, Oct. 2023** > I spent over $2,000 on shades and blinds. Be careful of the FIT guarantee. It excludes a lot of their products. All my shades were made with 1/4 inch less what I measured. One was only 1/8 of an inch. That was enough to make it not fit. They only gave me the original price minus 10%. Had no choice but to pay for another one. They did not give enough allowance for my measurement. I consider this partially their fault. If I had the 1/4 inch like the other shades it would have fit. I ordered 9 blinds so far from them and need another 14. I will look elsewhere for the rest. **★ — Clark Vinson, Sept. 2023** > The blinds were fine, but the hardware was useless. We ordered four Delecate Sheen Roman Shades that were over 4 feet long and within two weeks the locking mechanism that holds the blinds when retracted failed on the two larger blinds. Within two months the mechanism failed on the other two. After the first two failed I contacted the seller and told them that the blinds were too heavy for the locking mechanism. I had to seen videos of the mechanisms on both. They said they would send replacements and I told them not to since the blinds would simply fail again the second time. Not to be deterred, and not to refund my money and all the work I put into installing the blinds, they sent them anyway. They are now sitting in my garage still in the box, I guess until I throw them away. I posted a bad review on their site and it was taken down. I waited a year and posted another. It was also taken down. I didn't use bad language, I wrote pretty much what I'm saying here. I need help furnishing and decorating the living room and the bedrooms. I feel like there is too much wood in the whole house (the log walls, wood ceiling and the oak floor is almost in every room). I picked a Petra Slate Horizon tile (see in the picture) to cool down the orange color of wood. I was planning to tile the kitchen and the sun room with the Horizon tile. I do not know what colors and accessories to bring to this log cabin so it has a cozy mountain feel, but at the same time is a little bit modern. I guess i am looking for a modern/lodge style if it exists. Any help and advise from professionals is very appreciated. Please see the pictures. A: Do you have faux wood blinds on the top half of the window and then roman shades at the bottom? Love the color of the Roman's but they make the window look small being only the bottom half of the window. If you ever want to give that room a little more height, maybe try doing a roman that color the whole way up.
