I had fond childhood memories of frolicking in a rural garden with a happy sense of just "being" and "belonging" that I wished to recapture in my own garden but I didn't know how or where to start. Enter Olga from ENROOT, and the formation of a collaborative relationship dedicated to the re-creation of my garden. What impresses me most about Olga is her extensive plant knowledge, her artistry, her empathy for a more sustainable rural lifestyle, and how she has been sensitive to my budget. Olga produced a design that creates a wonderful connection between the house and surrounding land. She composed views from inside, as well as capturing views within and beyond the garden itself. The selection of plants combine stunning textures with colour and Olga has cleverly woven food production throughout. She guided the prioritization of construction and planting and supervised the various trades people involved. The design included new beds, stonework and lighting. We met with Olga to share thoughts. Olga was very thorough, listened carefully to our ideas, our likes and dislikes, and offered interesting suggestions. Particularly with respect to plant materials, Olga made creative recommendations that we would not otherwise have considered. She prepared the working drawings for the design and after only minor changes we were ready for construction. A: This piece was acquired many years ago at Camilla House Imports in Mississauga, Ontario. The metal obtains a lovely patina over time and requires no maintenance.
