**★★★★★ — Boys “Wild Kratt” bedroom, Dec. 2023**

> When my boys walked into their new “wild Kratt” boy’ bedroom, the joy & excitement they experienced made all the work SarahRose Interior Co. worth it & more.
>
> I look forward to next design project with SarahRose Interior Co.

> “Working with SarahRose was really nice. She created a super cute mantle for us that we enjoyed all Christmas season and gussied up our front entry with a few extra touches that made it sing!”

**★★★★★ — Anonymous, Nov. 2022**

> It's hard to put into words how much and why I love my bedroom redesigned by SarahRose Interiors Co.! The perfect combination of the main color and accent colors. A variety of textures in curtains, pillows, coverlet, linens, and rug. Use of mirrored closet doors to expand the space. Inclusion of foliage and window coverings to bring the outdoors in. Incorporation of favorite art and objects throughout my house that enhance my joy. Giving me choices of equally pleasing and functional furniture, fabrics and art. Although this project began with one inspiration piece, the entire room is now the inspiration piece for the rest of my house!

**Comment from Interiors by SarahRose:**

> I personally love how the geometric shapes and colors of your accent pillow is subtly reflected in the rug design. I'm so glad you took took a leap, and put your trust in me, to add drapery to your windows. I think now you can see how much softness it brings to your bedroom, and just looks like a completed look. Sweet dreams!

> SarahRose re-did an upstairs bedroom for us. Before she got to work, the room was functional but drab with a twin bed, a double bed, an amoire dresser and a bookcase. SarahRose got to work, spending just a little money and making use of unused items around the house. She added a lot of color and gave the room a cleaner, more vibrant look. It was an amazing transformation, and we were thrilled with the new look. In fact, the teenager who sleeps in that room was stunned by the beauty and vibrancy of his room. We are deeply indebted to SaraRose, and we highly recommend her with no reservations at all. She's a magician.

**Comment from Interiors by SarahRose:**

> Oooh, a magician? I'll take it! By focusing on just 3 ideas of contrast, personal artwork, and lighting solutions the upstairs bedroom really came to life. Luckily, you had so many items for me to shop in your home which really helped with the budget and personal style. Enjoy!

> I had been putting off redoing my kitchen for quite a while. The kitchen counters were a horrendous green formica from 1968, the walls an awful peach (i’m not sure what I was thinking when I choose that color). Picking out colors creates great anxiety and I get overwhelmed and more often then not I get it wrong. I called Sarah Rose for help. She listened patiently and helped me to have better understanding of how to look at color schemes that work well together. Gave my tiny dark kitchen a more spacious look. Once the kitchen was painted she assisted me in replacing the old counter top. I love the look of my new kitchen, the colors came out beautiful my new counter top fits in beautiful. I highly recommend Sarah Rose, she is very professional and accommodating.

**Comment from Interiors by SarahRose:**

> First of all- I'm sure those kitchen colors were all the rage back then :)
>
> You chose already chose a beautiful color for your cabinetry, but I'm so glad you still reached out to me for a color consultation. We played around with ideas of a painted back splash for now, with the possibility of adding one in the future. And I loved "shopping" with you at you visited different stone showrooms for your countertops. They are a huge surface and a major color and design decision in a kitchen. It was a bit of a journey, and I love the countertops you ended up with and think it really ties the whole kitchen together. Thanks so much!

> SarahRose was extremely helpful to us in planning our bathroom remodel. She had many creative ideas, particularly with respect to making the most of our small space. She understood what we were trying to do and worked with us to realize our ideas. She looked at what we were thinking about before meeting with us and put together a package that included suggestions with respect to colors and products we might incorporate. She spent a great deal of time with us (on Zoom) talking over every aspect of the project, patiently addressing all of our concerns. After we met, she gave us a summary of what we had talked about with even more suggestions. Our bathroom will be a far more beautiful and comfortable space because of her expertise.

**Comment from Interiors by SarahRose:**

> I am looking forward to seeing progress on your bathroom. I think it has so much potential, and will be worth the wait! It's not often that a couple is on the same page about a project, and seem to be equally involved in the process, so it was a pleasure working with you both. Thanks so much!

> SarahRose is. absolutely amazing! The work she did for us was wonderful- she is definitely a very talented interior designer and it was a pleasure working with her!
>
> We enjoyed learning from her as she used her designer perspective and personal creative input to turn our giant “ballroom” of a bedroom into a cozy and beautiful space which we will enjoy and love for many years to come.
>
> We highly recommend SarahRose Interiors and know that you will not be disappointed!

**Comment from Interiors by SarahRose:**

> Your project was really a 3-in-1 and it was a great challenge to create a cohesive and cozy space while designating several different zones. I love how our Farmhouse with elegance style came together, and I look forward to seeing the After Photos for this online interior design project. Thanks so much for your kind words!

> SarahRose is fantastic! She designed my toddler’s new room, and he loves it! Her ideas are inspirational and super cute. We chose a monster theme and couldn’t be happier with the results. I know my toddler will enjoy his new room for years to come

**Comment from Interiors by SarahRose:**

> I'm so happy to hear this. It was such a fun project to work on, I mean, it's monsters after all! You were a great repeat client to work with through online interior design. Hope you all enjoy his new room together!

> SarahRose is wonderful to work with! She made sure to understand our style and vision for our nursery. We loved how it turned out and couldn’t have asked for a better or more thoughtful designer!
>
> Without assistance, my husband and I would have ended up with blank walls and just functional pieces. The design survey revealed that a jungle theme and pops of color would really bring the vision in our heads to life. SarahRose’s ideas looked great in 3D models and even better once we finished.

> I hadn't updated anything in my home in over 10 years, including our furniture which was very outdated. When I went to the Ethan Allen store in Tualatin I was looking for a new couch and love seat to replace my 12-year old outdated sectional. I brought my mom and sister to help me because I didn't really know what I was looking for. SarahRose came up to us and offered to help show us around. After seeing everything, I got a feel for the style of couch I wanted but wasn't sure about the color. SarahRose offered to come to my home in Salem and help me choose the color, I didn't know this was a free service Ethan Allen offered. When she came over, she brought lots of fabric swatches. I wanted to choose just the right color fabric to match my moss green painted walls, tan carpet, and tan/brown kitchen chairs. Not only did she spend a lot of time helping me choose just the right fabric and making great suggestions, she also suggested new window coverings which I hadn't really thought of, but in hind sight, after looking at the "before" pictures, I desperately needed a new look to replace my very outdated curtains and plastic blinds.
>
> She took pictures and measurements and a couple of weeks later we went back to Tualatin and SarahRose gave us a PowerPoint presentation with potential new looks. We were so impressed with everything she chose. We decided to purchase pull down shades which have tan and moss green paired with beautiful floor length curtains in the living room, and then really awesome panel shades for my sliding glass door with a valance, and also got a shade and valance in the kitchen. They all match perfectly. She suggested a beautiful area rug which tied the room together. My home has a completely new look and feel and I absolutely LOVE everything she suggested and everything I bought. She wasn't pushy at all, just very sweet and helpful. The curtains were installed within three weeks. The furniture took a bit longer than expected as there was an unexpected delay with the fabric, but it was well worth the wait and Ethan Allen made right by me due to the delay. After everything arrived, SarahRose came out that Saturday and helped me choose which of my pictures I should hang back up after we painted the walls, and where I should put them.
>
> She definitely went above and beyond to help me choose what would look nice, and boy did I need a lot of help. Decorating is not my forte, I didn't even know where to begin, and I never would have been able to make the perfect selections like she did. The couch, love seat, shades and curtains/valances, and the area rug tie in beautifully with each other. It truly looks like a whole new house. Also SarahRose kept me informed with regular updates, and if I had a question, she always responded promptly. I would hire her again in a heartbeat, she's truly amazing at what she does. Thank you SarahRose for your expertise and your helpfulness. You rock!!

> SarahRose was very responsive to our needs and helped find a good fit for an end table and coffee table on line that would blend with our existing family room furniture. I highly recommend Ethan Allen and SarahRose for your furniture needs.

They have a collection of furniture from their previous home, retro pieces inherited from family, as well as new furniture. After the redesign, the bedroom feels bright, colorful, and has a subtle viewpoint of the homeowner- perfect for his family to enjoy! \* I approached this redesign in the same way I would a approach an occupied home staging project. ## Community Q&A

**Q: like this light** *(in Photo Questions)*

Like this light

A: Me too! I found it late last night, a total surprise after all the searching I've already done. I was going to include it on my bonus: accessories handout, but I just added it to your project. We'll use one of these in the library instead of 2 of the other lamp. They will look great together, and with the floor lamp :)

**Q: Dining Room - Keep it from sliding too old school!** *(in Home Decorating)*

Hello!
Chair and rug suggestions?
The room looks traditional at this point, but I want to pull it toward casual and updated.
Also, what is the right rug size? The room is 14' x 14' and the table is 108" x 44" so what size should the rug be? I thought 13' x 9'.
P.S. The ceiling detail was decided based on a Houzz Poll. Thanks!

A: Oh, and do you have a color scheme in mind for the chair and rug?

**Q: What color can I add to my dining room?** *(in Home Decorating)*

Hi,
So I just started to decorate my dining room after buying a house. My walls are a cream beige color, my dining room table has a beige glossy glass top with dark brown-black wood frame. My sideboard buffet matches my table, glossy beige cabinet doors with outside frame being dark wood.
For some contrast, I decided on a silver chandelier above the table. I added white silky curtains to brighten the room. I do not have any wall hangings or decorative accessories on my sideboard.
I feel the room is too beige and dark. It needs a splash of color whether it be by use of a painting above sideboard or decorative accessories on sideboard. Would a painting with teal and earthy tones look nice and an area rug with some teal be a good color comb for this room?

A: Yes, I think teal would add some energy for good dinner conversation without being too bold. Orange and blue are complementary colors (opposite on the color wheel), which are the same family to dark brown wood tones and teal artwork.

**Q: Please Vote: New Kitchen Layout** *(in Polls)*

We're remodeling our home and I wanted to get ideas on which option you guys like best?

A: My concern with \#1 is the refrigerator location. It is not optimal for a work triangle. An advantage of \#2 is the short walk, with groceries in hand, from the garage. I think \#2 or \#3 would be great options!

**Q: Help with kitchen cabinet colors** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am looking to repaint kitchen cabinets and change the countertop to bring our kitchen out of 1980s. I prefer a lighter color but given the floor is almost white I think it may be too sterile of a look, so thinking lighter on top and darker on bottom cabinets. Any suggestions? Apologies for the mess, out kitchen doesn’t always look like this :)

A: Sure, cream would also work just fine. I would advise a cream that had more of a mocha undertone rather than a yellow undertone to blend with the mocha base cabinets better. Sometimes a yellow/creamy white looks dirty, so just test the colors out in your home, with your lighting, before you paint your cabinets.
I like bright kitchens so I would suggest a creamy countertop or a lighter mocha than your base cabinets.. You could look at quartz or granite, or solid surface options. A granite would have more visual interest with it's swirling characteristics and shades of colors, and quartz would be a more simple look. The choice is yours :)

**Q: Need help with living room!** *(in Home Decorating)*

I have recently moved into a new apartment and I would love suggestions on how to add a bit of color to my living area. I am a big fan of the grey and white color scheme but do think I need a pop of color in there. Any tips or ideas?

A: Just wanted to check back and see if you have an After Photo yet :)
