> Great, Responsive, Concerned, Great Color and Design Talents, Smart Shopper, that is finds quality items at significant discounts, pays attention to detail, meets deadlines and stays within budget. These words describe Lori Falk. She is also extremely knowledgeable and very professional. And, when necessary -goes beyond the call of duty to make things happen on a project. I live in a rental building that has a very difficult Management Co. As a result Lori was faced with many challenges - all of which she met in a very professional manner with style and grace and got all tasks accomplished. I highly recommend her for an y type of interior design project.

> She helped me totally renovate my bathroom (down to the studs) and picked out a rug and coffee table for my living room.

> I have a 5x7 bathroom that hadn't been renovated since about 1947 - it was toothpaste green and black, and desperately in need of an update. I was totally overwhelmed with all the decisions that had to be made, and Lori was an absolute godsend. I couldn't have redone the bathroom without her. She spoke to me over the phone and then came to the apartment to do a "home visit." During these first meetings, she right away understood my taste and the look I was going for. She offered suggestions not only about design, but also construction and appliance choices. Once we agreed to work together, she did a wonderful job picking out everything (tile, bathtub, faucets, paint colors, the works) and met me at Home Depot to show me samples as well as what she had in mind. Once we agreed on the design, she recommended contractors, and created a detailed and helpful Excel spreadsheet with each item, the item \#, where it should be put in the bathroom, and notes. This let me not only speak knowledgeably to contractors, but also to comparison shop and make sure I found the best deals for each item. Long story short, the bathroom turned out better than I could have hoped for. It is beautiful, easy to maintain, restful, and looks much bigger and brighter than before. It looks modern, and clean, and yet still natural. I highly recommend Lori for any bathroom renovation. And when I save up the money for a ktichen redo, she'll be the first person I call!

> The rug and coffee table came out great too.

> Two years later, I am still enjoying the bedroom that Lori did. It was such a success, that we hired her again to redo the kitchen and dining room.
>
> Once again, we were very happy with the results, and find ourselves congratulating ourselves for our good judgement.
>
> Hire her...you will be very happy, for a long time.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Help! Need help in rearranging or decorating narrow nyc living room/di** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Help! I need to revamp and/or re-arrange narrow living room space -am attaching pictures the only thing that can't go is the coffee table (I know it's too big for the space but my husband loves it) and obviously the TV , i'm planning on doing a bit of a gallery wall behind the TV console area am thinking wall art and maybe family photos I'm just trying to make more space and make them more aesthetically pleasing!if anyone has any ideas how to please let me know soon! Thanks!!

A: My only concern about using the sideboard is the height. Most don't want to look up that high to watch TV in such a short distance. It's ok if you are sitting back farther. Try putting something solid under the TV to raise to see if the height works before you start moving. I would leave the sideboard where located w/gallery. You don't want a gallery wall around the TV to much happening. Best advice purge create more space with less. Do you need all the seating in the living space? If yes than scale down. With a toddler I would get rid of the hard edge coffee table (I know your husband loves it) but a smaller ottoman w/ tray or oval shape would be better. Obviously there are options.

**Q: What is the wall color please?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the warmer shades. Can you tell me what brand and palette?
Thank you

A: Thanks I love this warm tone. This is a Sherwin Williams Gold Brass SW0112 Satin.
Get a sample and compare in your light. Colors always appear different in different light. Hope this helps.
Best, Loir

**Q: Lovely! Is the butcher block flush with counter? How are they joined?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hello Cathy, thanks for your question. The key is a great counter top installer. The edges of the two counter surfaces are bonded together. But the fit needs to be exact so the installer is really a huge component. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Best Lori

**Q: Balance or a "Pop" of color?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Because of budget we chose a vanity that was interesting but still affordable. It turned out to be in the art deco style which I love and I feel that it goes with my more contemporary feel I am going for in my house. As you can see it has a very distinctive sea foam green glass counter top and sinks. My dilemma comes in when I struggle with the question of do I go for balance of that color in the room or do I just use it as a "pop" of color? The art deco style vanity drove the choice to have "marble-like" tiles with intermittent black ones. We also have glass tile with a slight green tint to add variety.

On the opposite side from where the vanity will be is the tub that has a huge window that begs covering. Tell me, should I try to incorporate all of the colors in the material for the window covering? Or do I go with black that will be the most overwhelming color on the one side where the vanity is. It is nearly impossible to find material that has black, white, grey/silver/chrome, and sea foam green in it (unless you go for the over $100/yard material) I usually can "feel" my way through decorating but sometimes I can get off track when it comes to balance. Please HELP!

A: Susan you are welcome. There is so much to renovation and we focus on visual and budget. It's hard for the average remodeler to know safety and codes but its what keeps us all safe. Good luck.
