> I absolutely cannot be more happy with the work April and the team did for us. We have never worked with a designer before and were very intimidated by the idea, largely because we weren't sure if anyone would really "get" our vision and partly because we viewed interior design as out of our range. After stumbling across April’s portfolio, we scheduled a consult. From day one, the team put us at ease and explained every step of the way.

> We laid out our budget and April was very sensitive to it, but also upfront about what was realistic. She didn’t just say "no" to things; if something blew the budget, she’d find cost-effective alternatives that still maintained quality. Once we did a walkthrough and provided our inspiration, we had our first design reveal. From there, we knew we were in good hands because they just got it.

> We gutted a painfully out-of-date kitchen, reconfigured a less-than-functional pantry/laundry, and transformed a large empty formal dining area into a proper study. During meetings with vendors and trades, the team was right next to us making sure we understood the process and advocating for our vision. Prior to construction, I wanted to do some demo myself. April was happy to accommodate that and, because I’m somewhat scattered, she integrated my portion into the timeline with specific completion dates.

> During construction, the crew was friendly, did great work, and accommodated us while we lived upstairs. There were, unavoidably, a couple of hiccups, but the team made sure every issue was made right. April, Sam, and Mina were incredibly communicative and kept us updated on what to expect. > My experience with April Interiors has been incredibly disappointing - I’m not one to leave negative reviews but really want others to avoid the issues we’ve had with them. April is rude and has taken zero responsibility for the mistakes they’ve made, their pricing consistently exceeded initial quotes, and additional charges for minor oversights felt unjustified, such as a $500 fee to rectify a small 2 inch wall painting error.

> They’ve on multiple times ordered duplicate items to our home, charging us for their time ordering them and for the items themselves. They ordered a custom cabinet that we didn’t approve and told us that removal of the cabinet would cost thousands (we weren’t home when they installed and didn’t even know we were paying for it to be custom made). I’ve attached a photo of this - it looks completely out of place in our home and is not something I would’ve ever asked for - we don’t need this storage space in a toilet. This is just one of many issues we’ve had like this.

> Furthermore, every contractor that has visited the house on their behalf expressed severe dissatisfaction with April Interiors, stating that the issues we have had are very common place, and that April and her team never take responsibility. She did a walk through of my home providing suggestions and answering my questions. April didn't reference the lengthy design questionnaire her office required me to complete, didn't provide many tips outside of my direct questions, and I never heard from them again. There was tension throughout the session and a vibe of 'this is a complete waste of my time' on her part. I can understand that, if she's used to doing large scale projects - I just wish it would have been discussed upfront. My previous experience with designers they felt passionate about meeting my home goals and seemed excited to help me see their vision for my home. This wasn't that. The fee was $175.

Houzzers,
I am trying to finish off my open spaces mid century modern living room with some Asian decor pieces.
Things that are not featured in this living room but is on the way
1\) an overdyed patchwork carpet that runs from under the 4 legs of the sofa until the TV cabinet; and

2\) a piece of artwork to be fitted on the wall above the papa bear chair which looks something like the link below. I will be making this myself by using fabric with colours similar to the carpet of the living and dining room as well as other colours that I can pick out of the living room

I'm planning to add a floor standing lamp next to the papa bear chair on the side closest to the blinds and I can't decide if it should be the lamp Santa & Cole G5 tripode lamp in black, red or terracotta neutral shade, or a Tom Dixon base floor standing lamp.

A: Sorry I wasn't finished...a shade that has some metallic thread in it, this will create a glow. Possibly in a bronze or pewter color. Good luck.
