> Thomas and I have collaborated on many interesting projects over the years. I can rely on him to produce beautifully crafted work and to always find a creative solution to an unforeseen problem. Thomas always delivers his work on time and on budget and I will always look forward to working with him in the future.

> As an architect and designer, we have hired Thomas for a number of projects ranging from guardrails to lighting to fireplaces. He is a true artisan and always produces exceptional work!

**★★★★★ — Holloway Studios, Feb. 2012**

> Thomas has been a great resource through Myers Design, Inc., Indianapolis for the last twelve years. I always rely on them to make my concepts a reality and everything is always delivered on time. There are no problems when working with Thomas Ramey or Jason Myers from MDI... only solutions that can take design into the higher arts if you give them creative freedom.
> I am so glad to see Thomas in the Houzz Community.

  - Description: This chandelier was fabricated by me over a two month period. The original inspiration was a chandelier from the 1700's This was my take on the era's gothic look. The chandelier is a 6 foot diameter, the body is 12" tall. The chains took over two weeks to complete. I started with regular chain then fabricated half circle spikes then wrapped them with a thinner piece of round bar stock steel. There is over 100 feet of chain.

## Community Q&A

**Q: who supplies and installs the feature wall paneling?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: @dupris, the wall panels are handmade, hand patinaed steel panels. This is the kind of work I do. I fabricated them and installed them.

**Q: Panelling** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi - could I ask what material the panelling is made from and is it available to purchase - thanks

A: If you are referring to the black and brown panels, this is why the photo is posted on my page. Those are hand patinaed steel plates. This is the work I do. That wall is the back of a bigger fireplace. These panels are hand done in my studio.

**Q: How do you achieve that finish? How did you attach to the wall?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The finish is a trade secret. :-) I specialize in blackened steel. The frames for the panels were screwed into the wall then the panels were attached using an epoxy.

**Q: Love the Fireplace** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where can I purchase the entire fireplace unit?

A: This project is a complete custom design and build. This is what I do. Nothing can just be "purchased". This was a four month project. I would be more than happy to have a consultation about this scale of project if that is something you are interested in. Thank you very much for the nice comment about my work. :)

**Q: Where can I get this railing system?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: You can't. It was designed by me and the architect. I built it. This is what I do. It is not a store bought "system"

**Q: Info about floor** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can I get info on dimensions of raised floor, how it was constructed and what materials used?? Absolutely love it!

A: The only thing I remember about the floor is seeing them build the raised floor area for the kitchen. I have no clue what kind of stone that is. It was nice thick stone. 1" if I remember.
