## Community Q&A

**Q: is the poof a diy? How did you do it?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: It is a DIY! I used jute and the thickest knitting needles I could find (like these: http://www.michaels.com/loops-and-threads-jumbo-wood-knitting-needles/10381054.html\#pmpt=qualifying&start=10) and used this pattern (the easiest one there is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tff3ng-djtk) to get them knitted. After I knitted a rectangular piece that was large enough, I tied the ends to make it look like an infinity scarf. Next, you tie an oculus at the bottom of this to form something like a funnel. You stuff it with comforters or pillows, and then last, tie the top. The hardest part was tying the top but with enough strength, I am sure you can do it!

Hope this helps :)

**Q: how do I make this room a tad more feminine?** *(in Photo Questions)*

This is totaly my style! I have the rug on order and I own a grey modern couch. Only difference is I have a Sherwin Wlliams Seal Gray feature wall (almost black) and I plan to paint the rest of my large living room something in the orange/sienna family.

A: Hey Alana! Those are some bold colors you have picked! You are absolutely right, the space feels rather masculine right now, doesn't it? I guess I am compensating for something, haha. Accessories are always an easy and affordable way of changing things up. If you find some accessories with feminine lines (such as candle holders or vases) in whites or orange, that may help tremendously. I would go for impact so get a bunch and make a statement out of them. Another, a bit more costly way, is to change up the chairs. The ones I currently have are very strict and boxy which makes their shape rather masculine. You could soften things up with a more feminine, retro-looking chair (from, say, Urban Outfitters or even Ikea - they have added some gorgeous chairs in their latest collection).

Hope this helps! I would love to see what you do with the space so if you don't mind shooting me an e-mail with your pic, I would love to check it out! merus.design@att.net

**Q: Dog** *(in Photo Questions)*

Is that Chelsea handlers dog, Chewie?

A: Haha, it is not but she does have the same mix of breeds (German Shepherd and Chow). And funny enough, my dog's name is Chewie. Go figure!

**Q: How can I buy this magazine rack** *(in Photo Questions)*

cost?
dimensions?

A: Hi there! This was purchased from Ikea: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20118174/
Unfortunately, they no longer sell them in white but you can always use a can of spray paint!

Hope that helps!

**Q: Clear Christmas Ornament with Gold** *(in Photo Questions)*

What did you use for the gold filling in the clear ornament? It is very beautiful!

A: Hi! I actually used a bag of decorative pebbles. They looked like miniature glass pieces in the bag. I purchased them from the local Hobby Lobby.

**Q: where can i buy a pouf like this?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I am afraid that these I made on my own and yes, I used jute... But they are super easy to make! You can google DIY poufs and get plenty of results.
