The house was originally a carriage house with additions and renovations done at different times. We now have a wonderful home thanks to the dedicated and detailed work of Stan. He transform a series of rooms into a cohesive house and his knowledge and problem-solving abilities were key to completing renovation. We have been enjoying our renovated home for the last 3 month with all systems working without any problems. Every visitor complements the finishes through the house. > Importantly, when we started the project Stan gave us a finish date of July 2017 and he delivered a few days ahead of time. We had previously builded a house and renovated a second and this had never happen. > We recommend Barry Builders without reservation. We have used Barry Builders for dozens of projects, from wainscoting our living room to replacing French doors and repairing the exterior walls of our house. We moved to a new home last year, and Stan has remodeled our Kitchen island and installed a cedar closet for us. He is also scheduled to do a major basement remodel in connection with our pool installation. Suffice it to say that Stan is meticulous craftsman. He is responsive, skilled and always on time. He coordinates with all subs, provides clear and reliable estimates and quotes and corrects any minor nits or changes with aplomb. We highly recommend his work. He has done small, medium, large ang gigantic-sized prjects. We have done projects ranging in price from $1000 to $1 million. The last prjoct, the million dollar project lasted over a year. We added over 2500 square feet to an already large house. This job required adding intricate retaining walls, underground pipe system....Everything. And, each morning during this project, as I sat in my den-turned-makeshift, kitchen, I smiled at 8 on the dot when I heard the backup beeps of Stan's truck coming up my driveway. And, Stan would come in, say Good Morning, as if he meant it, and hand me my paper that he had picked up at the bottom of the driveway. And, on that project and on every other project and just whenever something goes wrong in the house or the yard, when I call Stan and tell him, the first words out of his mouth are always, "No problem." And, after that, it never is a problem. At least not for me. I often tell people that if I were ever stranded on a highway with my car, the first person I'd call if my husband were out of town would be Stan. I am confident that he'd hear my perdicament and calmly say, "No problem, I'll be right there." > And, as superb as Stan's service and managerial style are, his cabinetry craftsmanship and is just as superb.. I wish I needed an even bigger house or needed to buy another house so that Stan could help me with it. He has built a 900 sq. foot addition on our home, completely renovated our kitchen, installed a new bathroom, as well as several other projects. Each job has been carried out with the utmost integrity and professionalism. Stan always has a knowledgeable, creative approach to the project. His experience and know-how result in a finished product that is not only beautiful, but perfectly functional and meticulously crafted. His subcontractors are always of the highest caliber and are also very easy to have around during the renovation. Plus, on completion of project (as well as each day) the job site is left neat and clean. Stan and his subs are friendly, respectful and attentive to the needs and wants of the customer. The work was meticulous and thorough and done in a timely way despite the terrible weather conditions (snow) and difficult access to our off-the-road property. His scheduling of electricians, roofers, etc., was precise so there were no hold-ups. That is a big deal when you are living in a temporary mess. If you are looking for a "handyman" type of contractor, Barry Builders would not be for you. They are craftspeople and, while they work with you as best they can to maintain budget (hard for me to judge because we changed so many things from project inception to completion - and Stan handled our changes with aplomb and professionalism, even when he didn't completely agree with our concept), they are probably not the least expensive option. That being said, the less expensive options would not not have produced the beautiful master bath that now graces my house. I would not hesitate to work with Stan Barry again on future projects.
