> In mid-2020 (yes, that 2020!) we had Steve Minor & his Noble team renovate our bonus room & add an extra bath to a wasted attic space, then we threw in a master bath redo while they were here because - Why not?!? We grew to see many of the talented & personable contractors like extended family, while we observed their strong work ethic & attention to detail on the job. We’ve enjoyed our improved space immensely. In fact, we invited the whole gang back again Spring/Summer 2024 for a much needed kitchen remodel, with a total change in the layout, 2.5 x the storage & a look that works beautifully in our home. The transformation is amazing. They also knocked down a nearby wall to open up the entire first floor, rebuilt our deck bigger & better & gave us a Harry Potter closet in the previously wasted space under the stairs. We are so happy with the results & appreciate the team at Noble Renovation who made it happen.

> We can’t say enough good things about Steve Minor and his team at Noble Renovation. Having known Steve for over 20 years, we have always considered him to be a person of strong character. Steve is a great communicator, a good listener, an avid learner and always on the cutting edge of home design and innovation. His goal is always to use the best sub-contractors. For all these reasons, we had no doubt that Steve was our \#1 choice in selecting a builder for our custom home build in downtown Apex.
>
> Because of Steve’s thoroughness, we knew from the beginning what our expectations should be and also the expectations of Noble Renovation. Steve’s standards for his company are exemplary.
>
> The building process lasted a year. Colton, his superintendent and Raul, his designer were invaluable to the whole building process. Steve and his team went above and beyond to address the daily needs, problem solving and answering questions. Raul, his designer did countless computer images to help us envision our hopes for the final outcome of our dream home. It truly is more than we had hoped for because of these incredible skills. The computer 3D walk-through was so helpful and confirmed some of our choices along the way, both for the interior and exterior of our home.
>
> Mauricio, the framer, was amazing! He and his team worked tirelessly to frame a very tall, steep pitched roofing system on our tutor inspired home. He patiently made changes as we realized we wanted higher ceilings in multiple rooms. The craftsmanship of his work is superior.
>
> Because the open concept kitchen/dining/living room is the heart of our home, Steve and his team knew we needed to make it really special.
> His collaboration with Tice Kitchens and Interiors resulted in stunning custom cabinets that exceeded our expectations. They are just beautiful! Steve went with us to meet with Scott Tice and walked through the factory. We appreciate that Steve was so invested in every detail of the building process. Steve’s involvement gave us so much confidence along the way.
>
> Colton, Steve’s superintendent is commendable in his character, knowledge and abilities. He communicated well with us and other contractors and was always respectful in our interactions. He was always reliable if he said he would take care of something. Usually doing way more than was required. We are very grateful we had the opportunity to get to work with him.
>
> Steve managed our project with great care, keeping supplies and workers on schedule. His attention to detail extended to every aspect of the build ensuring the high level of detail and craftsmanship.
> We owe thanks to the carpenters, electricians and so many other trades that worked very hard on our home
> with great skill. They all made it a positive environment to visit each day.
>
> We love our new home and would highly recommend anyone who is considering building their dream home to use Steve’s company, Noble Renovation. We had a great experience!

> Project Summary and Contractor Selection:
> Where to start, it’s been a long but amazing journey with Noble Renovation. Our project consisted of a whole house remodel with addition. With a project this large we needed to make sure we were very comfortable with the company and their suppliers/sub contractors. We met with multiple companies to discuss our project and to get a general ballpark of what it would look like in terms of execution and price. It was at this time that Noble Renovation stood out from the competition. We thought we knew exactly what we wanted to do in the house, but Steve and his tremendous background in the industry, provided fantastic ideas that made us reconsider some of the plans. A great example of this was a very small unused dining room we had next to the kitchen. Steve introduced us to an idea called a scullery which is essentially a glorified pantry. He showed us how it could be an extension of the kitchen and it made perfect sense.
>
> Design:
> We entered the design stage where we met Raul, who used CAD to show us different options. He displayed great talent to create a vision of our goals. He was very patient with us as we worked through various selections. We did our best to have all major selections done prior to construction beginning, but still had others that dragged on due to our indecisiveness. Again, he was very patient and followed up regularly to provide additional guidance. We even had a couple change orders where we updated the fireplace and expanded the mudroom/ guest bath. He quickly provided design renderings to help move that process along quickly.
>
> Execution: We met with Colton, who was the Super on our job. We knew that at some point we’d be relocating to an apartment and Noble did a great job of keeping us in the house while they worked the extension with minimal interruption. We were provided helpful updates throughout the project. If we had questions about anything or wanted additional information Colton was fast to provide. He was very into the details with all of their preferred contractors brought in to do work. He made sure the job site was as clean as possible, and it was obvious that there was a high level of respect between him and the other contractors. In addition, Steve and Raul would frequent to house make sure everything was going as expected.
>
> Overall:
> The house is beautiful and we’re very happy with the workmanship and the selections chosen. The new house configuration is much more functional and enjoyable. As with most projects of this magnitude there were some minor issues along the way. The team at Noble were very quick to understand and remedy. I was very impressed with their professionalism in how they handled our inquires all throughout. We have no hesitation to recommend Noble for your next project. Their track record will provide you peace of mind that everything will be completed as to your agreed upon plans.

> We selected Noble Renovation to update our master bath and add porch, 2nd laundry, 2nd master closet, replaced carpet with hardwood stairs/new railing on both sets of stairs, replaced carpet with hardwood floor in first floor room and upstairs hallway and refreshed bedroom carpets throughout remainder of house. With the project now complete and about 3 months into enjoying our new spaces, we couldn’t be happier with Noble.
> Lots to say about Noble and Steve, but in a nutshell, we felt like Steve is a hands-on manager with great suggestions and a terrific team. They communicate very well; his project manager and designer are both outstanding, and his subcontractors are responsive and dependable.
>
> Design
> Aesthetically, Noble’s in-house designer was outstanding throughout. He quickly learned our design preferences and was flexible in making suggestions, offering alternatives and sometimes, just having a conversation about items we selected where potentially even better options existed. Subsequent to these designs, he generated 3D renderings of the look which were terrific for refining designs, assuring us everything would look ok and sharing with friends and family prior to the work being initiated.
>
> Renovation process
> Once in process, it is encouraging to see progress almost every day. Noble maintains a program management system which articulates which contractors will be on site, and nearly every day either Steve or his project manager were there to oversee the work and tidy toward the end of the day. Additionally, having them there daily allowed ample homeowner-GC conversation to catch things in real time and review areas of concern before potential issues could escalate.
>
> Structural stability
> On our project, and particularly in some areas of concern we had with framing stability, he both specified materials and used a design that exceeded engineering requirements. He also upgraded fasteners in key areas to insure stability. In several of our weather-facing areas, he was very particular about interfaces to ensure driving rain would not penetrate our structure.
>
> Financial
> I don't think Noble is the least expensive renovation option available, but they are fair, and the quality reflects their overall desire to create solid and esthetically pleasing living spaces. Price-wise they came in within 5% of their estimate which we consider acceptable. Having seen the materials and care that goes into their work, my wife and I both feel like this is money very well spent.
>
> During the course of a whole house renovation, minor mistakes will happen. We felt like Noble responded positively and fairly in each instance.
>
> We will probably do a kitchen renovation next and likely won’t even interview any other subcontractors. We highly recommend Steve and his team for renovation work.

**Comment from Noble Renovation:**

> Bill, thank you for this incredible review! Our team enjoyed your project. We look forward to capturing photos for our website very soon! You and Patti are terrific clients. BTW: We're doing a project around the corner from you starting next week, Colton and I will be sure to stop by and say hello. Cheers!

> Steve and his crew from the very start of our project did an excellent job. The attention to detail, craftsmanship, any schedule changes were all thoroughly communicated and followed through. We highly recommend Noble Renovation !

**★★★★★ — HU-192878624, June 2022**

> Noble Renovation did a beautiful job helping us finish our entire third floor (attic) space. From presenting fantastic floorplan options to considering all the minor details, Noble Renovation was there to guide us on all decisions. The entire team was very professional throughout the entire project, being extremely communicative, courteous, available, and very considerate of our family's needs. Their level of project management expertise, along with their online portal, provided us with great confidence from start to finish. We have received so many compliments on our new space!

**★★★★★ — Cary Park 1st Floor Renovation, Feb. 2022**

> Very impressed with Noble's Management Team! Very professional, courteous, interactive and communicative. Our job was very tedious and their expertise guided us through a very detailed job. We could not be happier with our renovation!

**Comment from Noble Renovation:**

> Thank you Joanna and Ric - we really enjoyed working for you. Your designer, Nicole, really made the process easy for us. The kitchen turned out amazing. We should have our new and improved website up next week...and of course your project will be well represented in the Kitchen Gallery! Happy Superbowl Weekend!

**★★★★★ — michael\_kosem, Oct. 2021**

> Noble Renovation is outstanding. It is so refreshing to work with knowledgeable experts who are creative, flexible, reliable and honest/trustworthy. Steve and Colton have such a great attention to detail and made certain to be present at all the right times during the process to manage each and every sub-contractor.
>
> Our home is now stunning! We love the work you did so very much. Our newly remodeled kitchen, refinished hardwoods and newly painted interior throughout the house turned out even better than we ever imagined. We are so appreciative of all the Noble Renovation Team (specifically Steve and Colton) did. We appreciate your graciousness when we were feeling stressed and didn’t communicate as well as we could have. Thank you for taking such great care to communicate with us and take care of our time, space and pets. Since we started our project we felt feel like everyone we spoke to has told us a nightmare stories of their renovations. Every time I have said out loud…. Ours has been quite the opposite, we couldn’t be happier with the Noble Renovation Team.

**★★★★★ — bsprinkle, Aug. 2021**

> We did a large project with Steve - moved the kitchen to another room, moved/removed walls, added a bar, replaced the flooring, replaced many windows/doors, added a ceiling to create an office upstairs, completely rearranged our master bath and closet; it was massive. Lots of decisions, lots of stuff to move out, including ourselves for a while.
>
> We received photo/video updates everyday on what had taken place. Steve would identify any issues or questions that needed to be resolved. He would point out things that needed to change or perhaps needed to be done (redone) by a contractor in order to meet his (and our) expectations. We were often behind schedule in selections but never felt any frustration from Steve.
>
> The two things I appreciate most about Steve: 1) his belief that he's working for us, we just need to let him know what we want and 2) his attention to detail.
>
> Would certainly recommend him and his team.

**Comment from Noble Renovation:**

> Thank you for the kind words Brent, we enjoyed working for you and your wife. It was a great project.

**★★★★★ — HU-5701506402, Feb. 2021**

> Noble Renovation was outstanding! Steve and team did an attic space renovation (which included some tricky roof and ceiling work), plus a master bath renovation. Throughout the project Steve provided creative ideas as to how best to utilize our space. Steve's experience and input were very helpful in creating a perfect space for us.
>
> We really enjoyed working with Steve's crews. They were professional, highly skilled and did amazing work. Colton has very good attention to detail and was always available to problem solve and keep the project moving. Overall, Steve and the Noble Renovations team are good, trustworthy people and that is so important on a major renovation project.
>
> The next time we need renovation work done we will be calling Steve. Thanks for a job well done!

**Comment from Noble Renovation:**

> Thank you Mr.Boone, it was a pleasure designing and building out your project and working with you and your wife Kelly along the journey. The spaces turned out nice and we look forward to returning this spring to capture professional photos for our website!

**★★★★★ — Adam Mathews, March 2020**

> I recently employed Noble Renovation to my finish basement. The project was to turn my unfinished, 900 sf space into a movie theater, bar area, general purpose room and half bathroom.
>
> The biggest thing for me that one needs from a contractor coming into your home is trust, and Steve Noble very quickly earns your trust. My project came with some specific requirements for the movie room, not least of which was a significant amount of soundproofing. Even before the contract was signed Steve did the necessary research to understand it and was very attentive and accommodating of the smallest of details that come with effective soundproofing.
>
> We were very satisfied with the quality of his work also. The trim guys he uses were particularly good. He lets you know what work is scheduled that day/week etc and even though we suffered a few weeks delay (not Steve's fault) he still got the work finished by Xmas as he had promised.
>
> Steve visits the project regularly and oversees progress, updates you etc rather than just calling subcontractors and letting them sort it out. You can probably find contractors that are cheaper than Noble, but his pricing is very transparent and certainly reasonable, and when it comes to home remodeling, you absolutely get what you pay for. We were certainly left content that we got a great product and value for our money.
>
> I would absolutely recommend Noble Renovation to anyone looking for any kind of remodel and Steve is a pleasure to work with, who takes pride in both his work and his customers.

**★★★★★ — Tony Vendittelli, Oct. 2019**

> Noble did a terrific job in planning and building our 3 season deck. They showed up as scheduled until the job was completed and always made certain the area was cleaned up. The workers were extremely professional and real craftsmen. I would highly recommend Noble Renovation for any project.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Love the floor!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you share which flooring was used?

A: Hello, it's tiled floor, 8 x 36 "Chalet Mahogany".

**Q: Would love to know the color of the shingles on the roof.** *(in Photo Questions)*

I have based my house colors, shutters etc off this house. I love the color combo! But, now I would like to know the color of the shingles that were used. Thanks so much!

A: Good evening - Certainteed Landmark pro series Black Moire... I would emphasize Pro...because it makes a big difference in color over their standard Landmark Black Moire.

**Q: Does the TV get hot when the fireplace is on?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I like the look but I've always wondered about the heat.

A: That's a great question. According to the fireplace manufacture we are well above the min requirements for combustible materials. Keep in mind this is a direct vent fireplace, which are supper efficient units. We prefer to have a mantel to help shield rising heat, plus they look nice, but in this case, the client wanted a modern look without a mantel and there isn't another place for the TV in this particular living room for a 75" TV. That said, this fireplace unit has a blower which pushes the hot air out into the living space rather allow it to flow straight up into the TV. We've not heard an issue from the client about over heating the TV. I would read the fireplace manufacture recommendations about "combustible" clearances" before placing a TV above your fireplace. Lastly, you can add a short metal shield right above the fireplace to help direct the hot air flow away from the TV / wall. Hope this information is helpful! - Steve
