Founded by former Disney Imagineers, Art and Automation is an imaginative and inventive company with engineering resources and design experience unmatched in Hawaii… or anywhere else for that matter. No other company in the State of Hawaii offers the breadth of capabilities that we do.

Although audio/video distribution and control is at the heart of what we do, we also specialize in lighting design and lighting control systems that both accentuate your home and save energy at the same time. And, with a former IMAX Theater engineer on staff, we’ve been known to knock out a pretty impressive theater from time to time as well. In fact, in 2007 we were awarded an Electronic House of the Year Award. 

Art and Automation is proud of our strong commitment to our community and to our environment. In addition to our ongoing support of local organizations, in 2007 we coordinated and donated the AV systems for a family on Oahu and community center, both featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition.

We are members of the US Green Building Council, the American Institute of Architects. They listened to our objectives, recommended a comprehensive plan with many options, provided clear recommendations and advice when we asked for it, and presented a timeline and budget that has been right on target.  They are always fast to respond any time we have follow-up questions or want to make a tweak to enhance our technology experiences even further. They are absolutely top notch:  a great firm and terrific people!!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Who makes the wall sconces?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Those wall sconces look really cool. Any idea who makes them? I've seen variations of them in theaters as well.

A: Sorry, we don't know who made those, but they are using two pieces of coated glass that transmit some of the light in pink/purple and reflect the orage/green.  Mahalo for writing.

**Q: Room size** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me the room size of the home theater? thanks!

A: We had to fit this in to an existing space that was 23' 8" deep x 14' 4" wide x 11' 10" tall.
