Opposite wall: A: Consider painting the back wall of the shelves and editing out some of the books so the color shows through. I know book lovers have a hard time parting with their books but reorganizing and adding some accessories might be very nice. It may also help "lighten" up the bookshelf wall which feels heavy compared to what you have on the other side of the room. If you are not opposed to taking some of the covers off, many books have wonderful hard covers that are less fussy than the paper covers and can be lots of fun to work with.
