HANDCRAFTED LEATHER-FRAMED EQUESTRIAN MIRRORS, LIGHTING & DECOR
Add a touch of rich equestrian chic to any environment. We hand-tack genuine leather saddlery (old or new) around a high quality mirror glass and trim it with authentic horse tack, bits and nailhead detail. We also create serving trays, lamps and other home decor, all adorned with beautiful equestrian elements.

Many of the vintage bridles and harnesses we design around are found at farms, barns and estates in Upstate New York. Because each piece is uniquely found, the style and details on each mirror varies, resulting in a unique work of art. We also use new full-grain buffalo leather and Hermann Oak English bridle leather in our designs.

We clean, condition and touch up the vintage leather as much as possible, but please keep in mind that it usually contains some natural wear and tear, an occasional scratch or even a faint 'horsey' smell. (Our horse fans love that smell!) We feel it adds to the overall character of each piece. The mirror itself is very high quality, cut locally, with a finished beveled edge and 1/4" thick (so no 'funhouse' warping)..

This is handcrafted artisan décor, created by award-winning designer Stephanie Reppas in her New York studio.

> I was searching for a classy piece of equestrian art for my home. I came upon the leather equestrian mirror and fell in love. I immediately contacted Stephanie Reppas. Instead of just placing an order, she wanted to know about me and my equestrian background. She even asked if I had a bridle and/or a bit that I wanted her to use. (Sadly, I didn't.) Stephanie emailed me every step of the way, including pictures of bridles and bits for me to choose from. When I received the final product, I was amazed. She made this beautiful piece of art that I now have hung over the fireplace. It was made with purpose, thoughtfulness and precision. I am so very thankful to her and October Design Co.

> I have two different pieces from this designer. I have a wonderful lamp which exhibits fine craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and adds just the right amount of individuality to the room without, disrupting the flow of the room. The second piece was a funky little gem. A wonderful handcrafted pendent. The design is sleek and fun. Shipped as promised. I will use this company again.

> I ordered a spiral clock and was delighted with the finesse of the design. I surrounded it with delicate butterflies, and it goes beautifully with my office decor. I have had a great experience with October Design Co. and would recommend it for any designer or layperson.

> I have the orange wing pendant lamp handing in my daughter's room. It is so cool, and it creates a wonderful soft glow so I can leave it on for her at night as a reading/night light. It really has a fantastic design, it was easy to hang and it creates great ambiance. This is a fun lamp by a great designer. It is original, whimsical, and well crafted too.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Jelly fish light** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is it made of, how big is it, how long, and do you have other colors?

A: Hello, and thank you for your inquiry. That was a custom hand-cut lenticular plastic film lamp in royal blue. approximately 28" long x 20" diameter, for $230. The film does come in other colors (white, black, purple, aqua, red - please see attached photos for color reference).

**Q: Any way to see a picture of this in a lit condition?** *(in Product Questions)*

A: Hi - yes, I can provide a photo of it lit. It is an opaque shade and directs the light downward. This takes a 60 watt incandescent bulb with standard E-26 base; I recommend using a similar wattage LED bulb (60-75 watt equivalent LED) which will emits less heat.

I am away on business through this weekend; will provide a photo when I return - thanks!

**Q: Hi.. will you notify me if you get this in again?** *(in Product Questions)*

Birch Wood Hanging Pendant Lamp II, With Plug-in Cord

A: Hi there, and thank you for your interest. We should have one up for sale in a couple of days. Please check back, and have a great night!

**Q: Soffit ?** *(in Product Questions)*

Hi,

Do these come with soffits and what is the diameter. I need three pendants with soffits under four inches.

Thanks!

A: Yes, the Plug-in cord lamp comes with an inline on/off switch about 3 feet from the plug. The Hard-wire version of the lamp wires into your ceiling, so would be turned on and off with the connected light switch.

**Q: Choosing lighting and the demise of incandescent bulbs** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am in the process of choosing new lighting fixtures for a house. My design taste runs to chandelier, pendants, lanterns, etc. that look best with incandescent bulbs or vintage Edison bulbs. With the new laws that prohibit manufacture of incandescent bulbs, should I reconsider design choices and consider fixtures that hide the rather ugly compact fluorescent or LED bulbs with exposed heat sinks? Or start hoarding incandescent bulbs?

A: Hello, I've just introduced a line of Edison-style LED light bulbs in my shop. They have the same antique feel as the antique incandescent bulbs, but offer a much longer life and significant energy savings on your annual electric bill. More information is available here:

**Q: Is it important to use a filament light bulb with a clear glass shade?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I love the look, but those light bulbs are so expensive. If I got a fixture like this, can I use a "normal" light bulb and still have it look good?

A: Hello, I've just introduced a line of Edison-style LED light bulbs in my shop. They have the same antique feel as their incandescent counterpart, but offer a much longer life and significant energy savings on your annual electric bill in the long run. More information is available here:
