We bought our home from Mitchel and Best in Maple Lawn about a year and a half ago. We looked at the other 3 builders in Maple Lawn beforehand and after talking to a bunch of families who already lived here, it became clear that there was a real quality hierarchy among the 4 builders, with Mitchel and Best agreed by all to be the best. We were a little skeptical, after all we figured everyone builds a good house, right? Well after a year and a half of experience we are absolutely thrilled with our decision. Mitchel and Best was fantastic throughout the building process and ever since. No fix is too small for them to come out, probably because there are basically no issues! Its actually a little embarrassing - when all the new homeowners on the playground or the pool get together and complain about the issues they are facing (thats what new homeowners inevitably talk about), we and the other Mitchel and Best folks kind of smile and nod since we don't have anything to contribute to the conversation, and its not nice to brag. Inside though, we feel really smart. Even after we are past our 1 year mark, they are still helping us out if anything minor does happen. We thought we were going to look at a pre-existing home only to find a small neighborhood with empty lots. Having no desire to go through the new construction process, we reluctantly agreed to visit the model home Mitchell and Best had in Maple Lawn. We were so impressed with the build quality and their reputation that we decided to have Mitchell and Best build our home. Driving by daily to see the progress, it would not be unusual to see the foreman staying late by himself going over minute details. We were VERY impressed with the quality control. The quality of materials exceeded those of their competitors. Mitchell and Best worked with us to have a few changes made in design that we wanted. Post construction, we had a few minor issues which Mitchell and Best addressed without reservation. Having owned and known people who do own them, Mitchell and Best was superior in quality and construction when compared to Stanley Martin, Toll Brothers, NV and Ryan in our opinion. Mitchell and Best are more custom built homes than most of their competitors and it shows. The house is amazingly tight, we had a gas line that was damaged during some construction on the street and were without gas for 5 hours. It was below 30 degrees and windy and during the 5 hours the house temp dropped 3 degrees from 72 down to 69.
