I had also asked that a screened-in patio be built onto the back of the house. There was a time restraint in getting the home ready as I was moving my 90 year old mother into this residence, which required the company to think about accommodations for her in the plans to finish the house. So a ramp was installed in the back of the house from the driveway to the back door so she would not have to address stairs, as well as a walk in shower and a bathroom that would fit a wheel chair if necessary. And as I live in California, the company kept me informed of the progress by sending me photos and video via a link to their website. The quality of work was exceptional and the company really listened to my mother to try to make the house a home for her. Any deviance from a plan or budget was always clearly explained with options if there were others. Delafield, Inc. because I needed an enclosure built on our patio, that would let our three cats have a way to experience the outdoors but remain safe. I told Robert what I had in mind and asked if it was feasible. Not only did his carpenters build what I had envisioned, they exceeded everything I had hoped the enclosure would be. Their attention to detail and their workmanship is exquisite. The unit is built with framing on the east and north walls. The west and south walls of the house, serve as the other two sides of the unit. The French doors from the house open into the enclosure's south side along with a cat-door that was built into the house wall. The east wall has a door that leads out to the yard. A corrugated translucent roof allows light and protects from rain. The inside framing is covered with hardware cloth (a material the cats can't destroy or escape from). The outside framing holds aluminum frames for the heavy duty screening material, to keep the insects out.
