Our commitment to creating dream cellars in existing spaces started in 2006. We had an under the stairs closet we wanted to convert but did not find what we wanted and needed for what we envisioned. So we created our own wine racking system. We designed for both functionality and aesthetics. The result was an innovative racking system designed to efficiently maximize any given small space, with bottles stored in the desired neck down position and displayed beautifully to showcase our wine collection for easy selection and retrieval. All of the bottles are kept in place very securely. The paint that Carlos used for the drywall backing was an "old world" style paint that beautifully sets off the wine and racks. Also Carlos used a green board with extra insulation to ensure that we keep the closet insulated. My wife and I chose to use a large mahogany door with beveled glass to show the wines off.
