> My professional relationship with Jack Ranieri began as a consultation. In 2008 I was building a home that I had designed for a hillside view lot in Bozeman, Montana. I was close to finishing the house and was about to start the detached 3 car garage. The garage was located on a sloped section of the lot. As sited the foundation stem walls would extend down 12’ at the steepest part of the lot, and the finished foundation would have required an enormous amount of compacted backfill. I was in a quandary regarding my building options and decided I needed a second opinion on the situation before committing to a plan of action. I asked Jack to come up to get his opinion. Jack looked and immediately suggested a full walkout basement below the garage. The cost of incorporating the full basement was greatly offset by not needing such a large amount of compacted fill. Jack brought a fresh perspective to the problem and I am grateful for the outside the box thinking and value he brought to my endeavor. I would highly recommend his services and creative viewpoint for design projects.
