I always knew I wanted to turn my passion for home renovation and architecture into more than just a hobby. In 1993, I took my experience as a contractor and architect and co-founded Samter Homes in Tampa, Florida. For nearly 20 years, Samter has successfully built hundreds of townhomes and multi-family units throughout Tampa Bay, while also building a solid reputation of quality and integrity. In 2009, the industry saw an increase in residential renovations and new home building and as a result I created Blake Building, a new division of Samter geared to the changing home marketplace. It promised you to finish in 6-7 months and took 19 months to finished and it was always others fault. But you see checking by your construction that days passed and no one is working on it. > The worst, items that were claimed under warranty, took almost a year to be fixed. > Not serious, always looking for to say "it was not mentioned or not in contract". If you decided to build, put EVERYTHING on black and white, recorded, texted and to EVERYONE involved in your project. **Comment from Blake Building:** > Edsel, I am sorry you feel that your home took longer than you anticipated and you seem so unhappy. We all worked very hard on your home and I am sure you would agree it is beautiful and exactly as you wanted. I would like to clarify that your stated timeframe is from signing the contract to turning over the keys (not just construction). During that time we designed a custom home, permitted the plans with the city and built the home (making many custom design changes during construction), all to make sure you received the home you desired. I think you would agree it turned out beautiful. Please remember, at the beginning of construction we did encounter wet, poor soils that slowed progress. During the entire process, I was never informed of your displeasure and would have liked the chance to rectify any problems you may have had prior to receiving a below average review. The staff that is employed are true partners and you feel like you are talking with a friend which makes the process that much easier.
