> Harry and his team were fantastic. They are both very professional as well as extremely competent. The work they do is high quality and well thought out. You actually see the guys talking through the best way to do something. They don’t rush and they care about their work product, even small details. They also always take the time to clean up and leave the job site in order; they treat your house like it is their house. Everything from the plan drawings to the selections to finishing up the details were a pleasure with this team. A big shout out to Robert, Bob, Ben, and Georgette!

> If I could give Harry Braswell Inc. one star I would. We hired Harry Braswell Inc. for a major renovation and addition in Old Town, Alexandria, VA. We are disappointed in the quality of construction and have had to redo many areas. I would not recommend Harry Braswell to anyone.

**Comment from Harry Braswell Inc.:**

> At Harry Braswell, Inc, we have been renovating homes for nearly four decades. We take great pride in our work and strive for the satisfaction of all our clients. We are sorry this customer had a negative experience. We work diligently with clients to achieve their project goals, but in rare cases, client expectations are beyond the scope of the project they contracted.

**★★★★★ — Cheryl Malloy, March 2019**

> The entire team was terrific from start to finish. They assessed the situation, made recommendations for fixing it and worked with us on also doing a small remodel while fixing the cracked ceiling. All of the subcontractors they brought in were terrific: they were very neat, cleaning up each day after they finished work; they were pleasant to work with; they did excellent work; and we never worried about them being in our home when we were away. We are very pleased with the finished product and the process was pretty painless, considering they had to replace a lathe and plaster ceiling. Also the project cost came in very close to the estimate which was a welcome surprise.

> I contacted this company regarding a time-sensitive residential project. The manager came to my home, assessed the job and told me he would send me a written estimate in a few days. More than two weeks later, after I called several times, the manager sent me a terse text message telling me that he was out of town and could not bid on my job in a timely manner - with no thank you or apology.

> Working with the team at Harry Braswell, Inc. was a superb experience! Harry, Kim and Todd were excellent communicators and listeners. From signing the contract to project completion, the team respected and understood our design intent, budget requirements and time frame. There were no problems and we thoroughly enjoyed working with them. When surprises arose (as they are apt to do in a historic house!) or construction challenges presented themselves, the Braswell team was on point with potential solutions. At the same time, they listened and understood our architect's design intent and respected that in all solutions. Their quality of work was exceptional with fine craftsmanship - exactly what we were looking for and expecting! We highly recommend Harry Braswell and his team and, if we had to do this again, we would definitely go back to Harry Braswell, Inc.!

> We want to thank the Braswell Concierge team for their quick response and professionalism, standing by their work when our large window installed in the summer shattered in the fall. The replacement has transformed our home. We want to express our appreciation of Drew's skilled, meticulous, and respectful work: a consummate carpenter, he painted, protected, and cleaned the workspace inside and out. It was a very positive experience and we wanted others to know how much we appreciated the entire Braswell team's effort to take care of us.

> We are huge fans of Harry Braswell, his team, and his company. Harry has completed numerous projects for us over the past twelve years. In our first home, he constructed a two-story addition that included a kitchen/family room and a master bedroom/bathroom. In our current home, he most recently installed our new backyard landscaping that included a retaining wall, patio, outdoor kitchen, garden wall, and firepit. He was fully vested in our project, was upbeat despite challenging conditions, kept us informed, managed multiple contractors, and was respectful of our budget. We whole-heartedly recommend Harry Braswell, Inc.

> My wife and I live in a four-story townhouse in Old Town Alexandria, VA with typical space constraints. The first challenge: move the clothes washer and dryer out of the kitchen (yes, the kitchen) to a floor closer to where most of the laundry is actually generated. We suggested the finished attic on the fourth floor. But the Harry Braswell Design/Build team came up with a much better solution that we could have imagined. They determined that a laundry room could be fashioned utilizing the space occupied by a closet and small hallway off the master bedroom—a hallway that led to the so-called "master" bath (in reality a tiny space with a stall shower and a small sink that hung on the wall). By appropriating the closet and hallway, they were able to create a full-size laundry area plus a greatly enlarged and elegant new master bath which, together, have enough storage to make up for the lost closet. Brilliant. Having solved the laundry-in-the-kitchen problem, we were able to completely redo the kitchen from top to bottom. We also widened a downstairs coat closet, redid the downstairs powder room, installed new carpet throughout, repainted several rooms, and did myriad other things that we had long wanted to do, such as relocating and adding electric outlets and installing lights in various closets. Three months later, on time and within budget, we practically had a new house. Every step and facet of the project was expertly coordinated by HB. Their design people all have degrees in architecture and the job supervisors are highly skilled craftsmen in their own right—and conscientious. Subcontractors were top quality (the tile guy who poured the new laundry and shower base owned the company and is a University of Virginia graduate!) We highly recommend HB for any project large or small.

> Harry Braswell performed a $600K rebuild after a fire required gutting my entire townhouse. I interviewed three companies competing for the reconstruction. HB's reputation in Old Town Alexandria VA, fair pricing (they weren't the most expensive of the three bids presented), and communication were the delineators in choosing them. Throughout the 12 month rebuild process - 4 months planning, 8 months building - the entire HB team was very supportive, encouraging, patient and professional throughout the project. A few outstanding team members requiring mention is Gretchen Brown (Project Manager), Erin May (Architect), and Jarrett Helms (Foreman). Their due diligence was superb. They listened to me, followed up readily, kept me informed of any issues and corrected any discrepancies that occurred. The rebuild is two months away from completion but I am very happy with their work.

**Comment from Harry Braswell Inc.:**

> Thank you so much for the kind words. We’re glad you chose us. It’s been a pleasure working with you to rebuild your home.

> We hired Harry Braswell Inc. for a complete master bath, guest bath and powder room remodel. The work was high quality from start to finish and included tile work, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting. The result exceeded our expectations. The project was completed on time and on budget by competent, professional tradesmen. The project manager and the on-site lead carpenter provided a level of quality control that my husband and I have never before experienced during a remodeling project. Given that a bathroom remodel during a holiday season (end of November 2013 - January 2014) is disruptive, we prepared for the worst. Instead, we got the best. In addition to the quality of the work, all the Braswell people we dealt with were responsive, courteous, and as accommodating of our needs as possible. We are very pleased.

**Comment from Harry Braswell Inc.:**

> So wonderful to hear! Thank you so much for the praise. We understand how disruptive home renovations can be, and continually strive to be as accommodating as possible.

**★★★★★ — kjmshopper, June 2014**

> Braswell Design and Build has an excellent reputation in Alexandria where I lived previously. Nevertheless, my husband and I received bids from 2 additional firms before choosing Braswell so we felt very comfortable with the fact that we had gotten enough information to make the right decision. From the start, Jimmy Finn, our architect, understood the direction we wanted to go with the renovation of our new home in Arlington. The very first plan he provided for the new upstairs layout was right on and it was full steam ahead from there. Included in our renovations was the addition of one brand new bathroom, the gut and enlargement of a second, and a 90% gut of a third. We were provided with excellent guidance when choosing our tile and other fixtures and had everything ordered and in process in the first week. Once the construction crew arrived, we continued to be pleased with outstanding service. Every single person in our home treated it- and us- with care and respect as well as worked efficiently and with a sense of urgency that was very appreciated given our impending move-in date. Our finish date did exceed the original plan; however, this was primarily due to backordered items. Still, the team followed up regularly with regard to the missing pieces, worked to find alternative solutions when necessary, and got us up and running as quickly as possible. We look forward to working with Jimmy and the rest of the team at Braswell for "phase 2" of our home.

**Comment from Harry Braswell Inc.:**

> Thanks for being our client! You had such a clear vision for your home – it was our pleasure to help you achieve your goals within a short timeframe.

**★★★★★ — Jennifer, June 2014**

> Our experience with Jimmy Finn, of Harry Braswell Inc., was outstanding. Mr. Finn was extremely helpful, patient, and hard-working throughout our kitchen renovation. His experience and talent provided us with exceptional work and a smooth and hassle-free process. The entire crew demonstrated the utmost in professionalism. We were impressed with how clean and organized the site was maintained throughout the project. Mr. Finn provided us with an outstanding renovation experience and a beautiful kitchen.
